Cardio is fun! I wish I could run more, but it hurts my knee badly. I bought new shoes, and that made it better for a while, but now the pain is back again. :(

I've always hated doing cardio but i'm loving it now. I used to slow down to catch my breath but not anymore. Its all 100% intensity for the whole time. It doesn't bother my knees but maybe that's because I'm not old. :P j/k

Well go to the gym and ride the bike machine. It's easier on the knees.

I used to back when I played football back in high school. I don't do those anymore since all they did was just just hurt my spine even though I was doing the correct form.

Actually, I was asking swj because he said he has leg pains. As for correct form, I've been watching Mark Rippetoe on youtube. He has some good tutorials on squat technique. I took his advice and it been working. youtube Mark Rippetoe Hip drive. If I had to guess, I think you were using too much weight or improper form. Whenever I have too much weight, my back will arch forward a bit even when I'm pushing with the hip drive.

I don't know, because I wasn't there. I'm just using my own experiences and what I've learned

But you quoted me. lol No, I'm positive I didn't have bad form. I used to have the coaches watch me do it correctly because they knew of my back problems.

It was an accident. I didn't mean to quote you. Bummer though. The reason why I recommend squats and deadlift is because they work the legs so well. I run a lot and decided to start doing them. I've made big improvements. So, I thought it might work for someone else.

Yeah, I'm getting very excited. It has been a long five years at this job. I'm ready to make some progress. I still need to see an advisor at some point.

I'm hoping to be a history teacher. The first two semesters I'll probably be taking a lot of history cIasses. I need to get my GPA back up before I can enroll in the teaching program. I was a lousy student five years ago. I'll probably finish off my linguistics degree and a Japanese minor while I'm waiting on education cIasses to open up.

My history teacher in 12 grade taught us about the changes in British society during the Industrial Revolution for a couple of weeks, and then the exam was in the form of a "role play". He set all the tables in the classroom in the shape of a big board room table, and we were then supposed to conduct the annual board meeting of Profit At Any Price, an organization of factory owners set at making as big a profit as possible. On the agenda he then put a whole bunch of issues for us to deal with: Unrest in the colonies across the Atlantic, the fact that the poor people living in the slum areas of town kept dying instead of having more kids we could put to work, the lack of food coming in from the country side, and of course the annoying new phenomenon known as "unions" and "worker's rights".

And then we got our individual grades based on the level of understanding of the issues we showed during the pretend meeting.

The fact I still remember that much of it should tell you everything about how much fun that was. :D
