@Lulu_Lulu:
"Less Variety and More Depth Please"
Actually starting to agree with you there, I gave AC4 a long rest and started playing it a again recently and I got quite bored, even though there is a lot if variety in side quest it all gets quite repetitive, and even main missions are all similar.
At first I highly praised AC4, I just hope I can get back into it at some point, and maybe watchdogs will share the same fate.
@Lulu_Lulu: yeh I hear ya, I don't know how old you are but I think it's got a lot to do with the fact that I'm older now and have been gaming since the late 80's, and games like AC and watchdogs maybe even GTA are not games for the mature gamer, they are for casual gamers or younger gamers or immature gamers(no offence) I reckon the younger gamers are more easily pleased because they haven't been gaming as long. Hopefully MGS5 will be amazing
So this is why we haven't seen any dlc released for this game. No wonder its taking them so damn long to release it - they were working on 3 new versions of the same game I already beat months ago. I couldn't give a crap about the 3 new versions - I just want them to release more dlc missions already.
Though the pc version looks nice - I still won't even consider buying it reaches bargain-bin level pricing. Probably not even then.

I didn't originally accuse you of anything. Just made a general point.
@maynardburger
Which you based on something I didn't actually do.... :(
its pretty mean !
It was based on the implications of your post.
Whilst I'm not the biggest GTA V fan, I most likely will buy it again on PS4... Mainly to see how good it looks and also because I never finished the campaign.
I think I may hold off until reviews come out and a true full release of what's changed, yes visuals are nice, but that was never my problem with GTA 5 great story but not enough to do which was actually interesting on the side missions. I may just wait it out till GTA 6
I'll probably pick it up again, but not at launch. I enjoyed my time with the PS3 version, but I didn't get around to finishing it because the new systems stole my time, and I've since sold it along with a lot of my PS3 and X360 games. This will probably be one of those titles I'll pick up next summer when the traditional drought hits, but only if I'm done with my backlog.
Its not worth buying again if you've played it. But if it was the greatest game u've ever played then i guess you should. I never played it so i'll get it on pc.
But getting a slightly better console version if you already had it seems pointless. I've bought pc versions before after owning the console ones because i wanted the massive improvement in graphics but also wanted better controls of a mouse and keyboard so thats why i did it in those cases. But the improvement in graphics from these consoles compared to last is very minor from what i seen.
I haven't played it yet. I used to look forward to a new GTA game but 4 left a sour taste in my mouth. Loved 3, Vice City and SA. Rockstar did a decent job with Max Payne 3 on the PC, so hopefully this port won't be bad (I played all GTA games on Sony systems). If the PC version comes out with all DLC I'll probably get it. If not, I'll wait for a price drop.
Ok, so here's what the differences are according to one article:
- New wildlife
- Denser traffic
- New jobs
- New weapons
- New properties
- New vehicles
- New player customization
- Cockpit view
And of course, the visual changes, which will be higher resolution, improved lighting, higher texture resolution, higher quality asset/texture replacements, better reflections, more foliage(and higher quality) and increased draw distance.
I know some people will say visuals aren't worth double dipping for, but GTA games are so dependent on the atmosphere and environment to provide the player an enjoyable world to romp around in, and these improvements will likely have a pretty significant impact on this aspect. I expect it to feel a lot more alive and realistic.
The article also has some comparisons of last gen vs current gen - > http://www.gameranx.com/updates/id/22469/article/gta-5-ps3-vs-ps4-gif-comparison-of-multiple-location-shows-stunning-difference/
If I didn't buy the game once already and get bored of it, this definitely makes it more desirable. It really ran like ass in some places on the PS3.
Already playing through it on PS3. No need to get it again, as I'll be busy playing new crpgs on the pc, by the time that comes out.
@maynardburger
You're still a big meannie ! Definately don't want you to show up at my birthday party.
I already bought you a present, though. :(
After having paid full price and putting well over 100 hours into GTA V, I don't really intend on buying it again. Maybe years from now, but I'm not going to pay to play something I've already paid for when probably the only difference will be graphics. I might be a bit torn on this once we finally see some SP DLC. I don't really want to buy something on last gen if it's on new gen, but if I only have the game on last gen... well, hopefully there will eventually be a complete edition on the PS4 in the future that I can check out in however many years.
i already have the the ps3. but only game ill consider buying again is the last of us remastered because that is superb single player and multiplayer :)
I never bought GTA V, but it reminded me that I had only played about 4 hours of GTA IV. So I started playing that again and realized that at the very least, GTA IV was a very good representation of NY, it's neighborhoods, and the people in those neighborhoods. Knowing the city fairly well, that added to the fun that I now am having with the game. Not to say it would otherwise be bad, it's a fun game regardless.
If GTA V represents Cali as accurate as IV did NY, I'll pick it up on the PS4 when the price drops. I'd be really interested in exploring the west coast.
Did anyone cover the fact that it came out during the PS3/PS4 transition (I know PS3 is still alive and well). I for one skipped the last gen version to get it for the PS4. PS Plus gives me so many free games between my 3, 4, and Vita that there's no rush to play the latest as they come out.
I will be picking this up, but I'll probably even wait until it drops to $39.
I would buy it for PS4 if there were some new features, improved graphics and framerate are good but don't justify the £50-60 price tag.
New radio stations/music would be good, same with cars and weapons. First-person driving view would be pretty sweet as well.
@ariabed:
There's no point in buying of playing GTA 5 for the next gen consoles or the PC especially if you've already played it on the last gen console--once was one time too man--too boring, too much drudgery, too much time doing mundane stuff in between the fun parts. If you're someone who enjoys playing and replaying GTA 5, then be thankful that you have so much extra time on your hands--or maybe you just don't have a life and you need to get one.
The Saints Row series is a different story. You can play and replay the game numerous times and still have a great time, especially with all the cusomizations.
@The_Last_Ride: ok, but did you already buy it for last gen or have you waited?
i bought it for last gen, but there are a few games that make me want to play it again

Could you be more bias? even your name is saintsrow.
lol
Yea, PS3 version looks awful by comparison. And amazing how many of the textures and assets are completely new/redone, not just a higher resolution version. This is a far greater effort than The Last of Us remaster.
@Jacanuk: LOL! HAHAHA
Thank you for your funny response.
You say I'm biased. I don't believe it. Just because I'm married to Saints Row doesn't mean I'm biased ;)
GTA5 is okay.
