Yes, even though the game Tenchu Z, a great game, came out and a upcoming game, Ninja Gaiden II, is coming out, I just feel as if there are a lack of good ninja games. I mean normally the Ninja games we see are simply sequels of the old, where is the new, where is the exciting ninja plots about betrayal and vengeance. (For any one that is wondering, Naurto, does not count). We need more good ninja games or the world is going to hell!

dude, tell me about it. pirates and samurai and crap like that get fifty full-length, high budget movies and games and action figures and breakfast cereals but there has yet to be an even semi high budget ninja movie. so far we have Ninja Gaiden. where is the halo, gears of war, and bioshocks of Ninja games?

Exactly, even games that were going to be ninja games, such as DarkSector, change into some other crap instead. It has if the corporations are just following a boring trend in order to make a little bit of cash. When they could make a lot more with a new, fun, and exciting full length ninja epic!

i completely agree. if shinobi was remade or got another sequel or something like that it could be so amazing. shinobi was one of the best games i had ever played on the ps2, albeit there were some flaws. but seeing hotsuma running around with his ten foot red scarf in HD 360 would be so amazing

Yeah, if they worked some roof top jumping in those big cities with roof to roof battles, it could be insane. Another idea that has been done with free flash games are Ninja RTS's, or Ninja role plays even, has any one considered a Role Play/RTS/First Person Action Game. That would be the most awesome game ever.

i think what they could do for a shinobi sequel/remake is to have a completely open-ended, free-roaming environment with lots of skyscrapers and castles and things to run on. sort of like if spider-man 2/3 had a ninja instead of spider-man

In my blog I explained how a real historical ninja operated.

If we look at it in the historical way than the Hitman franchise is the closest thing to a real ninja game.

There also happens to be a lack of games featuring the baddest man alive:Chuck Norris. Perhaps a Chuck Norris Versus Ninjas game is in order. Ofcourse Chuck Norris would win

I know how ninja's operated historically, and yes it might be cool to see realism, however I still love the powers and wall running abilities. To the Chuck Norris person, no, that would make a bad game. Other then that, I think we could get a good ninja game of good quality up, none of this Naruto nonsense.

what the hell are you talking about? hitman is nowhere near a ninja game. besides, splinter cell is way closer to a ninja game than hitman. plus tell me hitman is more ninja than tenchu z, ninja gaiden, or shinobi

I agree, the only thing about hitman is how he wears different things to throw his enemies off, other than that he doesn't really do any thing minorly Ninja. He is a pretty lame character all around. He also uses several guns.

He did, but I guess I shattered a few myths there, because he didn't sound happy indeed. He even went so far to say that ninjas got there suits from the Kabuki prop handlers :D. So after peace has set in Japan, ninjas decided to wear black! Brilliant.

P.S. Master of Spirits: I posted some evidence of Ninja raids in my comments! I would like to get your opinion on that. And if you also have evidence, please post it.

Ninja Gaiden was a good game. But Hayabusa wasn't much of a Ninja in my opinion. He didn't do the usual ninja stuff: stealth, climbing buildings, assassinations. He was more of a samurai than a ninja. A straight up swordsman.

I want more Ninja games, like Tenchu - but good.

alright, listen up. no one cares about your stupid "ninjas wore blah blah blah." the topic is that there needs to be more ninja games, whether that be a dude running around killing samurai or playing dress up. the fact is that no one gives a damn about what ninja dressed like, if you actually paid attention, we are talking about making games, not getting things historically accurate. so if you have nothing to say that actually relates to this topic, kindly shut up

*sighs* I don't think you were paying attention to what some people were saying. They were saying that most "ninja" games, if not all, aren't ninja games because these "ninjas" don't behave in any way like a ninja and they want a historically accurate ninja game to be made, which fits the topic nicely.

And please, avoid insults whenever possible.

First off, you didn't shatter anything, your proof lacks and because theONE source which you are taking all your evidence from, which is highly doubtful and they present little evidence themselves. You can not prove what a Ninja wore, in dark places especially corners they could have worn black. Would a ninja wear dark green while hiding in a bush? YES! It is camouflage my friend, the military practices this, blending in with your environment. It is your type of "know it all attitude" that really makes you stand out as a complete and utter moron and you sir could never be a historian. Yes, good job on your ONE source, and your whole Ninjas didn't wear camouflage, why, if they were hiding in the bushes they would wear samurai armor! "Brilliant!" The fact is no one has ever uncovered a full ninja suit so no one can prove any thing, maybe not me, but, certainly not you, The pure fact is Hitman was nothing like a ninja, it was in the future, was not set in Japan, he used guns, he practiced unnecessary killing, and he was a man that completely stood out with his nice suit of many colors. The number of the back of his head would never give him away! I think you can see now that you have been beaten. Stay out of my topic. You have failed.

This became your topic when? I never asked for any thing historically accurate when I made this topic. Do you recall when I first made this I referenced Tenchu Z and Ninja Gaiden II. Great ninja games, completely historically accurate? We may never know, but, don't insult my friends because you think you know what youare talking about.

MasterOfSprites

I would prefer that you posted this in my blog, because I did not want to derail this thread! But oh well, because you insist.

Fist of all I have one source more than you. Plus my know it all attitude? I asked you politely if you had any proof! Even in my blog about the history of the ninja, I say that many things are unknown and that you should not take my word as a gospel of thruth. Never did I claim that I was a historian.

Now to shatter you. Making me look like a moron :D. Haha. You said that a ninja will not wear an armor when hiding in a bush? You sir are correct. They would wear camouflage. Let me quote from my blog.

Ninjas did not actually use a black suit. Contrary to popular believe, black is a bad camouflage. The main problem being, that during the day you stick out as a sore thumb and during the night there are better colours you can use for camouflage. Brown and green were especially effective when used in a forest environment.

These ninja suits were used when ambushing enemies and for reconnaissance in enemy territory.

Bobovic

Were did I say that the wear samurai armor when hiding in bushes? Nowhere! See I said that there are ninja suits, but they were not black. You obviously didn't read or lack basic reading comprehension. And yet you say that I look like a moron?

But what about the Samurai armor stuff? Well I am glad that you asked!

So what did ninjas use to sneak into a castle?

Simple they used the same clothes as the guards. Bobovic

See they wore samurai or guard armor, when sneaking into a castle or maybe other places were many Samurai are present! So what were you saying again? Oh yes it made me look like a complete moron! You sir should be a comedian!

About the Hitman thing. It was only a suggestion, so if you don't agree than don't! Never asked you to agree with me. One guy did agree, and some other guys did not. Big deal!

Oh almost forgot. I appreciate you guys tried to read my blog. If you have questions and suggestions please don't be shy. But it would be wiser to post them into my comments. Goodbye

This is why the Ninja suit could very well be proven, Camouflage, you can never disprove or prove the ninja suit, furthermore, I wouldn't regard your one source proof and I won't. Now I will agree that you can not disprove the ninja suit as long as you agree I can not prove it. If we can just leave it at that, because I am getting sick of the argument, let us get back to matters at hand. We need a new ninja game, realistic or fantasy; we need a new epically good ninja game.

Well I did, I overlooked "Brown and green were especially effective when used in a forest environment.

These ninja suits were used when ambushing enemies and for reconnaissance in enemy territory." By accident. I didn't read it, but my reading skills are quite fine for the record. I honestly wouldn't have insulted her but I felt angered at the way my topic was changed. Honestly, wither real ninjas wore black, which can make a nice camouflage at night because I have used it, it doesn't matter, because fantasy is cooler than reality. Is that not why we play video games? It can be better than reality. Who wants to play a video game just to do what they already have done before or has happened? A few people, but the majority of people like there to be a mystic quality to their games though.

i completely agree. who wants to play a video game about something they can do in real life? if you don't even try to add some element of fiction to a video game, it's just going to be boring

Naruto actually isn't quite as stupid as American games and commericals make it seem, though it's not really ninja...

Though I agree, Ninja Gaiden is the only really good one, and I havent played Tenchu.

Yeah I'd like a Ninja game, like Assassins Creed with realistic mind set, but really cool moves (although better fighting than Assassins Creed). Ninja Gaiden is a pretty beat em up game, not really a good ninja game.

Ninja Gaiden is one of the best ninja games in existance dispite it's lack of stealth or assassinations. To the other person, you should pick up Tenchu Z, it is probably one of the best stealth games I have ever played in my life, great customization, and there are so many levels and things to do, however, rent it first as it is not for every one. I honestly think that no matter how good they made a ninja game, if they made it completely realistic, it would be boring.

Heck yes it would, any ninja games, would be so good to have, I am actually doing a review on a popular ninja fighter, Dead or Alive 4, very soon, for any one interested in buying it.

Naruto actually isn't quite as stupid as American games and commericals make it seem, though it's not really ninja...

Though I agree, Ninja Gaiden is the only really good one, and I havent played Tenchu.

instantdeath999

haha i've watched naruto, both english and japanese (so don't try that "the english version sucks, you have to watch it in japanese" stuff like some of my friends do) and it's terrible. naruto is the sorriest excuse for a ninja anything. just the fact that that show came to america nearly destroyed Ninja for me. NG is a really good game, can't wait for 2. but you should try out Tenchu Z. it's got some flaws but gameplay is fun.

Realism isn't fun unless it is the sims.

2 things.

1. I find it funny that NG one of the best ninja games, has 0 stealth or assassinations.
2. You arenot a ninja if you wear bright frikin orange.

Yes, PGR and The Sims isn'tgreatly realistic either, and naurto is in no way a realistic or good mystic ninja. agree with this, however despite NG's lack of stealth and assassinations he still makes a great mystic ninja. He seems to be a larger than life character, a Super Ninja.

one thing you could say though is that there is at least one good ninja franchise (ninja gaiden), which you cant say for samurai or pirates, at least in the current gen

especially samurai, i agree though all 3 of these could use some loving (i like samurai best sooooo go for them developers :D)
