True, I only played the demo of Forza 2. Too bad I don't own a 360 so I can actually try FM3 but I couldn't get into the GT series and the Forza 2 demo didn't impress me.

I completely agree TC. Mario kart is just awesome. And since I don't like Sims, for me MK is the best 8)

I've only really enjoyed 2 racers this gen. GT5 which has me hooked like crack. And to a lesser extent Mario Kart Wii.

I feel like I've had this argument with you before. The racing is way more hectic, balanced, and strategic than mario kart and this could pretty much be considered a fact. I doubt you own the game, but if you do play Modnation Racer's for a few races and then play Mario Kart Wii. The difference is incredible because Mario Kart makes every kart feel like a snail pace on 150CC compared to modnation racer's on even the SLOWEST setting for MNR (I own both, have played them back to back). Control wise, in modnation you can tweak them and make it more responsive if you choose that over being able to drift easily. It's really a great trade-off they've created as people can play to what they excel at.

There is so much packed in the gameplay compared to MK that its not even funny. The only thing that's really missing the weapon variety, but really that doesn't take much from the overall racing experience. The many of the custom maps that I've played in this game (which have taken some people approx. 10-15 hours to complete to their standard) are the BEST maps I've ever seen in ANY kart racing game. People have been able to do a lot with these tools and objects and the developers are continuously adding more and more content to make better and more interesting maps. Don't call this a poor man's Mario Kart until you play the full game for an extensive time. It easily surpasses Mario Kart in so many areas AND it's clearly evident.

It's a much deeper game gameplay wise, has more lasting value, and is extremely fun online with a well made XP system and full of competitive races. The career mode was so satisfying to beat too (since it was ACTUALLY CHALLENGING), kind of like when you got 120 stars in Mario 64.

For me it GT5 and Forza 3 never been a fan or Mario kart and didn't try PGR.

I find MNR better then mario kart mainly in the balance area. Both have rubberband issues but MK is the king of that catogory.

If I recall, your reasons for yo preferring Mario Kart has a lot to do with the mario kart having better characters and the magic that Nintendo characters bring. In fact, that argument was used by many people. I kept bringing up strong points from my experience with both games, and all the MK fans kept saying it's better without going into detail.

If you want to shut yourself away from a great kart racer that's fine, but I'm not going to stop telling people about how great a game is if it really is a fun, addicting experience. United Front made a game that shook things up the kart racing genre and feels fresh compared to other racers and they deserve all the sales/attention they can get. I feel like I've made good points to why this a better game than Mario Kart Wii and no one has come with anything to defeat my point on these forums. All it really comes down to is that Mario Kart is a brand name and a Mario Kart Wii happens to be one of the best mario kart's therefore it's understandable why people would shut out MNR. It's really quite stupid that they do without learning anything about the game.

Nah, MR is much better than MK. I owned and played MK Wii and ModNation Racers. Quite simply, MK hasn't evolved to the current generation of gaming. That's understandable, as its fanbase expects one thing and would probably be upset if they got something else. That still doesn't change the fact that MNR is still much better. And I really hate when someone goes and tries to criticize level design in LBP or track design in MNR, it really speaks to the depth of ignorance when these criticisms are thrown at these two games.

You only need one game, GT5.

My 2 favorite have been Burnout Paradise and GT5. Haven't played Forza yet, so that would probably change something. Definitely not Mario Kart though. I don't like rubber banding AI and stupid powerups that cater to the people in last place

But, the two racing games I've had the most fun with this generation are Forza 3 and PGR 4. Forza 3 was fantastic and PGR 4 is just so wonderfully different from traditional racing games that I can't help but love it.

Imo the top racers this gen are Project Gotham 4 Forza 3 and Dirt 2 (pc)

Only just bought GT5 so I can't really say much about it. Gameplay wise it's not upto Forza's standard.
