Mine was an Atari 2600. It was actually my older sister's, but we all played it. However I'd get bored with it rather quickly.
The first system I owned that I really loved was my NES. Super Mario Bros., TMNT II: The Arcade Game, The Legend of Zelda, and Contra FTW! Those were the first set of games I truly fell in love with and made me the gamer I still am today.
Someone likes to dig up old threads eh? :P
Since it's also a "video game system" it was Spectrum ZX (for a "proper" one).
First Handheld - Game Boy Colour
First Console - SNES. I just want to share some of the memories I had of those days. I got it for Christmas with Mega Man X. I play the crap out of that game. I have beaten it at least 40 times.....I kid you not. Lol I remember always having a freaking stack of papers next to my SNES thanks to that password system they used. A pile of papers full of passwords. That was one of the games I grew up on and loved every minute of it.
well the first "video game system" I played was a PC (a 386 I think) , but if you only count consoles, it would be the Gameboy.
Handhelds aren't consoles. :) Let's see, Atari PC Jet Set willy was the first game I actually owned. I first Played an Odyssey though (2nd Version) Handheld, I actually played a Microvision first, but The first I owned was a LYNX.well the first "video game system" I played was a PC (a 386 I think) , but if you only count consoles, it would be the Gameboy.

Yes they are. And device that's mainly made to run games is a console.
Home computers like the C-64, Specturm ZX, Amiga, Atari ST, DOS and Windows PC and MAC, however, are not consoles. Neither are smartphones.
