Microsoft. I'm finding fewer and fewer reasons to have both a 360 and PS3, and if their next console is just another direct competitor to the PS4 I doubt I'll get one. Especially since Microsoft seems to be pushing games into the background in favor of ads and tv shows, it's just not what I want.
I'm interested to see if the Wii U or whatever they decide to call it will live up to it's potential.
Nintendo, the Wii was a gimmick and had maybe 5 games worth playing and the Wii U will probably follow. They should stick to making handhelds and games for other consoles.
Microsoft, because their consoles are built with cheap parts and fail all the time. The lack of a good 1st party line up is a good reason as well, but at least Sony and Nintendo make decently built systems. There are people who have gone through 5 or 6 360s, sometimes even more.
Nintendo. I absolutely hate their hardware gimmicks and can't bring myself to buy their systems anymore, but I really miss playing their games. So, if I could have Nintendo stop making consoles but, instead, bring their library of games to Sony and Microsoft consoles, I'd be thrilled.
I'd say none of them since competition is healthy, they all bring something to the table and all that.
But if I have to choose one, then Microsoft. They have the least amount of games that interest me. Gears of War and Halo are fantastic, but that's literally it. They have nothing else that interests me that I can't get on the PC or PS3.
Nintendo. I know they're main appeal is to the E-T crowd, but the system is filling our stores with crap...and then kids buy this *crap* and encourage more *CRAP* to be developed. They've pile-driven Link/Zelda, Sonic, and Mario into the dirt and now we've even got phones that can do more than the Wii. It's just a worthless system and company.
Microsoft. They've gone from being a leader to a wannabe Nintendo with fewer studios, and who needs that?
Back when they had a plan centered around content, I was behind them one hundred percent. Sadly, that is not the case anymore. If Sony is equally priced and comparably powerful, there is very little need for Microsoft in the gaming space any longer, assuming Sony doesn't go equally stupid in the coming generation, in which case I hope both of them burn to cinders.
Honestly, I find the 360 to be completely worthless, if MS never made another console I wouldn't complain. meetroid8
The 360 was great -- back when it was a conventional console and Microsoft poured resources into getting games and content. Now they want to make shi* games in hopes they can appeal to the dickheads who like pinwheeling their arms around and jumping in place in front of their televisions like morons.
The 360 was a very special machine at one point. It's sad where they are taking it.
M$.
Only if I had to choose. Of all my favorite games, ever, the Xbox has none on my list. They also have not made me want to continue to support them. I plan on skipping next gen based purely on the amount of titles Sony has now and in the future. I like having 3 console makers competing against each other, it's great for the industry. It's just that Sony's got what I want.
Microsoft. They were responsible for DLC becoming popular on consoles, and the only one charging for internet play. I'd like to see Sega replace them in the console business. If you had to choose which main company of the three (Microsoft, Sony, or Nintendo) should stop making consoles for the next gen, which would it be?

Micro$oft. They clearly dont know how to make a console ( RROD ) & i have yet to see anything exclusive wise that makes me think investing in them is a good move.
I dont care about Halo, & Gears, I dont care for paying to get access to my own internet connection ( XBL ) & all the extra money grabbing moves MS pulls.
Preferretly none, but If I had to pick one I would pick MS; because it would have a smaller impact on thier bottomline then Sony or Nintendo.
besides MS wouls still have the PC in theory.
I don't want any of the big 3 to get out of gaming, nor do I want them to dail, or go bankrupt. Basicly that was why I picked MS, I figure theyd survive anyways :P
From a tech standpoint and what was delivered this gen, MS and Sony could flip a coin for it, if I have to be brutally honest. Neither impressed me a whole lot, both promised WAY more then they could live up to, and both pretty much came across like a "PC light" option. Or rather a media hub, so they did not feel liek a console to me.
They are great for what they do, don't think I dislike any of them, its just they delivered way less then expected.
None. They all have something to offer to me. Too much personal attachment as well. Early days on the xbox with Halo. Playing Playstation for the first time, and of course the 64
Nintendo. I don't remember playing a game I enjoyed on the Wii, mostly because of that motion gaming crap. Motion gaming should stop all together I don't play games to move around, that's what outside is for.

You dont remember the PS2? That thing broke just as much as the 360 does.
Except for the Nintendo haters, everyone should be saying MS or Sony, because the systems provide basically the same games, except for the few exclusives each system gets. I see alot of people here voting for MS, and I can understand that given I have been through 4 Xbox 360's(all fixed for free though) and have never had to fix my PS3. That said, I would vote for Sony. Xbox Live is leaps and bounds better than PSN. Yes you haveto pay for Xbox Live, but I find the $60 a year fee is worth every penny for a service that is as seamless and integrated as Xbox Live.

None of them.
If it wasn't for Microsoft, Sony's wouldnt have had to step up their game in the online arena. Remember, the PS2 launched without online support or even an add-on.
It's wasn't for Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft would be content making PC games that everyone can play. They wouldn't innovate or think outside the box. As much as I despise the Wii, you have to commend Nintendo for not doing the exact same thing the other two console makers are doing.
And if it wasn't for Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo would keep shoving casual s*** down on our throats. We would be playing nothing but Mario, Zelda and Halo year after year. We would be forced to pay $60 a year just to be able play online, and participate in beta testing of peripherals that should've been released as peripherals and not the main course.
Nintendo as a no brainer for me. The fact that their first party games are their main redeeming feature to compensate for weak hardware and weak third party, I think, reinforces the point that they shouldn't (in an ideal world) be making hardware and should stick to games.
I'd say Nintendo, but the Wii-U actually shows the slightest hint of promise, and doesn't use motion controls
So I'd say Microsoft. Sony has a ton of crap like online passes galore, getting hacked, and terrible online service, but their system hasn't broken on me 5 times right after the warranty ends.
Microsoft is in need of some serious new exclusive franchises moving forward. They've probably built up enough of a market to keep some people using the 360 as their console of choice for nonexclusives, but you wonder if that will last forever.
As someone with a decent PC and a PS3, I haven't had to turn my 360 on since... well, I played Limbo when it was released. However long ago that was.
Nintendo never had interest in the Wii and will never have interest in the Wii U and I don't think I'll have interest when they decide to make the Wii Me.
