Wait, we can't say Virtual Boy or Color TV Game (which I believe was their first ever console)?

The TV Game 6 that they started out with was nothing special-just a Japanese-made take on the Magnavox Odyssey, which was not sold in Japan. (Likewise, the first few Nintendo gaming consoles were not sold outside of Japan.) However, I want to cut them some slack here since it was their first console, long before the idea of swappable game cartridges caught on. The Virtual Boy...I don't even know if it can be classified as a console, so to speak. It's portable, yet far from a handheld. In any case, it had potential, but Nintendo botched it pretty badly with bad marketing and not even supporting it long enough for it to celebrate just ONE anniversary! (Hell, if it had just a few more months, the library could've been expanded significantly!) Like it or not, though, it can't compare to the rest of Nintendo's offerings. The Game Boy Micro is a handheld, not a console. Nevertheless, I do fall in the "Why did they even make that?" camp. No backwards compatibility with the GB/GBC libraries, non-standard link cable port, and postage stamp-sized screen all detract quite a bit from it, especially in the face of the backlit GBA SP variant (the one with the brighter screen). Anyway, if I have to pick between the NES, SNES, N64, and GCN...I guess I'll go with the GCN. It's not a horrible console, just...something seems to be missing from the overall library in comparison to past consoles, especially the SNES. Perhaps part of the reason was that many third-parties excluded the GCN from their multiplatform titles, and one particular publisher even went back on their exclusivity agreements for some of their more successful games on the platform.

The Virtual Boy definitely, it caused eye strain, motion sickness, and it looked and played like crap (from what I've heard). Second (for me), would have to be the Wii, even though it's the killer app this gen, it doesn't have the MUST HAVE games the Gamecube had (like Metroid Prime, Resident Evil 4, REmake, etc). It's fun, but not pure Nintendo fun. Ω

you've obviously never tried to hold the virtual boy in your hands. i wouldn't even try to call it a handheld system unless you have mr. universe size neck muscles.

Worst Nintendo Console? In my life's time the only bad one I can think of is the Virtual Boy.

Some of the games for it were good (like WarioLand) but the idea was terrible.

I think it's the Virtual Boy. The only thing I didn't like about the N64 is the weird controller design. One of the weirdest I've seen.

I own four Nintendo consoles- NES, SNES, N64, and Gamecube. My pick- N64 because it lacked RPG, and fighting games.

people are deviating from the list and saying the Wii... you gotta be kidding me.

considering it's backwards compatible with the GameCube AND has access to many of the best titles from multiple legacy consoles (including one of Nintendo's biggest competitors during its early days), it has to be at least as good as anything else on the actual list provided.

I'd say the GameCube, but only because it feels like Nintendo gave up on it earlier then they should have. But really, the only flops are their gimmicky consoles, like the Virtual Boy.

It might be a bit too early to judge the Wii just yet, but the N64 and GC both sucked. No Nintendo console after the SNES really matters.

The reason I posted in another thread earlier today.

no nintendo console sucks because ive played all of them all had awesome games

and i have a ps1 and ps2 also and everyone owns one because they sold 104 million ps1 and 144+ million ps2

i have played a xbox 360 and its cooler than cool its awesome

i dont think nintendo should be the worst because if it wasnt for them you wouldnt have awesome games because they stopped the crap fest of games and actually put awesome in games

but that doesnt mean sony an microsoft are bad

the only sony console that should be the worst would be the ps3 but not as bad as a virtual boy < nintendo

the worst microsoft console is the 1985 pc games

64 simply because they changed the damn name from ultra 64 which sounded like it would be mean and powerful and we should fear it... to nintendo 64 with all the colors and happy feelings that came with it. i was like 13, pissed off at the world and wanted the ULTRA 64 so I could play freakin killer instinct and crusin' usa, and not some washed out doppleganger that kinda sorta looked like crusin' usa.

yeah and the rpg's were useless.

The Nintendo 64 seemed to be the biggest letdown in the Nintendo console list to me mainly because it looked bad, and game play wasn't far behind. The games looked choppy and it seemed like it was struggling to look like anything most of the time. For me it marked the death of Mario, once he became 3D it was like the creators lost the concept of a difficult game. You could no longer die!! WTF! and enemies became less of a challenge and more like a nuisance not even a difficult one at that, being that almost all of them could be easily bypassed. For the few games it had that were fun you had too many let downs to make it worth the cost of another hunk of plastic.

While I love my Virtual Boy, (yes I still play and enjoy games on it, like Wario Land, Mario Tennis, and Golf) I guess in comparison to other Nintendo consoles it's the weakest one. But I still heart it :D

And considering the display needed to rest on a tripod and the controller (and it was a controller, not an integrated controller and display) this thing was by far the worst system the had developed, and I'd consider it a console like I consider the Vectrex a console....

Well, the Wii is just a piece of junk and is the worst Nintendo console there is, but from the list you have there I would say the GC. I have owned every Nintendo console from NES to current (until I sold the Wii) and the GC was the turning point for Nintendo's downfall into gaming mediocrity. I barely played it at all and found myslef playing my N64 even after I bought the GC. Also, since it was my only console for that gen I found myself being leftout from all the great games like Halo and God of War that were being released on the other consoles and realized that the games for the GC were terrible (and yes I did buy the big ones like Metroid, Sunshine, Melee, etc.). With the GC 2.0 (a.k.a. the Wii) Nintendo has finally gone past the tipping point for bad games and a bad console. I am sad to see the fall of the great Nintendo, but they ****** up by disregarding the true gamers.

The Virtual Boy was a neat idea but wasnt awful so I'd say it, and the Wii is a good system but has way to much shovelware and its only really good games are the ones made by Nintendo it has some good third party games but not many best games I bought that wasn't from Nintendo was No More Heroes and Mushroom Men

and also of course the sonic games for it are alright also

im basing it off of controller and display because the virtual boy is just red and black and hurts eyes etc. and controller of the A 5200 it dont work good and it breaks after 1 hour of play games were fine and sales were low due to the controller

I suppose N64 since compare to the other console it doesn't have AS many good games for it. Plus the feel was different and compared to PS1 isn't that good.

I'm not going to sugar-coat it; Nintendo's decision to use cartridges for the N64 was garbage. Rah rah, cartridges have no loading screens. That was Nintendo's public reason for choosing cartridges. Their primary motivation was to prevent piracy, which ultimately failed. They lost a boatload of 3rd-party support because of that. Therefore, despite the fact that it has many awesome games, the N64 is my least-favorite of those Nintendo consoles.

The Virtual Boy by a long shot, and I know what I'm talking about cause I owned one. I bought it for $40 bucks and 3 games used from a Blockbuster that was getting rid of them. I could speak about everything that was horrible about this system but the Angry Videogame Nerd made a video about it and expresses my sentiments perfectly: AVGN on VirtualBoy

sticky5fingaz

yeah i think the GameCube was the worst. The games came on odd small discs (not quite the size of dvd, maybe to avoid piracy?), the console is ugly and looks like a toy. i hate the GC controller and the lack of decent games is another reason i've had no urge to get one. True Resident Evil4 came out on it first (and believed to be better than the PS2 port), but it really seems like Nintendo was doing a half-hearted job trying to compete with M$ and Sony. I dont think online would have helped at all.

The GC. The least amount of awesome games and the least innovation. Can anyone tell me anything innovative about the console itself?

The Virtual Boy But off your list the Gamecube. It was not bad but did not separate its self from any other Nintendo system. Other than Metroid in 3D nothing was really amazing imo.
