Does anyone think he deserves his own 3rd person action/adventure game? Nintendo made him to be so agile and fast and awesome in the smash bro's game that I think he deserves to be in the spotlight for once. We know enough about him to give him his own game so I think its fair.

But if this so happens, I want miyamoto to stay away from the project but I just know that won't happen. I could just see him effing things up and giving us graphics and crappy gamplay like from those 3d cartoonish spiderman games. I'd want this to be a serious mature game (not saying it has to be mature rated with gore and blood etc just not kiddy).

thoughts?

I'm not sure about that. He has always featured in racing games. How would the story line be?

Who says Miyamoto has to make the game kiddy?

He has to make the game GOOD. Besides, F-Zero is a racing game.

Well this is an interesting thread

You don't want one of the legends of gaming touching a game in any way?

That's like being hungry but the finest restaurant will not do, we shall root through the dumpsters for our food!

Ha, I was just about to post that video of the falcon punch.

cap't falcon bio http://super-smash-bros.wikia.com/wiki/Captain_Falcon

seems as though a lot of people don't really know about him. hes a bounty hunter. why not make a game based on that? just because hes in f-zero means he shouldnt get his own seperate action adventure game? didnt fox mccloud get his own AA game?

Oh and althought miyamoto is a legend, he fell off the creativity horse a long time ago, IMO. sorry but I just haven't been thrilled with his material lately. why cant he create a new first party game for nintendo thats a bit more mature instead of giving us the same old same old but with some upgrades. it gets tiring. i want something new, something innovatiing. so far all we got from nintendo in that respect is the metroid prime series which miyamoto didnt really have a hand in, he just supervised the project.

Yeah, he could be chasing a bounty and then get stranded with his car crashed. Then have to set out to save himself or something. I dont know.

That's actually a pretty good idea. He's a bounty hunter and it's surprising that nintendo hasn't done anything with that. And i agree add a mature storyline, some intense action, mixed with a bit f zero racing and u'd have a quite the awesome game.

wow! what an awesome idea!

why don't you bring Bungie, so they can make it?!
I mean, everybody knows that Miyamoto knows nothing about games, i couldn't agree more with you dude!

damn! I mean, what a piece of crap! he makes games with no (insert "mature" word/thing/action/story here)? that couldn't be more kiddy, could it?

hey! I have my own ideas as well, I want a Star Fox game, NO Miyamoto involved please, I want NO Aircraft as well, i want an 3rd person action adventure game, that would be SO awesome!

oh! hold on! that already happened...
and it was...

thanks for the sarcasm.

today, it seems as though miyamoto doesn't know anything about games. either he truly lost his touch or he turned into a corporate snake who just wants to make a quick buck off of games that seeminly look like they don't take much effort to make. I personally would love for nintendo to make some new games but seeing as using the same nintendo characters and putting them in different gaming genre's is their speciality then why not do that for cap't falcon?

Yeah, that new Wii Fit that's currently on pace to sell 2 million units this week or next while only being released in one region.

I'm very confused to how you see his ideas as bad.

So losing his touch means great game and huge seller? So in your book does having the touch mean not doing well?

This sounds like an Idea that sounds good at first but you know they would just use the FalconPunch to finish off every boss. Maybe they could give him a turtle companion, just for kicks.

wow. all these faulty assumptions

I'm saying his ideas suck because they aren't creative. hes smart in a business sense because he knows whatever he spits out people will buy no matter how bad of quality and simple it is. he doesn't take chances anymore or make anything innovating. what he puts out isnt great, in my opinion. all these games i find to be redundant and overwhelmingly boring. I currently own more 3rd party games for my wii than first party.

Just because wii fit is different doesn't make it innovative to me (i dont even really consider it a game either). if you go to the gym they have treadmills that have a screen which displays a 3d simulator where your on riding your bike on the road as nature and other bikers pass you by. they also have a rowing machine like that. thats more intense than push ups or yoga on some board.

by losing his touch i mean hes not trying anymore. hes not creativity. this has nothing to do with sales. this has to do with exploitation of "simple" gamers which in turn makes other gamers suffer.

Nope this is a bad idea. Ever since Brawl came out I've been noticing more and more people asking for these characters to star in a 3D game of their own. They're fun to use in Brawl but I think these characters should stick to their roots.

it seems no one here has played F-Zero GX's story mode. it had a bounty hunter storyline in it starring mr. falcon. i think he should stay in the car. if you deviate too far away from the main game it'll turn into something like this.

what are you, 13/14?! the man single handedly saved video games! he created mario and zelda. he created games as we know it. until you realize that, think before you speak!

obviously his stuff is simple, because he, unlike everyone else in the video game business, is not a selfish punk who wants only current gamers to play games. his stuff is "simple" because he wants everyone to like gaming so that we dont see things like this on the news (not the subject matter itself but just how it was handled).

I was just about to say that. Think of all the great games he brought us. If you're going to start dissing miyamoto then it's only fair that you stop playing every mario, zelda, donkey kong, starfox, smash brothers and mario kart game because I guess they just aren't up to your high standards.

little known fact: bounty hunters search out criminals who are worth monetary value if caught. no guns needed. are they used? sometimes. are they needed? absolutely not.

Uh I just turned 21 years old. Hence my lack of preference for games like mario galaxy, pikman, zack and wiki, and so forth.

I already paid respects to miyamoto and called him a legend in gaming. but now, hes not doing anything creative. I'm sensing lack of reading comprehension here.

I would think simple games would make him a selfish person who only cares about profit. these people who make these complex games put many months into them getting the details down to a tee. it's hard work they are doing. his simple games worked for me when i was a kid and in my early teens but I dont have any preference for those games anymore. Nintendo fails to make games for those who have been with them since the very beginning. Why would I need a simple game at the age of 21? that doesn't mean I want gore and guts, i just don't want the same old game that works for the simple gamer. its redundant. Only thing "true" gamers got from nintendo was metroid prime series and that itself was made by a company that nintend bought.

and lol@ you giving me a link to a fox news story about gaming. that in itself lacks credibility. conservatives think violent video games shape your kids instead of lack of parenting. i played violent video games all my life, watched violent movies with sexual content and i'm a perfectly fine 3rd year university student. if nintendo comes across something like that they should be able to handle it and stick up for what they do rockstar has been doing it with every gta game. nintendo is a video game company not a babysitter. so bring on the stories. i wouldnt care.

did it ever occur that he just put a whole gym in the comfort of your own room and more incentive and fun.

I have to say he did another genius project.

He may have ideas about online and interface that iI totally disagree with but hes made all the great games we play today.

I dont think you know much about what he has done.

As for F-Zero I dont know why you want a 3rd person action game for something has been a racer. You can put any character in a 3rd person action game i dont know why you have to use the Captain. If anything they need to get the same Sega dev team to make this F-Zero as the one on GC. That game was amazing and was also guided by Miyamoto. I just hope they will make anothe F-Zero that is like GX with more story. I love how they had voice acting and great cutscenes.

It's a simple game. You don't need to be smart to play it and it's not really that challenging. If you have eyes you can see what spaces will be filled by what objects that are falling. The idea behind the entire game is trying to better your own score.

he put a gym in the comfort of your own room?? wow

I go to gold's gym about 5-6 days a week and have been in sports all my life as well as started really working out at the age of 14. i know a good deal about the human body to tell you that this board will not put you in a shape. There is no cardio work out involved in this at all (unless you wanna partially include the hulaaa-hoop thingy) and cardio work out is the key to being healthy and getting in shape. you will have a better chance losing weight and/or getting in shape with dance dance revolution than wii fit.

i also no a great deal of miyamoto's work and what hes done for the video game industry. but why are you guys continuingly saying I lack knowledge in his work because I say he fell of his creative horse. that doesn't make any sense. He was good at one time hes not really at his best now. how hard is that to comprehend. you people are misctronuing what i'm saying and making it out to seem as though i said he is irrelevant to gaming.

Wii Fit also has aerobic activities (not including the Hula Hoop) so you might want to research a bit better.

it is simple yes but it still requires you to use your mind. there is also different modes of the game such as were the pieces fall down faster and you have to map out your strategy to get them to fit a lot quicker than before. thus..the challenge.

you're logic is the one that needs to be in question now. you're making it seem as though your eyes are guiding your brain and not the other way around.

There is no cardio work out involved in this at all (unless you wanna partially include the hulaaa-hoop thingy) and cardio work out is the key to being healthy and getting in shape.

Jaysonguy

Wii Fit also has aerobic activities (not including the Hula Hoop) so you might want to research a bit better.

I'm saying his ideas suck because they aren't creative.

BrooklynHotBoy

Super Mario Galaxy is the winner of the following awards at Gamespot:

Best Graphics, Artistic,Best Platformer,Best Wii Game, and Overall Game of the Year 2007 among others.

Game Design Concept: Shigeru Miyamoto

Funny thing is, most of these awards were based on it's creative level design and use of gravity.

And more then that too.

Did you even bother to learn about the game before you started thinking what was in it? It seems that you made this entire argument off everything but the source.

I don't want to call you out here or anything but so far you've made a poor argument against a game that you don't know anything about and coupled it with calling it's creator washed up yet every single developer would give their children for one game from him.

Yes and that makes you in the very small minority.

People in the minority usually don't have many ideas go their way because there's not many people who see things the way they do, hence you not getting much agreement from the majority of people.

Which means this idea of your game and who should make it? Is only thought of as a good idea by the minority.

Again you're putting words into my mouth. I didnt call the man washed up I said hes lacking creativity. Please read whats in context.

I learned a lot about wii fit and I know there there isnt a single thing about it that will make one fit. And to support my claim I have a friend who wants to buy this things. and when he does i'm gonna get on it. i'm gonna also record my lil fun on it and them i'm gonna come in here and write a long detailed post on how i sweated and felt more physical exurtion in the gym than i did on wii fit. you're assuming i know noting about the game only because i feel like its waste of time and htat is a poor argument on your part.

good that makes me the small minority. that means i dont share the same ideas as everyone else. i'm unique in a sense. thank you for saying that. because if i did think like everyone else than what am i left with other than conformity?

so it's great that not everone thinks the way I do.

Forget following what I'm saying are you even following what YOU'RE saying in all of this?

Here's what you just said on the second page on this thread about him.......

he doesn't take chances anymore or make anything innovating. what he puts out isnt great, in my opinion. all these games i find to be redundant and overwhelmingly boring.

BrooklynHotBoy

I'm not putting any words in your mouth. So far in this thread you've either shown you don't know about his history or have don't have a full grasp on what one of his latest games (Wii Fit) offers.

I'm just going to leave this thread now because I see it my way and you see it yours. No animosity no grudge, just two people who don't see eye to eye.

Have a good night

You're still assuming that because I dont like his work makes me ignorant to his previous work and the work he has out now. thats a logical fallacy. it doesnt make any sense.

but oh well. good night

but we have people like you whom insist on instigating to expland the problem.

i'm being professional and stating my peace whether he reads it or not. no harm in that. its just a reiteration and a good bye. nothing added to spark back up an argument.

grow up.
