It would be a first if they did. I think that is the industry equivalent to shotting yourself in the foot.

yeah. i posted this WEEKS AGO and it was already old and fake at that point!! it was a concept, but now that Nintendo is increasing the memory in a card they won't need to. at least that's what i've been told

by how much? For those of you who are still in doubt that the picture is a fake or are desperately holding on to the idea that 2 cartridges would be cool, lets think about one thing...how the hell are you supposed to change the cartridges to continue the game??? Think for a minute about every last Nintendo cartridge-based system. What happened if you pulled out or put in a cartridge with the power on. You ran the risk of ruining not only the saved data, but the game itself. The only reason it works on a cd based system is because it has a virtual memory that it stores information in and stops reading from the disc so yo can change it. Sure the DS has an internal memory, but that gets wiped as soon as you turn off the power, which you would have to do to change out the cartridge. Therefore, any character data or collected items data would be lost as soon as you turn off the system to put a new cartridge in. I've been thinking about this though, and here's my solution...
With Castlevania: Dawn Of Sorrow, you can start a new game with the Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow cartridge in the GBA slot, and it will unlock a bonus item. The same is true with Mega Man ZX and Megaman Zero 1-4. Why not put that GBA slot to more use and make it a slot for a memory card style cartridge so you can save your mid-game data, turn off the system, and swap cartridges.
well arnt they makeing a new ds this year..mybe that would slove the prob. For those of you who are still in doubt that the picture is a fake or are desperately holding on to the idea that 2 cartridges would be cool, lets think about one thing...how the hell are you supposed to change the cartridges to continue the game??? God, I hope not...I'm not buying any nore systems for a while
do you all still remember the golden sun game from gba? they can use link cable to transfer game gba golden sun 1 to another gba with golden sun 2. or transfer with code. i think the dragon quest 9 might be transfer by code. suggestion only.leesyaoran2004
If the codes are going to be as long as it took for a complete transfer in GS, then I would be spending more time trying to get my saved data across than fighting the next metal slime I've been itching to get.
This isn't going to happen people. For one, the DS would either have to have an internal hard drive or a memory card for this to work (otherwise how in the hell would you be able to transfer your save file to the next card). Also if you are thinking they would make it to where you would pull the card from the DS and switch while the system is still on to keep your file then you are mistaken because the DS has a built in failsafe that when a card is removed from the DS while the system is still running it automatically shuts off. If the game is too big for the currently used cards the only thing that Square-Enix is going to do is mass-purchase larger SD cards to put the game on. It would be cheaper that way than buying twice as many of the smaller cards as your method would have them anyway. nintendonerd101
Didn't I say the same thing just a few posts earlier? Let's take a look...

I be damned...I sure as hell did!
I think it's time everyone quit the wild speculation and just be excited that the game will be coming out on the DS to begin with. Save some of the mystery for when the game actually arrives. I know there are going to be tons of fans that are going to be disappointed when the game is not two cartridges, but that's their own fault for getting their own hopes up in anticipation of some outstanding new technology and they'll start posting things like "what happened to the two cartridge version?" and "they should have made it longer and on two cartridges" and "what a rip-off"....all because they didn't pay attention.
Won't take much to top Zelda if it they continue to claim all-touch screen-control. I don't know about everyone else, but I'm getting sick of using the stylus to walk around environments in adventure games. Just because it's got a touch screen, it doesn't mean you have to use it for everything. Metroid Hunters was a good hybrid with the thumb pad movement and stylus targeting. But using the stylus to move around in Mario 64DS or Chocobo Tales got irrritating, so I switched. I'm not liking how the control scheme sounds for Zelda. But we'll save that for a different forum. Let's keep the gimmics out of the gameplay and just have a great title all around. MarkedByAshes
I'm with you man, the touch screen for movement is really irritating me. Let's just hope the game offers arrow key movement aswell as the touch screen. Yeah, I think they should keep the touch screen for, well mini-games, FPS shooters, and, umm anything thats not moving/controling your character in RPG/Adventure games. Anyway, on better notes, Dragon Quest looks, simply put - Amazing.

you can use the thumb pad in chocobo and FFIII instead the stylus (I din't play mario 64 and honestly it is not in my list)... I don't have any problem while you can choice how use your ds... like in ultimate spiderman that you can choice to control venom with or without the stylus, isn't the case of spiderman 3 that you to hit, web, avoid etc, you only use the stylus... frankly it make me upset!!!

Actually, I hadn't read all of the posts on the forum until after I had made my comment. I simply saw the thread and wanted to say my piece without taking the time to look at everything people had written. See, great minds think alike, thats all.
