Chapter 18 was a cake-walk (the one in the volcano) I've already been delaying some class promotions and have been trying to incorporate some of the lower level characters but my party is just too OP. Maybe it's all the pairing up. I love this mechanic, but it does feel like cheating at times. I'll definitely need to replay this on hard mode at some point.Meinhard1

Ok, started hard mode. Honestly, I've got previous experience with Fire Emblem, but this is just getting ridiculous. Why can't I take more than a single hit at most form a goddamn risen? Anyone have some tips? I seriously doubt I'll ever get to lunatic.

Yeah it is annoying but you pretty much have to have them come to you then you attack them set to kill. In Lunatic you WILL die from a single unit since everyone is fast and attacks twice.

Hmm. I played on hard/classic and I noticed that everytime I had to choose between an offensive or a defensive strategy, offence worked out better.

Yeah, hard/classic is whooping me pretty good. I keep letting my guard down near the end of battle and forgetting to put Lissa out of harms way and having to redo the whole level. I kind of wish it was setup like Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars where you could chose difficulty for each battle... but then it would no longer be Fire Emblem. Probably, I should just admit I suck and restart on normal. I've put like eight or ten hours into it according to my 3DS log but only have like three hours on my save since I have to figure out each level though trial and error.
Finally got my hands on a physical copy! My GameStop only got 3 in and I got the last copy. Looks like Black 2 will be retired for a while.Lebowski__basic

I don't know. I've never played Fire Emblem before. Can you go back to your old class after reclassing a character?
It's best to reclass characters when they learn the skills you want (Lv10/15). And yes, you can go back to the previous class once you reach Lv10.

Ok, thanks. I reclassed some of my master classed people, and have mapped out who I want where for Master classes. I may have backtracked a little, but I don't mind grinding a bit to get where I need to be. The DLC maps will help me afford all those seals :lol:
I was hoping the DLC would be extra-hard endgame type stuff, geared towards high level and maxed out units. Disappointingly, going by what I've seen so far it seems to be pretty low level and easy.

Oh don't worry. That will come, at least assuming all the Japanese content makes it over.
And it used to be that it would be stupid to class change before you were done leveing, but now it really doesn't matter.

Class changing is unlimited and level ups carry over... so you can just class change until you max all the stats. So yeah, no pressure. You only need to make it to level 15 for advanced classes and 10 for basic classes to learn their abilities.

I have not played Fire Emblem since Sacred Stones (Shadow Dragon bored me at the start) so I did not remember the caps. I will say the difficulty makes it not matter. The enemy numbers and reinforcements are ridiculous and I recently found out that "Take out the Commander" means kill the Commander as fast as you can, routing the enemy is very hard in those maps.
There hasn't been ANY copies here since launch! :evil:
Dammit Nintendo, if you don't ship more copies soon, i'll be playing Monster Hunter and Luigi's Mansion before this! I would very much prefer a physical copy so i'll pass on the eShop version... for now. :|

All of the game shops where I live got more copies sometime last week. The game was completely sold out before then.
sawit on bestbuy and walmart(not amazon though) so Im assuming Nintendo is printing more copies. but I have to import the game from playasia so it looks like I have to wait a few more weeks

I notice they only gain exp if they engage in battle. Is it better to give everyone a chance or focus on a few?

You'll probably end up with a core group, but it's best to be as diverse as possible. You don't want to just be stuck with a handful of paladins against an army of mages.

have you try buying the game online from either bestbuy or walmart? they have it in stock.
I just noticed that Radiant Dawn had third tier classes ... do you think those added anything to the game? Or did they just prolong the leveling process? This game obviously chose to forgo them in favor of a more detailed class/reclass/skills system.
