this game excites me i may buy it looks alot better then the conduit
hopefully its like l4d but not a downgraded version wit limited maps and it better have DLC
Nice looking pistols, I can't wait.
Mercenary848
The Shotgun looks sweet as well.
I thought my excitement for the Conduit would be unsurpassed, but after this first look at the Grinder, I'm really wanting the Grinder more than the Conduit.
I still intend on buying the Conduit, but as good as I think it will be, I believe that the Grinder may by far surpass it.
hopefully they have verus mode where u can play as the monsters
also another cool mode would be a rts type of thing where 1 person controls where the monsters spawn while the group of 4 play through the map
also conduit is no halo 3
Artistically speaking, a nice step-up from The Conduit. And I admire HVS's will to continue finding new ways to push the Wii's graphical capabilities. They still seem to struggle with those environments tho but hey, the game isn't coming anytime soon so there's time.
Still not getting too excited about it, we'll see at E3.
Let's all just enjoy The Conduit and give HVS time to polish Gladiator A.D. and The Grinder. Remember, we need to constantly give them feedback, because they took it to heart with The Conduit. They appreciate their fans and are more than happy to incorporate what they want into the game, as long as it's doable. The Conduit took a while to get here, so expect the same for their next 2 games. They'll see delays, too. We all know it.
So let's all play The Conduit and offer them our feedback about what we liked and disliked about it, then they can fix the negatives in their next FPS, The Grinder.
Holiday 2010?..dang. Can't wait to see what they can do between now and then, that's certainly a long ways away.Looks all right so far. The interview sounds like they're nowhere near finalizing how the game will actually turn out... and with a holiday 2010 release plan, I'm surprised they're revealing it so soon since it sounds like quite a bit could change before release. Their plans seem solid, though, and it looks quite a bit flashier than their other games.

IMO This game looks friggin sweet. So just in third party titles the Wii is getting the following (mostly exlusive) games:
Conduit, TMNT Smash Up, RE:DC, Dead Space: Extraction, Spyborgs, Red Steel 2, NMH2, Gladiator & The Grinder.
Overall looks damn good to be a Wii owner.
Well the rely heavily on fan feedback for design decisions, the earlier you get it out there the more feedback you can get. What better way to design games than to take advice from the very audience that you want to buy the game, instead of just doing guess work for what fans want. I'm happy to see a development of this caliber taking place on the Wii, I just hope other developers look to this and up the ante from ports and shovelware.Looks all right so far. Being that The Conduit is ratedT, don't you think HVS knows that?Well, I can't say I'm a big fan of zombie shooters, but what I CAN say is that I love online co-op. So I'll keep an eye out.
I'm not into super bloody games--and I think HVS needs to remember, as I said before with Gladiator, that hardcore doesn't mean buckets of blood. I think The Conduit will sell. These two new games from them seem to have too specific audiences. I appreciate HVS's work, and I think they're doing a fantastic job of creating games that push the Wii's hardware. But, I think they're getting a little too ambitious. The Conduit isn't even out yet. They might be digging themselves into a pretty deep hole. I hope I'm wrong.

My hype meter just broke.
Wont be out for another year and a half and it already looks that good... 4 player online, split screen co-op, VAMPIRES AND WEREWOLVES, customizable controls, dark environments, good soundtrack from the samples they gave...
I'm sorry, but The Conduit who???
and also... encourage every wii owner you know to buy the conduit... so that they have the money to improve the grinder even further....greenarcher02
If the game is reviewed well I certainly will.. Hopefully quality is rewarded with success, if quality is what we recieve.
It's amazing how HVS is focusing on features or genres that are seriously lacking in Wii games. I don't see how any Wii owner, who wants a core experience, have no respect for HVS? When they talk about there games...they are not boasting or selling...they just showing excitement for things that we've all been clamoring for. I'd feel the same way too if I were on to something good!
You know here is what I am beginning to like about HVS...They seem to know who they are, and that is huge. And what I mean by that is that they know they are a bunch of tech heads that can make pretty graphics. They may not be the most innovative and artistic bunch, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. They are basically like, what would we like to play on Wii, ok let's go copy a game and tech the crap out of it. One of my favorite PC games of the 90's were the Freespace flight sims. Now there was absolutely nothing new or particularly innovative about the games, but the execution was near flawless. That is what HVS should shoot for...great execution of a concept.
And personally, the fact they replaced zombies (of which there are 4 BILLION zombie games) with Vampires and Werewolves is freakin Awesome. I think the game already looks great from the screens and I hope for some footage at E3

:shock:Split screen co-op.........online co-op......vampires and werewolves. Count me in!! This games looks nasty! There is still a year and a half to go, can't wait to see what they can do from now to then. Thank You HVS!
it is nice to see a dev outside nintendo make the wii stretch its legs and on the tech side HVS are doing a cracking job. i still cant see why some devs like epic are ignoring the wii. yes they wont be able to go as far as they can on the other platforms in terms of tech but there is also a great sense of pride in getting a console to do the seemingly impossible. imagine there was a dev who got crysis to run on the wii. impossible u say...dont make me laugh u say....never going to happen. and id agree...it would be impossible. but imagine ure the dev who manages to proove everyone wrong. think of the kudos. and on a side note...the freespace games were and remain exceptionally brilliant games. i also think games like that would be fantastic on the wii. hint hint HVS :P.You know here is what I am beginning to like about HVS...They seem to know who they are, and that is huge. Don't think anyone has mentioned this yet, but notice how much blood the first three game displays on wii.ign.com present. The Grinder, Gladiator A.D., and Dead Space: Extraction.
And they say that the Wii is plaguedwith "kiddy" games :|
[QUOTE="Head_of_games"]BTW, any thoughts on a publisher? Will Sega pick this up again? It seems more like a capcom game IMO. Ubisoft perhaps?hiyo2345
I really want EA to publish this. They already have a friend-codeless online anyway.
Good idea! EA nation would work well for this! However, I wouldn't mind if they used whatever they are using for The Conduit and let us carry over our profiles. You know here is what I am beginning to like about HVS...They seem to know who they are, and that is huge. y'know, this is what ive been saying there's nothing wrong with generic/unoriginality as long as it's done well id be bothered if it was just an average rip, but they're games look like superb games merely inspired by other games[QUOTE="bakerk2002"]y'know, this is what ive been saying there's nothing wrong with generic/unoriginality as long as it's done well id be bothered if it was just an average rip, but they're games look like superb games merely inspired by other gamesYou know here is what I am beginning to like about HVS...They seem to know who they are, and that is huge. Exactly, look the history of gaming is littered with Arthouse games like Too Human and Daikatana that are "groundbreaking", "original" and basically developers pet projects. The problem is that despite being in development for a decade, the passion goes into certain aspects of the game, others get completely forgotten about and taked on. The result is that so many "original" games end up being over long, disjointed self-indulgent messes. Sometimes it is better to copy an idea and just implement it really, really well.

looks like a Left 4 Dead for the wii lol awesome anyways :Dorb_03_2006
That would be exactly what they are aiming for- they're trying to make a Left 4 Dead style game for the Wii.
From the sound of things, it already sounds really good.
I'm not sure if I'm looking forward more to the Grinder or Gladiator A.D. though...
"AJ is the sole survivor of a Slasher attack. She knows that it's only a matter of time before the unkillable monster that slaughtered her sorority sisters on a weekend camping trip catches up with her to finish the job. " Bahahahahahha that is so lame.Jimmi323
Haha, glad to see I wasn't the only one who lol'd at that! They were kinda vague as to if this game is supposed to be comical or serious, but after reading that, I hope it's going for the funny, like Overkill.
Another thing they were vague on was swordplay and Motion+. If they successfully pull of the bastard child of Red Steel 2 and Left 4 Dead, we have a winner.
Looks awesome! Can't wait to see what they do with this in the next year. Can't wait to finally get The Conduit in my hands in a couple weeks as well. If it's as good as i'm anticipating, HVS will already have my money in the bag for The Grinder (well, considering the games content, they already do. I'm a sucker for classic monsters).
Glad SOMEONE is taking the time to create these types of games for Wii since the established and well known devs can't seem to be bothered with it.
Now we need Southpeak to allow Renegade Kid to finish Son of the Dragon! (RK is supposedly "hard at work on a new secret game, which will be annonced in 2009". Let's hope its for Wii and its something along the same lines as SotD!)
This looks really interesting. The only issue I have with Wii FPS' with dual gun usage is that you can'tindependently aim both guns for example, you can't aim the left gun to an enemy on the left side of the screen and aim the right gun at an enemy on the right side of the screen. If they can do that, I'll be sold already.
