This went about as well as serving steak at a vegan family reunion.
Honestly the only thing that could have made everything suck more was if they said we owed back taxes on all of our Wii's and we each had to pony up dough.

If you do all three it will be just like you were there.
Ignore him scar, he's just pissed at basically everything and nothing.
Here's all the info on the JPN and US conference.
JPN

I'm not impressed with the DSi. Camera, music, and just a slightly bigger screen. They said nothig about innovating the handheld experience. Obviously you need a better connection for the DS wi-fi that's a no brainer. There's nothing there.
Now for Wii, Nintendo is finally doing with what should've been done in the very first place- placing VC games directly on the SD card.
Wii Speak channel was a pretty good idea. The games: RRR 3, Punch Out Wii, Sin & PUnishment 2, Call of Duty 5, Wii Music, The Conduit. It's an ok list here.
I hope you enjoy 2001 and all the Gamecube games you can play
The rest of us are going to play "Futureman" and play games less then half a decade old.
Jaysonguy
You realize that wasn't the entire conference?
There's a difference between disliking a certain segment, and disliking the entire conference altogether.
Sounds like the Gamecube ports are all that's ruffled your feathers.

I'm amazed about how negative an cynical you can be even after such a GREAT conference.

2 dated games
New DS with less battery life and less of a library plus throw in a crappy camera
Nintendo club that may or may not count retroactive points
SD card support
All in all pretty blah, we already knew about one game, Sin and Punishment was a surprise and that's good.
Then they show us that they're going to screw over Wii owners by remaking games we've already played before
So it was average, then Nintendo said they're going to pretend it's 2001
Then it was awful
i really dont see why jasonguy has to whine about everything

He probably thinks both conferences needed MOAR WII MUSIC!

SD card supprt has been wanted for quite some time. No matter if it's needed or not.
Nintendo Club without retroactive points would still be better than no Nintendo Club. I think it's safe to say we won't be getting retroactive points anyway, because that'd require Nintendo handing out tons of goodies right away.
Not all Wii owners have played those Gamecube games. In fact, I'd say the majority of Wii owners have never even heard of those games. Nintendo has a whole new audience, and this is a way of letting those newcomers play those old games without having to track them down on the internet.
The new DS is an updated one, not really a new one. So it's not like we're required to buy the updated one to enjoy upcoming games.
Don't like the new DS? Great, they're still making the same games for yours too.
THERE WERE MORE GAMES THAN JUST PO AND S&P2
ALSO ANNOUNCED WERE DYNAMIC SLASH, TAKT FOR MAGIC(rpg) AND COSMIC WALKER
and those were just the nintnedo published titles
I thought it went rather well, Sin and Punishment 2 is big suprise, and im really happy bout that, punchout looks good, but i dont know about the controls. Mario 3 looks awesome, new DS is meh, but i think the DS store for wii to save games onto SD card to play on ds is pretty smart.
And then theres the GC games coming to wii with new controls. I do not know why people are getting so mad about this, because i thought it wasnt that bad of an idea. Nintendo now has so many more people playing wii then gc, just look at the sales, so they are making gc games onto wii with wii controls. I doubt they are going out of there way to make this, and i dont think they are going to rerelease these games and not release new wii games, because they are still making new games, it just takes time. If the price is right, il probably pick up some of these games.
im not sure i understand whats going on with them releasing the cube games.... are they remaking them for the wii? that doesnt make much sense to me since we can already play them...
the new dsi looks good.. internet, ds ware, photo and audio. i think it would be better if they made a new system rather than upgrading an old one, but im not complaining.
other than that, everything looks great! im very happy about fire emblem: shadow dragon coming to the states.
idk why jasonguy thinks that this was such a horrible conference.. true, im not exited about the cube re releases, but thats just one thing.
Then was re releasing Xbox games one of Microsoft's worst idea's ever???It was a 6/10
Punchout is great, but re-realsing gamecube games is one of nintendos worst ideas ever.
C-Lee
9/10.
Im really happy. Endless Ocean, Wii Speak Channel, Trace Memory!, S+P2, Mario 3, DSi, Gamecube thing is cool, Punch Out and all the short snippets looked awesome.
Specially the 2.5 game.. Koloni? And also the space one looks nice.
I wish Disaster and Fatal Frame were given US dates though.

Wow. stop raining on everyones parades with all your self thought bull ****, no one cares what you have to say.
The conference was as disappointing as Nintendo have been ever since Mario Galaxy came out, if it wasn't for my kids I would be happy to sell the Wii which would make it the first Nintendo console I have ever done so with. I seem to be extremely out of touch with the posters on this board these days who either have low standards this gen or are just trying to reassure themselves that their choice in hardware was a good investment, but I saw nothing in that montage of footage from the conference to rekindle my faith that the technical limitations of the Wii will be pushed or that the motion controls are going to do something which is actually innovative ever again.
Please try and compose yourselves and not flame me for posting my opinion, failure to do so will only confirm my suspicion that many of you are also insecure about the future of the hardware you have purchased.
It was pretty disappointing for me aswell! First of all they haven`t announced ANY good game for the Wii. Super Punch Out is the the old-school game everybody will be happy about it? I don`t think so. Nintendo has so many great IPs why did they have to choose the one with the most simpel gameplay? Lets face it, Punch Out was a great title in the 80s but now it`s totally mediocre.
Re-releasing old Gamecube games for the Wii? Not a bad idea but i am not willed to pay 30€ for slightly enchanced game, which goes for about 10€ on ebay.
New Sd-card feature as a solution to the spaceproblem? It took them 2 years to develop a stupid Softwareupdate??? Come thats a shame even for Nintendo.
I used to be agreat Fan of Nintendo but now i am simply disappointed of them. If it weren`t to the fact that i own a japanese Wii and nobody is willing to buy such one, i would have sold it a long time ago!
Ugh, why? Since when is doing extra by even bothering to make ports for old games, plus making the sequels to those franchises a bad thing. People are complaining and don't even know to what extent they're doing these games. Then there's the fact these games only get scarcer and scarcer, you can't download them to VC, and gamestop only gets most of them used, if they throw wifi in then its a fantastic idea, people will complain about anything these days.
It was a 6/10

This is what I was replying too. And Jayson you sound like a trolling cry baby.
I wouldn't say it was a bad conference but you guys are going over the top.
Also is there a video of the conference somewhere? I've only caught information but not actually seen it, it might be my problem :P, I want to see it reguardless though.
BTW, i checked youtube for it and found nothing.

I didn't have expectations.
I thought we'd get one new game and some stuff down the line that we may or may not get
The entire conference was eh.
Then Nintendo told us that instead of dedicating their resources to new games they're also going to take all the old games that we've already beaten and played again (even on the Wii) and they're going to dedicate time and energy making them again on the Wii.
Not new games mind you but old games. Old games that we've already played.
Old games anyone with a Wii can play right now too.
10/10
Endless Ocean, Wii Speak Channel, Trace Memory!, S+P2, Mario 3, DSi, Gamecube thing is alright, Punch Out and all the short snippets looked awesome.
Anyone else not understand that the DSi has done nothing to innvoative or improve upon anything?
Better wi-fi and a bigger screen are no brainers. You have a camera and a music player....ok now tell me the significance of that in me playing video games. Because this is a video game system! DSi has done nothing.
Awesome I think we should just ignore E3 next year and just pay attention to this conference.
They announced many interesting games 2009 looks better then 2008 and maybe 2007.
DSi looks interesting they said they will have some games for the DSi that use the Camera and Music in games.
I also like that you can play Wiiware and VC games on the DSi using an SD Card.
Storage Solution. (Eventhough I didn't have any problems with Storage yet)

So you can already play those games with motion controls?
You must have gotten a special copy.
