I understand you, but couldn't care less for the online "missing" component. Really, Metroid IS a single player experience as is not a FPS but FPA, despite every similarity.
Anyway, if you're looking for a FPS hopefully MoH:H2 could be the one you're looking to, specially if you NEED online play

"GamePro: Will Metroid Prime 3 have any online modes?
Michael Kelbeugh: No. It's something we talked about early on, but we only have so many resources. We opted to devote those resources to making a better single-player experience." http://www.gamepro.com/news.cfm?article_id=119768
You can't expect them to sacrifice the quality of the single player just to give you your FPS fix. Just because Metroid is first person and has a Sci-Fi setting doesn't mean they should shoe-horn a multiplayer mode in. You don't like the Prime series? That's fine don't buy it, just don't expect them to alter one of the best gaming series ever just so the FPS nuts are satisfied.
Metroid isn't supposed to be a multiplayer game in the first place... If you don't like it then I guess its your loss.hohothemanly
I thinkthose people who claim to be Prime fans that arewanting online multiplayerare actually Prime Hunter fans who're having an identity crisis lol. After MPH came out, people were expecting to see online in MPC.

Metroid Prime Hunters was a single player flop.
Not one fan of the franchise thought it would go that direction.

Yeah, I totally agree. The single player had barely any depth and I didn't even like the multiplayer either.
Who really needs a multiplayer metroid? Kikouken
Yeah, It's great eitherway. If you get it you'll still love it. :D
The Metriod Universe should never have Multiplayer IMO. Its a beautiful single player game, and it should stay that way. You want another dumb-frat-boy-shooter-multiplayer, go to another console, they have plenty. LEAVE METRIOD ALONE.
jeez people still treat this game like a FPS and its NOT a FPS, but more of a FPA.. and I like it that way.

Considering there's never been a console version that WASN'T singleplayer you just don't like Metroid, it happens.
Plenty of other titles out there, enjoy.
Well.... Not on the Wii anyway.
DS is a handheld not a console. Or is it?...

Whats the DS have to do with any of this?
If you want multiplayer online buy anXbox. I personaly like single player games with 20-30 hours of play. I've been playing metroid games for 20 years and could care less ifit has a multiplayer component. I own a 360 and refuse to buy gears of war because it's six hours long.jdc6305

Nvm, I thought you were saying there was a Metroid that wasn't single-player based on a console lol. What were you saying though? I'm confused :|

He is trying to emphasize on the fact that he prefers games with long single player campaigns. While GeOw is one hell of a game, he is not going to buy it becasue its single player is only 6 hours long. Compare that to Metriod, which gives you dozens and dozens of hours in single player, (but not multiplayer but thats fine becasue he really doesn't care for multiplayer on metriod).
Well if there gonna be that lazy i aint buying it. Ill stick to medal of honor heroes 2.BVP16

The previous poster said there are plenty of other games out there to enjoy. My resonse to that was, "Yeah... On other Platforms" Seeing as there are only a handful of worth while Wii game out right now. And most of the good ones are available on other consoles anyway.

Not true but you can have your opinion.
I of course don't agree

Thx you said it better then I could have. Yes this whole multiplayer craze it driving me nutz and I hate it. As far as I'm concerned it'sruining gaming.Someone prior to this post said "gears is one hell of a game" yeah but wouldnt have been better if it were longer then 6 hours long?I personaly think gaming companiesare taking a cop outwhen they start adding multiplayer components. It's a cheap way of reducing manufacture time but they can still charge full price.

Well, Im desperate for more Wii games, so I'm open to your opinion. Other than RE4 and Super Paper Mario what else is there thats worth getting on the Wii? I already have TP on the Gamecube and theres no way Im buying the same game twice. I didn't like Super Monkey Ball Bana Blitz and I don't care for Sonic and the Secret Rings. And since Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 will have online I'm not going to buy TK2.
What else is there?

Oh, I see
Sorry for the misconception. i thought you were referring to the first part of his post about metroid games.
Retro studios only have limited resources. It wa either multiplayer or a much better single player. They just chose the latter, get over it dude. Also they aren't being lazy, they just wanted to make the best single player experience for US so just be grateful k?groudyogre

Personally, I think a game being short isn't all that bad. It means you can beat it without having to spend months on it. And some games just drag on. Some games don't need fourty hours to get the point across. And if the game is good enough(like Gears) you'll want to go back and play it again. If they AI is good enough in a game, no two fights in the same level will turn out the same. I liked Gear so much I've gone through it several times. And co-operative play, online or locally just adds alot more fun.
And yes, multiplayer can add alot to a game.
If you don't like multiplayer thats fine. But just because a game is long I don't think that it should mean it's single player is better. Some times I think short is good. Alo of my favorite games are short.
Gears of War, Shadow of the Colossus and the Metal Gear series, just to name a few.
I'd play MGS3(about 12 hors long) over Tales of Syphonia(sixty hours long)anyday.

Don't worry about it.
I dont like metroid singleplayer, to much scanning and back tracking. But i would of bought this game for the online. But i guess 8 months isnt enough time for nintendo to add that. Well if there gonna be that lazy i aint buying it. Ill stick to medal of honor heroes 2. That game will have good singeplayer and good online multiplayer.BVP16
well it sounds like you just don't like metroid games in general then. the single player has always been the star of the show. "all that scanning and backtracking" is what the game is about, it's not some nintendo call of duty clone like you were hoping. multiplayer was in prime 2 and iirc it wasn't all that good.

I thought scanning was introduced in Prime. I'm pretty sure it wasn't apart of Metroid before that.
