I wouldnt have bought it. SSBM was the only game i played for the gamecube. the Wii is better then gamecube,but in all honesty i only bought one for SSBB.
I think SSBM is easily one of the most over-rated games in a long time and couldn't care less if the game never was made. I have a Wii. That is my response.
ya, i never cared for SSB... so even hearing about the wii version doesn't appeal to me. I bought my wii at launch because of the potential i see in the direction they are trying to take the industry. i knew they had a hit on their hands, and wanted to get on board ASAP.
i'm surprised at how many of you don't LIVE for that game. i thought i was the only one.
Maybe......I *kind* of wanted a Wii, especially cause Zelda was gonna be on it, but I didn't want to buy an entire console JUST for one game, you know? So the new Super Smash kinda sold me I guess :P  Plus the cheaper price.
I love my Wii. And I am not really a Smash fan. I might get it but whatever. Right now its all about Starfox 64, Sonic ASR, the upcoming Resident Evils and Wii Sports.
whoa i never new the smash bros series was actually not cared about by nintendo fans! I like SSBM and I'm planning on getting brawl but i bought my wii for a ton of reasons SSBB wasn't even really a factor of me getting a wii at launch.

Then why do you have a Wii right now if you don't want any other games because Brawl isn't coming out for a while.
Totally!, Nintendo was, is and it's gonna be part of my life as always...and this situation not depends of SSB, 'cause when I started to play Nintendo Smash Bros. didn't think in appear.
Wasn't the reason I bought a wii. And why did you wait at launch for 5 hours to get a wii to get SSB if the game doesn't come out till the end of this year?
SSB had absolutely nothing to do with my purchase. I may buy it when it comes out but I'm not really looking forward to it in the way that I am looking forward to Galaxy. That being said, even Galaxy had nothing to do with my purchase. I bought the Wii for the games that were already available, otherwise I would have waited. It would be insane to buy a console for a game (or games) that won't come out for a year or more. Especially with the Wii being so hard to find, why would you go to all that trouble unless you're craving some of what the Wii has to offer in the present.
yeah i would have definatly still bought it! Zelda, Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, the fact that it's nintendo, and then smash bros convinced to get the wii, and then i read up on the remote! so i had to get it!

I would probably have seriously thought about getting a 360 instead. Zelda I could have gotten on the Game Cube, and Mario Galaxy could be passed. I considered the 360 and Wii to be dead even games wise, but the Wii was 200 dollars cheaper, but without Smash Bros. 360 weren't certainly surpass it.
Of course.... I bought it for Sonic and the Secret Rings, and now there's loads of games I now want when they come out, and they dont include SSB (yet).
Yes, I'd have gotten my Wii if SSb would have never been. Yeah, I'll buy SSBB now but, at the time I bought Wii Super Smash Brothers wasn't really a necessity for me although now it is, maybe. Anyway, I would have became A Wii owner nonetheless.
Even though I have been a Sony guy mostly, I would have still gotten the Wii. The main reason being the cost difference between the consoles. But, SSB is definitly a perk to having a Nintendo system.
