I'm upset with other Wii owners.

Okokok. This board is flooded with "What games do you want for the Wii." Or "What games do you want to be announced at E3". I've become HIGHLY annoyed at fellow Wii gamers on this board the last week. Why? I'll explain.

In these topics I see littering this board, you all scream and shout for more Nintendo 1st party titles. Only natural, considering Nintendo is debatedly the best developer ever. Don't get me wrong, I love Zelda, Mario, Pikmin, Starfox, etc. as much as the next Nintendo fan... but is this all you want?

I think I've seen MAYBE one other person besides myself say "More games from 3rd party developers."

I'm urging you to WANT MORE than JUST another Zelda from Nintendo. Or JUST another Mario game. Sheesh. This is one of the biggest reasons people bash the Wii. "Awful 3rd party support." And maybe the reason is the Wii owners that ONLY live off of 1st party games.

There's many great 3rd party games out there for the Wii. (EDIT: Not to mention promising looking 3rd party titles in store for us in the future.)

Just something to think about. Any thoughts?

They are saying this, because it is speculation and they really believe this is an opportunity for Nintendo to reveal some of their big games for the major franchises. It's not about not wanting 3rd party games. They are always welcome. I want more good 3rd party title games to come out. But there havent been many.

Well really I'm cutting back on buying games, I don't want my wii collection to get as out of control as my DS collection.

But at E3 it's one of those giant events where you want to see the big names. Like Pikmin 3 and Animal Crossing. Sure you like to see the 3rd party but while your building up hype for the event all you think about are the big titles. Another thing is you never know what title a 3rd party developer might announce it could be something you never heard of, with 1st party you know what's gonna come it's tradition and you can relate to it.

E3 is Nintendo's big event. Everyone knows it. Whenever they announce a new game for a major franchise (eg. Zelda), it's at E3.

Also, people are getting excited and anxious because right now, Nintendo's 2nd-half of '08 is, for the most part, unknown. We've already heard about a bunch of 3rd-party titles coming up later this year, but we know very little about Nintendo's lineup.

The Wii still has maybe 5 years to live, its highly probable that it will recieve better 3rd party support than its predescesors in that time, but Im not expecting much...

If I want better 3rd party games, Id might as well turn to the PS3 or 360...

im always up for ideas but they have to be NEW. Im fine with the idea of a futuristic Zelda and stuff but i hate when they a person Describes how they want a new game in a seires to be and they end up just describing an already exsistng game in a different seires or they dont even try to describe it they just say it. I want mario but i want him more like God of War.

the thing is we are familiar with nintendo franchises because they are pretty much endless sequels so we can sit here and go "omg I want a new pikmin and then a new zelda and maybe a new star fox"

3rd party devs tend to make all new series so we can't go "what game do you want announced at E3" and say "I hope someone makes a game called Dead Run where zombies come in swarms and you want to escape the city" because its a new idea. We have no idea if something like it is in the works or could potentially be in the works.

Thats why the only thing 3rd party you ever see on the forum is "WII WANT RE5" or "Wouldn't Halo for the wii be so cool"

I'm sick of it too but thats pretty much why.

All I see on the forums are

"What ______ at E3"

"Who's ur favorite brawl character guyz"

"I hate mario kart its too hard"

"Wouldn't a new Kid Icarus game be cool"

"I have a question about..." (these are usually something totally stupid like "my wii won't turn on because my outlet isn't working")

or something totally ignoring a stickied thread like "Ok guys should I get Mario Kart or Metroid"

EDIT: (I forgot a really annoying one) "Guys I'm sick of my wii. I might sell it"

I don't give a **** if a game is 1st party, 2nd party, or 3rd party. I just really don't care. But I do know that I really like Zelda games, and I want another.

Is there something wrong with that?

I totally noticed and i feel the same way! And there is no small good threads anymore is all big huge complains or rants or predictions or boreing stuff that only complainers care about.

Both of you have pretty much summed up how I feel about this issue. I do think that there are fun games out there for the Wii, but they are not what I am looking for.

I'm a wii owner and I love every game on the wii... But I think that doin well on that own games then third party gamesthegreatest641

The same can be said about the 360 and PS3. There are some stellar third party games, but only a few...The rest are just average. The amount of amazing first party stuff on the wii is about equal in quantity to the amazing third party stuff on the other consoles. Everything else is just good, not great.

I'm honestly surprised that hardly anyone knew that we'd get a LOT of lack of 3rd party support. The combined revolutionary technology in the Wii followed up with the lack of graphics the Wii has in comparison to the PS3 and XBOX 360 made it quite certain that wii lack 3rd party suppport. I KNOW I'm the only one on these boards that knew from the beginning as well, but no one personally. :(

You should've all seen it coming I really don't know why you didn't :? Except maybe for those 1st time gamers...

The thing is, by the very natureof asking "what do you want on the Wii", you're actually asking what people want from Nintendo. Nintendo is of course just as much an in house developer as a hardware manufacturer and as we all know Nintendo makes some of if not the best games on the market. A Wii and Nintendo fan thinks of Nintendo games when asked about games on their Nintendo system. We can't really fault ouselves.

the point i'm tryng to make is that, i personlly believe, that asking a Nintendo fan what they want on the Wii is different than asking someone else what they want on their Xbox or Playstation. And then it's not all that different. Certain systems have certain games related to them. # months ago if you asked someone what they want on the PS3 they'd say Metal Gear or GTA. games associated with that system. For Xbox you'd get Halo or Gears of War. Wii gets Zelda and Metroid and the like. It's all relative and nintendo systems just happen to get Nintendo games. The answers are only natural.

though it should be noted that I do think your enthusiasm for 3rd party games is great. And despite this post I firmly agree with that sentiment. Right now, Tales of Symphonia and Star Wars are my 2 most anticipated games. Oh and the Conduit.

I can't stand when people ask "What games are coming at E3?" it really defeats the purpose. The point of the E3 Gaming Conference is to hear about new upcoming games and to show off new games/hardware.

Not to get people talking about sitting around waiting for a conference to announce games, and then these games won't even be released until months/years later.

Nintendo fans are amost crusader-like in their zealotry for nintendo's first party titles. I say bring on more 3rd party titles. We all could use more "No More Heroes" Power_Wrist

Finally, I was going through this, and I saw someone mention "No More Heroes", I am currently playing through it, and I can only say WOW!!, before buying this game I had 4 Nintendo games and a game made by Sega for the Wii, The games made by Nintendo are great but you need to have 3rd party games to, if your only buying first party games, then I feel sorry for you, Games like Brawl, Corruption, Galaxy are great, but you always and will always in own opinion need 3rd party games. next time I go to a Video Game store, I'll pick up Okami, and after that something else. and if you have 3rd party games and don't have any games by Nintendo, then pick Brawl, Corruption, and Galaxy. best Nintendo games on the Wii yet.

There's heaps of these threads because E3 is only a few weeks away, and Nintendo is being very secretive of what they're going to announce. They're hyping E3 making statements like "we have several hardcore titles to announce", so I don't blame anyone for being excited for what's in store for us next, as we really have no idea besides Animal Crossing.

However, the same threads being made all the time is annoying and the search function should be used more.

Remember, people buy Nintendo systems mainly for Nintendo games, so their hype will always take priority over third parties unless it involves a big name franchise like Resident Evil.
