No. Hardcore fans love the game. People bashing TP are morons. There is not a single valid claim. NOT ONE. It was the best Zelda.
There are only so many superb games on the Wii. So TP being your favorite still. Completely legitimate. Its mine too. With Metroid Prime 3 a very close second.
There are still some..ahem, "hardcore zelda fans" who bash it, without much much legitimate reason. They remind me a lot of idiots who pretty much hate every movie they see. Some people will just never be satisfied. Its not bad a bad thing at all, it was a great game and i thoroughly enjoyed it as well. As long as you like it that's all that matters, and all the naysayers of the game can dislike it all they want, doesn't mean it wasn't good and we cant enjoy it.

Agreed. That's fine it's your favorite, but it's definitely not mine.
I agree with Jayson though, it's one of the worst by far imo
It had sooooooo much potential, but unfortunately did not deliver imo. I've been playing since day one, and again... it's not even close to my favorite. Midna though, is my favorite Zelda character. Too bad, they shot her down

Well, um, if you want a completely legitimate reason why it wasn't as good as others, it's that it was WAY too similar to every other major Zelda game. Besides that it's a fantastic game.@Jason, could you please elaborate on why you hate it so much? Haven't you said that you haven't even beaten it yet before?
It's still my favorite too. I love many Wii games but Zelda will always win. I imagine it will stay my favorite until the next Wii Zelda comes out. And people who say this is a bad game have issues. Saying its too similar to other Zelda's is a valid criticism (you really could say that about most Zeldas with the exception of Zelda II, Majora's Mask and Phantom Hourglass). Even then a similiar product to an amazing series can't really be considered bad just not original. I can't even recall Nintendo ever making a bad game (there are quite a few mediocre ones such as Yoshi's Story though) let alone a Zelda game. At least personally for me Twilight Princess is my 2nd favorite Zelda game under A Link To The Past. Now if they did a Wind Waker Wiimake and added that extra dungeon that was cut out then I may reconsider.
Nothing wrong with that. My favorite Wii game is still Super Smash Brothers Brawl and that has been out for nearly a year and a half or so.
For me Super Mario Galaxy is my favorite Wii game, however Twilight Princess is my second. Metroid Prime Trilogy would be third.
I'm gonna go ahead and say that it is NOT a bad thing that Twilight Princess is your favorite game. Hell, it's still my second favorite game (I like it more than Mario Galaxy which is also stellar). But my favorite Wii game is Suda 51 and Grasshopper Manufacture's No More Heroes! Most badass game I've played this entire console gen, hands-down!
*shrug* Something has to be your favourite, TP is as good a choice as any. Heck, my favourite wii game is Mario Strikers.
It seems that we share the same taste. No More Heroes is also my favorite game of this gen. Twilight Princess actually being a distant second (and Zelda is my favorite franchise) Metroid Prime 3 would be a very close 3rdI'm gonna go ahead and say that it is NOT a bad thing that Twilight Princess is your favorite game. Mine would read:
No More Heroes
Twilight Princess (a distant second)
Mario Galaxy (a close third)
We do have a bit of a similarity, except that I don't like Metroid Prime 3: Corruption at all. I think it pales very much so next to the two previous Prime games. On the other hand, I think Galaxy is a huge step up from Sunshine. I don't know, I figure people will always have similarities but no one will be exactly alike. That's be wierd. :P
i pretty much feel the same way . the wii has a huge good release gap for me , my favs are already pretty old , finished , and replaying them wouldnt make much sense becaus i've got plenty other games on my other systems to finish yet , however after MK ,SMG ,RE4 , Bully , Okami, NMH there were almost no games that would interest me and when i had to choose a top notch mutiplat game vs. a average wii exclusive you can guess what my choice is , but finally something good will come , i mean the new mario .....
Twilight princess is my favorite game from this generation (I own wii, ps3, ds, and pc). Exploring hyrule is very awe inspiring. There is something special about that game.

It seems like there is a fair amount.
TP was my first venture into the 3D zelda games. After my amazing experience with Okami on the PS2, and people comparing it with zelda. This franchise had a lot to prove. It met that challenge with the mediocre game known as TP.

Name just a few please.
How can you possibly find Zelda TP mediocre? Sheer scope of the game, quality of the dungeons, one of the more original stories in the franchise, tons of new cool weapons, finishing combos introduced, great controls, great artstyle.
The only knock on the game and I'll concede this, is that it probably could've used a bump in production values (orchestrated music for example). And the game was on the easier side of things.
But really, this game is so polished. So if you actually have complaints, list them. Mediocre, definitely not.

False, there are many valid complaints. Way too easy, and cut and paste design of past games come to mind immediately.

In my eyes it is mediocre compared with Okami. If i actually compared them point by point. The only category where TP would win is puzzles.
I agree. People who say TP isn't the best, for this or that reason, have valid points. But saying it isn't the best Zelda, is a long way from saying it stinks aranom
Superb=/=mediocre=/=bad
5/10 in this instance doesn't mean that it stinks. It just means that my reaction to the game is a big meh.

Well, first off, I love TP. But two VERY major complaints is that, as I said before, it is extremely similar to every other Zelda. The next is the easy difficulty. Other valid complaints include: a relatively empty overworld, lack of interesting characters, lack of worthwhile sidequests, and badly played out wolf sections (finding the tears of light.
With all that said, I still think it's an amzing game, but it just was too much of the same in the end.
They walk a fine line with Zelda. If it's too different from previous games people complain about it, if it's too similar to previous games people still complain about it.False, there are many valid complaints. Way too easy, and cut and paste design of past games come to mind immediately.

They walk a fine line with Zelda. If it's too different from previous games people complain about it, if it's too similar to previous games people still complain about it. Obviously it has to be similar because of how great past Zeldas were. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. However, while they must be similar to past titles in the franchise, there has to be enough new material to keep the series fresh. TP didn't have enough new ideas. Other complaints include the huge world being far too empty and skewed (they might as well have made the world the same size as OoT's), the puzzles and bosses being far too easy, the storyline not feeling as fresh or epic, the free-roam being much too restricted until late in the game, the wolf gameplay being too tedious, etc. It's a solid game and Zelda is my favorite franchise, but for some of us (especially those of us that have played through every Zelda title) it was still a disappointment. After 2 years he wii has been out my favorite game is a game that came out right as the wii did. I don't think that is necessary a bad thing, my favorite PS3 game is still MGS4 and for 360 (while i don't have one) is still DOA4.
