Tales of Symphonia 2 also deserves a mention, probably going to be one of the best Wii games of 08. Can't wait.Erebyssial

well, i think the reason that people are all, "ZOMG ITS BRAWL!!!!1!" is because we DONT KNOW ANYTHING about any of those games. all we know is that they're coming out, eventually... we know about brawl and we know about mk, therefore its naturally hyped... but hey, i agree, all those games sound great, we just know so little that its almost as if those games dont exist...

though to defend brawl... i played it at E for ALL, and my friend imported a japanese wii / brawl, and WOW... it is at least AA, i'd say AAA for sure, but gamespot has a tendency to bring games down O_o

Anybody who thinks that there is only 1 game that will appeal to them, for ANY system, is simply uninformed. That's what it boils down to.

I could care less if he only wants Brawl. Good for him, he can do what he wants. And if he feels that it is a good investment, that's great.

But you and I both know that there are more than one game that will appeal to anyone. That's what is so great about video games.

back to topic, yes i do feel like the first part titles are overshadowing the third party ones, but honestly how many third party titles exist that can compete in overall quality with brawl and mario kart, i know Z dub and NMH bombed, but those are the only two third party games that really were over shadwoed by the wii, that had quality, the other third party games dont really compare....

Capcom said themselves they were happy about the Z&W sales. If they are happy, I bet it turned a profit.

Honestly most of that list doesn't appeal to me. Brawl is the only thing I'm really psyched for and is what I've been waiting for to get a Wii. I'll probably also pick up NMH, MP3 and maybe Super Paper Mario but that's about it for me.

I am most hyped about pro evo 2008 its gonna be wicked, well i hope.

The reason I'M excited for Brawl is because I absolutely know it's going to be amazing. With most of the titles you listed we have few guarantees. I'm sick of getting excited for a game just to be disappointed when it releases, e.g. I had WAY too high expectations for Red Steel... kind of a letdown. Elebits too. Good games, but they didn't live up to the hype I had created in my own mind because of what everyone on the internet said. I prefer to wait and see with games I'm not sure of.

Brawl on the other hand has already received a 10 from Famitsu magazine and comes from a series that was my reason for buying a Gamecube. Honestly, if Melee had been the only game I owned for gamecube, it would have been money well spent.

Fatal Frame 4 (Although I can't take horror games :()

Tales of Symphonia 2 (Only if its like the best RPG this generation)

Deadly Creatures (If it turns out good)

NMH (Eventually...)

Okami (Hell yes)

Star Wars: FU (If it can stand up to the 360 version I might give it a chance)

Pikmin 3 (Hell yes)

Animal Crossing MMO (Never played the old one but I guess I'll give it a chance)

Last year, during the end of 2007, I was getting excited for some awesome third party games coming out, such as Manhunt 2, Battalion Wars II, Medal of Honor: Heroes 2, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, and a few more games. All of these games disappointed me. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Paper Mario, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, Super Paper Mario, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and many other first party Nintendo games all met or exceeded my expectations.

I still think the Wii is the absolute best system this generation, but pretty much every third party game has disappointed me. The only game that went above and beyond my expectations was No More Horoes. I'll get Zack and Wiki once I finish The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.

I just hate how third parties complain about their titles not selling as well, when they are nowhere near as good as Nintendo's titles. Seriously, if I see Super Paper Mario and Medal of Honor: Heroes II on the same shelf, which one do you honestly think I'm going to get.

I hate to admit it, but I know a lot of those titles will flop. I am still content with the amount of Wii games coming out this year. I also have a DS and PS2 that still gets games, so that's good. The only ones I know that won't flop are Fatal Frame IV, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Mario Kart Wii, and Spore. I think a lot of those games will be good, but I wouldn't get my hopes up too high.

Well, if you mention X game, then surely you can mention Band Mashups.

Medal of Honor: Heroes 2: Excellent controls can't make up for a boring single player campaign, medicore online play, terrible character models, and awul AI. The game was lazily put together, and the AI was absolutely horrible. There wasn't enough things to do in the online mode. For a short single player campaign, it was pretty damn boring. It's nothing more than a generic first person shooter. Sure, the controls are great, 32 people online sounds good, and no friend codes is definitely a plus, but its all wrapped into one small, disappointed package. You can read my full review in my profile.

Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles: It lacked depth. I know it is an on rails shooter, but the previews got me excited for something more. I got bored of this game even before the first level ended. The game just isn't fun at all. All you do is shoot really fast, occasionally use your knife, and pick up files. Honestly, it's really hard to view the game play as anything other than "shallow."

Needless to say, Link's Crossbow Training is better than both of those games. It's sad that a tech demo that's just supposed to show off the capabilities of the Wii Zapper is more fun than those three full fledged games I named. If Nintendo made more games, there wouldn't be any reason to get third party titles, except for No More Heroes and maybe Zack and Wiki.
