Zelda isn't really a franchise that would target only the adult audience, this is a reason why Zelda won't go to a more mature status. Making a petition about this shows how little they know about the franchise.

Who cares about blood, gore and swearing, come on it's Zelda... Although I would very much like a darker and DEEP story.
Zelda will never be an adult game. Face it.... Nintendo knows that at the very least... T is the highest rating they would ever give it. It's a household name, and it sells.
Not to mention.... it's a puzzler. When have puzzlers ever been about being adult?
I would like to add - I don't think mature like God of War is necessary, perhaps something more like Shadow of the Colossus which has a very mature atmosphere.Meinhard1
I don't think God of War is very mature even. It still had this LOL GIRLS HAVE BREASTS kind of atmosphere that made me feel like a teenager while playing it.
Guys, quit being so negative towards this request. It could really make the game more deep if done right. Like maybe developing a relationship with Zelda across the course of the game. Or trying to be with her more even though shes nobility and you struggle to protect her from an unaware Ganondorf who would use her power for evil blah blah blah.Kori-san
That'd be dreadful tbh.
Mature-rated isn't the same as mature. I could live with a more mature version of Zelda, but it'd lose some of it's appeal in doing so. I definitely don't think it should be mature-rated, as graphic violence and nudity would do nothing to improve the game.
One thing I'd really want to see is for them to stop using freakish character designs for the NPCs. Ever since Link to the Past or Links Awakening (whichever came out last), where the NPCs looked much more human, I've always wished the characters could resemble that style a bit more.

^ Yeah, 99.9% of people like the new style...but I hate it! So creepy and ugly. :D
I missed out the N64 ones for the most part so the first Zelda I played thoroughly since LTTP was Wind Waker, and the style change properly freaked me out. :-P

I agree and think that would work. I am not sure why people are getting so bent out of shape about it. Give us a game that Wii can feel. Give us enemies that we want to kill, If they use Ganon AGAIN....make him do something evil enough to want to beat him.
it could add a whole new twist to the series![QUOTE="BrunoBRS"]

To a degree I like what God of War does, but eventually they need to tone it down. Not the attractive women part, but the gore and violence. If that is the seller then God of War is for morons, but for me personally that is NOT the seller. For me it the visuals and gameplay. God of War HAS become Sony's Legend of Zelda. Gamers know this. It is because of this that people would like to see a darker tone to LoZ series. No one compares Zelda with Street Figher or Call of Duty or Madden, but LoZ/GoW comparisons are fair. Hey there is a lot they can fit into aT rating.
Of course not
Look at Prince of Persia: Warrior Within. While the gameplay was good, did the style appeal to fans of Sands of Time?

Who said anything about that?
Well that's what most M rated games have in them.
The skies have heard our prayers!
...not.
Cause Nintendo is a !@$%^% company that only cares for money and casuals.
I'm gonna cry now,thanks.
