Brawl
Jesus Christ, I'm so god damn sick of everyone saying how great it is. ITS NOT THAT GREAT FURFDJFSDJFFDSFDGHJ
Wow! A lot of Brawl negativity here.
Back on topic, I say Tales of Symphonia II and The Conduit. I have a bad feeling about these games.
That game is actually getting hype? :|Wow! A lot of Brawl negativity here.

Not at all. Nobody is hyping Tales, and it'll probably be one of the better games released this year.

I agree on both points. I'm pretty surprised how few people are interested in it given it is one of the more promising titles. to those who said that the conduit and symphonia 2 are the most hyped game, well. your just wrong. the fact that both of those games haven't even come out yet and your still calling them over hyped mind boggles me.TP I'd have to say! it's our own fault
never played BRAWL but I'd have to say that any of the Brawl games are boring to me, and way over hyped
Brawl was hyped AAA. It got AAA
Now for Red Steel
air_wolf_cubed
It got AAA because it was hyped AAA. Its the same reason TP got AAA scores, because everyone was fully expecting it to get those scores.
Brawl is really over rated, its one of the most over rated titles this gen -- The additions we're really small -- The online was a disappointment, it basically felt like a new version of Melee -- I played melee for 7 years -- I can't play brawl anymore, its like I'm playing almost the same thing again.
The new Zelda, it doesn't even exist yet and look at the beat up it gets, there is at least one new "what will the new Zelda be like" topic posted every day, I don't care how good it may or may not be if it ever even happens there is no way in the world that it's going to meet expectations, mark my words.jimbokong
I agree 100%. I am so annoyed by people saying I WANT ZELDA I WANT ZELDA! It is getting old and annoying. I think its clear that most people want it.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Definitely overhyped. I love the game but I expected much more. The characters, stages, and subspace were a bit underwhelming.

The same thing could be said about many game sequels.

Right...
I'm not saying Brawl's hype didn't play into the score, but it most certainly was an impressive package and while not quite as good as it's hype is definitely an excellent game overall.

Just about everything you just said was purely opinion. :| It wasn't AAA because of the hype, it was AAA because it was AAA. Hype doesn't decide the quality of the game. (Too Human anyone?) The same applies to TP. Just because you don't like them doesn't mean they are overrated. GS loved it, the users of GS loved it, and the other critics loved it, same thing for TP. They just aren't games that are of that high of quality that deserve 9.0 scores because they are essentially minor upgrades from their predecessors.

I can't believe I have to ask this question again, what exact major upgrade would Brawl need to make it awesome? Also, why do we need to change something that is already very good and doesn't really need change. For example, 2d Mario games have stayed pretty much the same over the years. They never really changed in a significant way and they gameplay is still gold. Finally, if change is need to make a game great, then why do you enjoy MP3 so much? It doesn't really do a lot of different compared to MP and MP2. The only real difference is the motion controls.I can't believe I have to ask this question again, what exact major upgrade would Brawl need to make it awesome? Again -- I dont think its as good as everyone else because I've played Melee, for 7 years -- Brawl is a minor update. It feels like I'm playing the same thing again -- that along with the 'major' addition that was online, failed horribly. Games like Mario Kart Wii prove how good and stable online on Wii can be, where as Brawl is just consistantly laggy and unplayable -- even with friends I get the odd lag here are there.
As for mario, the difference comes in level design -- something you cannot change in brawl -- for everything has to be fundamentally the same.
As for Metroid Prime -- Metroid Prime 3 is different that 1 and 2 -- reason being is that its much more story driven, it has easier controls via the Wiimote and its the closing of the trilogy. Again, level design is big. In Metroid Prime 3, the level design was great. It definitely did not feel like the other games. In Prime 3 you are moving from planet to planet and each one is designed differently, where as in the others your basically on one planet.
I'm not saying brawl is bad because it hasn't change. Hell, I haven't said brawl is bad either. It's just definately not the best Wii game -- its not even in the top 5 for me -- because its just a slight update from the others -- and I've been playing melee for 7 years now -- its hard for me to not be disappointed/have a lack of interest, especially when one of its biggest new additions, didn't manage to deliver.

Not true, I have literally had dozens of matches were lag wasn't a problem at all, at least in friend matches. Odd....I seem to recall Brawl having like 20 or 30 new levels. :| The story wasn't that great nor important, imo. Also, I quite sure Brawl is "much more driven by story" in the adventure mode so that is a major change. :P Also, just because MP3 closed the trilogy doesn't really add much. Lastly of all, I have been playing the SSB series ever since the first game come out and I'm still quite content with Brawl, along with many others. P.S. I withdraw my statement of you saying Brawl was bad. ;)Not true, I have literally had dozens of matches were lag wasn't a problem at all, at least in friend matches. As for the story, Brawl had a story? That was one weak story -- I didn't care for it at all, hell, I only played it to unlock the characters, like most people did.
I too have been playing smash since the N64 version, brawl is just a bore to me. I've moved on.
Over hyped Wii game is Brawl. No question.
I actually got up early and had to line up for this game. It was probably THE biggest game for me to get for Wii. But guess what? I barely played for even 1 year. Opposed to Melee, which i continuosly played for 5-6 years. Brawl became so similar quickly to Melee. Not saying it's a bad game, its a good game. But this game did not match the hype.
