AmI the only one who thinks this is meh? I mean, the entire game seemscorny, the graphics are mediocre at best, and no sword game should be comming out without motion plus support at this point. Sudaseems like he is full of himself as well.
yes you are i think you are alone on this one sorry ;)AmI the only one who thinks this is meh? I mean, the entire game seemscorny, the graphics are mediocre at best, and no sword game should be comming out without motion plus support at this point. Sudaseems like he is full of himself as well.

I think you are, graphics look really good, you must just not like the artystyle. Play the game and you will see how wrong you are, this game cant use WM+ because of how fast paced the game is, it would be like trying to play Ninja Gaiden with motion controls, oh and no one says corny anymore lol.AmI the only one who thinks this is meh? You do not know that. What if there are attacks mapped to WM+. Notice how each time you slice someone you definitely know where you are slicing them. No, you're not alone on this one. The gameplay in the first one was overly repetitive and this one looks like it's exactly the same. Like you said, the graphics engine is exactly the same as well. Hopefully there are some surprises that haven't been shown yet. This series has so much potential that it didn't come close to reaching in its first outing.AmI the only one who thinks this is meh? Did anybody else notice this?
I saw that briefly. While he was obliterating this guy, I saw something dangling from his belt. Lo and behold, it's about 4 or 5 beam katanas strapped to his belt buckle. Could you possibly change beam katanas without having to go back to his apartment? Or is it just for effect?
I hope I'm not the only here who thinks it looked really dumb.
Sorry, I didn't like NMH and the trailer for NMH2 is just not my thing.
My verdict: I'll pass.
;)
Fantastic. I'll pay no attention to the naysayers in this thread. You're all perfectly entitled to your opinion, but I'm beyond excited for this game. I happen to think the graphics are far improved over the original's, the cel shading is more smartly implemented here.
Suda51 = Awesomeness
i loved it, it was awesome til the very end
i lol'd at the ending, when sylvia kissed trevis "light-saber" and it got bigger LOL

I agree with this^^^
The visuals really haven't changed a great deal and it's still very jaggie. I never had a problem with the action and controls, so that's fine if that's the same. Hopefully, Santa Destroy in this sequel will seem more 'alive' and have more things do and places to go inside of.
I think Suda51 is extremely overrated!!!
I think Suda51 is extremely overrated!!!Tri-EnforcerNo-one plays his games. How can he possibly be overrated? Holy mother of pearl. A couple dozen people on a forum express their happiness at seeing a game sequel, and because some people are happy, the guy is overrated?
Hopefully, Santa Destroy in this sequel will seem more 'alive' and have more things do and places to go inside of.Tri-EnforcerYeah, I'm still holding out that the first one was rushed and the city wasn't fully fleshed out before release. I wrote a blog post about it, so I won't repeat myself, but there just seemed to be a lot of wasted potential in the first one. So far, I don't see any evidence of that potential being reached in the sequel, but hopefully without a rushed deadline, it'll be a much more polished game.

That's because those games are unpolished, buggy, and rushed. Also, I'm not saying he's overrated because of this thread. I've seen people clamoring about his work for years now and I'm unimpressed.

Unpolished is right but that has no effect on the merit of the game, hence the saying "a diamond in the rough". When you say it is "overrated", you are saying "people should not rate it this high - they should not enjoy it as much as they do." It's one thing to have a personal opinion that his work is unimpressive. It's quite another to say that other people shouldn't have a different opinion. When you say something is overrated or underrated, you're making a judgment about how other people should view the game.[QUOTE="Tri-Enforcer"][QUOTE="clicketyclick"] No-one plays his games. That's a common criticism, which leaves a bad taste in peoples mouths after playing his games. Yet they come back for more, because they're hoping his next iteration will correct the previous issues and then he lets them down again! Yeah, he make funny over the top games, but no one laughing when the lack of polish ruins the experience.

The polish doesn't ruin the experience for me. For some it does.
Personally the game is funny and over the top - to the point where I don't even care about those small things, I just enjoy every minute of it.

You're misinterpreting why people come back for more. What I can tell you is that I'd prefer to have a highly original, ambitious, unique, bizarre yet unpolished and buggy experience than the most slick, derivative one. I want NMH2 because I've never experienced anything like NMH. Ya, that open world was pretty empty and lacking life, but those were some of the most memorable boss fights I have ever experienced. If you want to understand the attraction, watch the most negative review you will ever find of the game: the Zero Punctuation review.
If this game was a parking ticket, it would have Fine written all over it.OreoMilkshakelol terrible, but those trashing the first game for its lack of polish are just grasping at straws. None of the imperfections of the first game were game breaking. I mean Galaxy had jaggies didn't make it any less great, Fallout 3 had framerate issues and even freezing, still an excellent title, Little Big Planet, control issues still a spectacular title. There are no technically perfect games but as long as none feature game breaking bugs I think you should be able and you do to live with them. Your just going after Suda and NMH because it's not your game for the same problems that other games have,However I would expect that it will be cleaned up this time. And hopefully Santa Destroy is used more, I mean story elements should take place in the city, maybe side missions like races, assassination missions that require you to chase enemies through the streets or something, I would love to have a boss battle in Santa Destroy thats cinematic and transitions from area to area instead of just only having arena battles. I think they could vary things up greatly by making the overworld a much bigger part of the game. And of course add more job missions and assassination missions that require you to traverse the world.
Am I one of the few that doesn't think No More Heroes was rushed?:? It was rough around the edges, but not rushed to me.I'll echo the Yatzee review, and state that many of the flaws of the game almost seemed to be placed there for satirical purposes. This pretty much makes Goichi Suda one of the most pretentious game developers ever...but his games are still some of my favorites ever.
haziqonfire easily made the 2 best possible gifs from the trailersnowman6251I didn't make them, I found them on NeoGaf lol:P
How about the fact that the overworld seemed like a complete afterthought? What about the bad collision detection and other bugs? What about the fact that nearly every level was pointless hack and slash until the boss?Am I one of the few that doesn't think No More Heroes was rushed?:? What about the fact that nearly every level was pointless hack and slash until the boss? how about that the overworld isn't really that important and isn't the focus of the game. I never experienced any bugs. It was a hack and slash but I know I sure had fun while hacking and slashing and of course the bosses were epic.Am I one of the few that doesn't think No More Heroes was rushed?:? Woah!!!
That looked freaking GREAT!
Dual-wield katana's gave me goosebumps:D

I know!!! This looks awesome.
how about that the overworld isn't really that important and isn't the focus of the game.snowman6251Why even have an overworld to begin with then, if it's going to be done so poorly? Well... other than to artificially lengthen a short game by making the player do tons of useless A to B travel. Besides that.
