I caught that too, as well as a few other things. I hope this is enough to get GS to stop complaining about dated graphics.
Pre-order goodies! (For Japan)
A Ho-oh figure for people that pre-order Heart Gold, and a Lugia figure for Soul Silver.
Plus an Arceus figure if you pre-order both (What the ass?).
From Pokebeach!:
The official Japanese Pokemon website has revealed better-quality images of HeartGold and SoulSilver's Johto map and box art in addition to a new image of Ecruteak City. No new information was revealed on the website, though we can now see that there is a new, fairly large chunk of land to the west of Cianwood City (Johto's Battle Frontier?), a new building west of Goldenrod City next to the Radio Tower, and a small new area west of National Park. All of the new locations are outlined in the second map image below. Thanks go to Jason for assisting me with this news story. Click the thumbnails below for much larger images.
Yaminokame, our new Japanese translator, has also provided us with some new information after thoroughly looking over the older CoroCoro scans and the new website above.
For one, there are currently four known PokeWalker courses, each of which will have different Pokemon that you can encounter and then transfer to HeartGold and SoulSilver. They are called "Refreshing Field," "Noisy Forest," "Rugged Path," and "Edge of the Night Sky," the latter being the one that the McDonalds Jirachi unlocks once traded over to the two games (note: The Jirachi will also be downloadable via Wi-Fi to people who own the Japanese games). The default courses are the first two, and to unlock the Rugged Path field you need to take an unconfirmed 1,000 steps. Presumably, the more steps you take with the PokeWalker, the more fields you will unlock, and the more wild Pokemon you can encounter. To encounter a wild Pokemon, you use the PokeWalker's built-in PokeRadar, which will detect wild Pokemon and then allow your Pokemon to battle it. You can also use the PokeWalker's Item Finder to find hidden items, just like in the main games. To use both items requires a certain amount of watts, or steps taken.
As a side note, both Lugia and Ho-Oh are confirmed to be capturable in both games, just like in the original Gold and Silver.
Mine don`t died yet. Its one of those transparent purple cartridges. I dunno if its a special edition or all of the crystal cartridges are made this way. =P What i hope most is that they don`t repeat the platinum trend, i wonder why holes (caverns) are so much popular in platinum that you find a ridiculous number of people wandering in old mines.... seriously....[QUOTE="meiaman"][QUOTE="Yoweeh"]
I heard of that happening a lot... These days...
I'm hoping my Crystal lives for ever. D;

There are a few pools of water in the distortion world and when i battled cyrus he had a few full restores, so y wouldn't he hav revives...
In meh opinion, the battle system is good, a few graphic updates and re-balancing would be cool... but its good the way it is.
What is really bad lately is the berry planting and fishing system... they really have to scrap those stuff and think in a better way to develop those.
Yeah, I'm sort of disappointed now at how it looks...In meh opinion, the battle system is good, a few graphic updates and re-balancing would be cool... but its good the way it is.

i cant get the pictures for this...but after u beat the elite 4 groudin will appear in silver, kyogre will appear in gold. after you catch or defeat the one from ur game u will then be able to battle/catch Rayquaza...
So maybe we will be able to go the hoenn region.
Hoenn sucked. If they do that I'll... Not buy it? Seriously, Hoenn was the worst and killed Pokemon for me. D; it was the worst i only hated it because most of hoen was water compered to the other games but i would still buy it even more if they have hoen more easier to get all the pokemonactually, I thnk Game Freak is using these remakes to test out new ideas for the main series that they want to try out, but feel that will be too bold to be introduced outright into a 'new' game... so it's not a surprise that there are so many changes, really, and i for one, appreciate that, as long as these changes maintain the spirit and feel of the games.I guess that's true, but...
It really wouldn't be a G/S remake anymore if they did that. But at this rate, HG and SS are pretty much brand new games now.

Has a Pokemon game ever not gone to North America? Think people. Think.
And, believe it or not., there should be one new Pokemon in the remakes. Brand new. Not Celebi.
At first,i didn't notice it but when i took a closer look,i saw him standing there just like in God/silver/crystal.Any one else notice the top left conner in the screen shots your rival is looking in the window just like the original?

Yoweeh , what is the new pokemon's name and number , any video , picture , anything . please i wanna know as everybody else.shadowy_shadow
Nobody knows yet. Nintendo is super hush-hush about that so far. I'm guessing it'll be 494.
They did say something about it somewhere I'll just have to find a scan of it...
S o either the story is about it , or about ,Arceus , thats my guess.shadowy_shadow
...What? No, all of the stuff about Arceus is an event which (so far) is activated in your game if you preordered tickets to the 12th Pokemon movie (only in Japan so far). Have you even played a Pokemon game before? It's a remake, which means it's probably going to have a very similar storyline as the original G/S/C.
They can't add a new Pokemon since it would need to be tradeable to D/P/Pt, really, and there are no pokemon past arceus in the code.Hegna1
That's true, but I remember clearly that they were adding a brand-new legendary to the remakes. :/
The translation could have been wrong though, since this was before Kyogre, Groudon, and Rayquaza being announced, so it could have really meant 'brand-new' as 'not in the old G/S/C'
IDK.
^ Further proving my newest theory.
Damn. New page. D;
You can always quote the post, like I'm doing with your post right now. :)[QUOTE="shadowy_shadow"]

Look, we change years in December. That's winter. ONE SEASON AWAY FROM SEPTEMBER. Which is fall.
Which is before winter. One season behind it. ...yup.
In conclusion, we might get it sooner then everybody thinks.
Probably not, though.

Japan gets it September 12 http://www.gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=87270
Pokemon usually come out in the spring of the year after the Japanese release, anyways.
Luckily, I'll have Scribblenauts and Mario and Luigi to get me through.
why does play-asia description say ...
Pokemon Heart Gold is a remake of Pokemon Gold, a game which first came out in 2,000. It includes revamped graphics, various new Pokemon, and new forms of previously existing Pokemon. The game also offers a special challenge after the main story is completed, in which the main charactertravels to the Hoenn region to catch one of two titans that fought 3 years earlier. New characters include Lunah, the Dark type gym leader of Hoenn, and Sakura, the gardening enthusiast. Supports wi-fi connection and comes with a pedometer
