Wait, guys, guys... Look at the calendar.

Mario was born in 1981.... 29 years ago.

Sonic was born in 1991.... 19 years ago.

Mario Galaxy is the 7th regular console Mario platformer.

29+19+7=55

It's 55 days till April Fool's Day.

The Werehog Sonic would work very nicely in a mario game seeing as how they are both fairly slow platformers. I liked the Werehog stages and I love mario stages so that would be interesting to see them both in a platform game together.

The only thing is, it would have to be a brand new series, not just headlined by Mario or Sonic, where the likes of Dr. Robotnik and Bowser teamed up and the story revolves around them thus giving the chance to see Mario and Bowser using the Chaos Emeralds which would be freaking awesome!!!

Well... While it does seem interesting I would LOVE to see Mario & Sonic in a completely stand alone game on their own. Mixing Mario and Sonic's gameplay, add a little extra story from the Sonic side, a little contradictions between the different universes, a feud between Mario and Sonic and end it all in an epic Boss battle where Mario and Sonic cooperates.

I'd much rather have Tails, but I could understand why they would pick Soinc, trying to bring Sonic fans into Mario games. Since it seems like a good number of Sonic fans have a Wii.

Would not bug me if they put him in there, but I'll rather play Mario, I preher him over Sonic. That or I would not mind having Luigi again.

I really don't see it happening though. Seems out of place. Be hard to picture Sonic riding a Yoshi and eating Mashrooms. Bee Sonic? That be weird. XD

I don't like the idea of throwing Sonic in SMG2. That's like throwing a big old middle finger to long time mario fans. Next thing you know Snake will be a playable char in it.EndlessPunisher

Bonus content is BONUS content. It won't affect Mario's part of the game. Think of Sonic as an option.

Lol! XD That is something I've been dreaming for a long time.

I'd love to see Nintendo give an attempt at making a Sonic style game...or even better a Tails one, like Tails Adventure 2! :D (IS a major Tails fan).

But ether way it would be interesting, could not really hurt ether.

I honestly don't see this happening. If they do make a game with both of them in it, I think they'd have much more fanfare surrounding it. If it is true, then I'd say it depends on how it's done. If it is Sonic placed within Mario levels without thought placed into it, it will just be a bad idea, and will hurt the game as a whole. If it's Super Mario Galaxy/Super Sonic Galaxy, with the two being built around the characters, then I can see this as a great thing. I would like seeing how they incorperate Sonic's gameplay s-tyle within Galaxy's s-tyle.

Not gonna happen... but if anyone could make it work, it's Nintendo

I have nothing against Sonic (loved Sonic 1,2, and 3), but I wouldn't want him in a Mario game, even if it is just bonus.

I do not see the big deal. If there is somehting like a Green Hill Zone Galaxy and you have to help sonic or play Sonic a few times during that Galaxy, I have no probelm with it. Hell, even a Robotnik battle to end the galaxy would be welcomed IMO. I know there are some purists out there, but if Sonic is only in 5% of the game, then whast the big deal? If any of this is true.

This rumor becoming true would make this game a first day buy for me.

As it is, the only thing I'm looking forward to with Mario Galaxy 2 is for the first game to possibly finally have a drop in price.

I would hate the idea its a traditional 3D Mario platformer its a sequel to Super Mario Galaxy and we already have Yoshi in the game anyway. How would using Sonic work in the game anyway you'd be going to fast and the planets aren't gonna that big with Sonic speeding around them and taking his speed away won't make you feel you were playing as Sonic. Nintendo please don't let this be true.

This ^. Besides I would love to see Nintendo/Sega recreate Green Hills Zone and make an awesome instrumental music score to it. I mean maybe its just for one galaxy and maybe you would play mario 50% of it and sonic for a few stars. I think it would be very innovative and very awesome for those of who grew up and always wondered..what if sonic and mario met in a game. SSBB does not, count for it is not a traditional Mario or Sonic game. Each Galaxy is radically different why not throw one of the most iconic platform levels of all time into what could possibly be the best platformer of all time.

I would get a crossover/platformer gamebetween Mario and Sonic. I don't know if SMG2 should have Sonic. I think a 2D platformer Mario/Sonic game would be a killer.

Nintendo is not Sega. Their 1st party developers work under the most obsessive compulsive/stubborn developer in the industry.(especially with his babies Mario/Zelda) Don't think for a second that Nintendo would include that level if it was not working to their liking.

I don't care how much shovelware Ninty puts out every year, Their main Ip's are usually nothing less then stellar. They won't let this be bad, and if it is, it will be scrapped.

2. If adding Sonic will make any game automatically better (by some of your logic) why not put him in every game? Sonic in Halo? Sonic in Zelda? Sonic in Resident Evil? Clearly this will only make these games better, as after all, it's only "bonus content". /sarcasm
