I played the PS3 Sonic 4 Ep 1 demo and while it is only one stage in world 1, it was really fun and harkened back to Sonic's glory days. The homing technique is implemented very well and to me, works well in 2D. You can be running and flying in the air, then you see the homing icon on the screen, you have to react really quickely or you get hit.

It'sa bummer that this is an episodic game and ep 1 is $15.00. Hopefully down the road it comes out on disc so further down the road, the price will drop so I can get the whole thing for $15.

I'm a Sega guy and I hated Sonic 4 and I think it deserves every fail it's getting

What I don't understand is if you're taking away Sonic's speed for platforming then why not just use Alex Kidd?

I understand where people are coming from with the speed arguement. However, if you really step back, Sonics 1-3 had the speed in there but if you really wanted to be successful, you didn't speed nearly as much as you think you did. It was kind of smoke and mirrors if you ask me. 1-3 had a good variety of both.

And Jayson, you of all people should understand why they didn't just use "Alex Kidd". You bring up "the business aspect" all the time in our discussions. Who do you think would sell more?

By the way, Tales of Phantasia had me stumped forever and all I had to do to trigger the next cut-scene to move forward was something I had no idea and the game gives you no clue that you need to do.

I've been walking around exploring for hours and hours trying to figure this one thing out and the solution just mind-effed me. Hate looking things up but when you are just totally lost, sometimes you have no choice. After seeing this solution, I don't feel bad because I would have had to luckily stumble on it.
