First look at MLB 11: The Show....
http://espn.go.com/espn/thelife/videogames/blog/_/name/thegamer/id/5922458/show-first-look?readmore=fullstory
Sounds like some major changes to batting and pitching systems including full analog control, batting timing, etc.
I told myself I would only get this game every other year but these updates may really enhance the experience more than just a roster update and slider tweaks.
I'm sure Jason is the only one here who will care but I think this is exciting news.
Holy bananas!
I honestly was wondering if I was going to get next season's game but this pushed me over the edge
I know, seriously! I wonder if the aiming to hit the ball mechanic is going to be similar to how Power Pros does it. If it does then we could be in for a bigger gem of a game than MLB10.HOLY CRAP! This day just keeps getting better:
http://www.talesunion.com/news/first-tales-of-xillia-trailer-released--1461.html
Info on the next installment of the Tales of series... Tales of Xillia is a PS3 exclusive.
Then, all my joy goes to sadness because I would bet the farm that this will never see the light of day in North America... Curses to you Namco.
I got Donkey Kong Country Returns from my brother and his friend. I'm already getting a huge amount of games for my birthday, I'm all set till summer/Zelda. I got/will get:
Wow... I feel guilty.
I started Ages a few weeks ago because I wanted to work on playing through a bunch of Zelda games before SS comes out..... I played once and wasn't motivated to play again. It really sucks that you can't play GB/GBC games on the DS even though it has an appropriately sized slot. I had to hook up my GC with a Game Boy Player in order to play, and I think that setup just couldn't set the right mood for that type of game.Beat Seasons earlier and I'm halfway through ages *whistles happily

I remember loving Ages and Seasons, but I probably won't get around to playing them ever again. *crosses fingers for 3DS VC release*
*drools* guess i know what i'll be doing for the next 2 weeks...Christmas TF2 Update.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS.

I played my first MMO yesterday night with the DC Universe beta on PS3. I didn't even get into the MM part because the first part of the game is more or less a tutorial section which for a newb like me was necessary. I got past that part into the community part and saw a bunch of other players in there but couldn't interact with anyone yet... not sure why.
Seemed fun, but so far I doubt it'll be worth 15 bucks a month. I'll give it another play tonight to try and advance further and see if there is any interaction. Never playing na MMO before I don't know the lingo or technical terms so it's fun to learn on the fly.
For now, I have some free time and I'm going to play KOTOR again.
Birthday is complete. I kind of feel bad, I usually don't get a lot of birthday gifts, I feel guilty.

There are thousands of teens that get cars and trips to exotic places. How could you feel bad?
Because they are even more spoiled than he is, which he's really not. Remember that reality show about sweet 16's where prissy rich girls would whine about only getting a Mercedes for their birthday and it wasn't even red? That kind of thing was disgusting. There are thousands of teens that get cars and trips to exotic places. How could you feel bad?

On a random whim I'm replaying Final Fantasy VII.
Tifa: "You have to promise that if you make it big, and I get in trouble, you'll save me."
Cloud: "What?"
Tifa: "When I get in trouble, my hero will come to save me. I want to experience that at least once."
Cloud: "What?"
OH MY GOD CLOUD YOU DENSE ****
I had completely forgotten after so long how impenetrably dumb Cloud is in this game. I'm enjoying it, but god damn.

I've been replaying this too. In fact, loading up a game right now. The dialogue can be cheesy but it really is one of the best video game stories I've experienced... and I didn't play it for the first time until like 2006.[QUOTE="GabuEx"]I've been replaying this too. I bought FFVII the second day I had my PS3, which was back in the first week of June and I still haven't played through it yet, :(
argh, i hate steam!starwarsjunky
Yeah I'm watching it fail time and time again because it's got so many sales
If they can stop the site from failing to load it's possible that they could sell a lot of this stuff lol
I have some presents and gifts for myself picked out from the peeks I've had between the page failing

i've already bought blood bowl: night elf edition and bad company2 today :(While we're talking about games we've been replaying, I've been replaying Super Mario Sunshine. I've got to say, for a game that I originally hated, I've really grown to appreciate Sunshine for what it was. If there's one thing that I think hurt the game more than anything, it's the spray function of FLUDD.For collecting purposes, it does its job, even though some of the blue coins you use it for are pretty annoying, but overall, it does bring a kind of tedious aspect to the game, especially in missions where you specifically have to clean different stuff (mud, electric goop, lava) off of things. But besides that, I think it did a great job of building off of what they learned in Super Mario 64. Its levels do a much better job of creating big levels which are fun to explore, while not sacrificing the platforming. And as for the controls and camera, which is my biggest complaint about SM64, there are definitely moments where they were frustrating (in the Pinna Park mission where you have to go to the top of the Ferris wheel by going to the back of it could have definitely been better), I think it did a much better job of it than SM64. Granted, after playing the Galaxy games, these things do seem pretty archaic by comparison, but the gap between 64 and Sunshine is bigger than the gap between Sunshine and Galaxy IMO.
Anyway, Sunshine is the only 3D Mario that I haven't beaten 100%, so I'm hoping to do that in this playthrough, but with Christmas coming up, I may have to put it on hold for a while, but I've been making pretty good progress in the game so far, with a little over 60 Shines (forget exactly how many).
Hmm fun fact: Donkey Kong Country Returns is sold out everywhere in town.
Now, this wouldn't be surprising considering it's just a few days before christmas, but every other big holiday release (Wii or otherwise) is available in ample supply.
I'm glad to see it doing well, though I'd like to pick it up sometime in the near future. I also couldn't track down Rune Factory 3, Lufia or 999; but I feel like those simply weren't in stock to begin with rather than being sold out.
Anybody have #4 on the ornament scavenger hunt? That's the only one I'm missing. I checked 8 other blogs from other people, and nobody has #4. Where is that person? I checked Justin Porter's account, but found nothing.wiifan001
Ornament scavenger hunt? :?

They're the worst idea ever in a Mario game. They're not hard to get, they're not FUN to get, but it's extremely tedious to find them all, even with a guide (which you'll need).
I hate them, and they can all burn in hell. Or... melt in hell? .... They can all be placed in a line along some train tracks in hell and flattened by whatever ghost train runs there. I hope that crushes the blue out of them.
Speaking of which, I had so much fun naming my pokemon. Whenever they said "Go ______" it was always inappropriate :P.I love the ability to name characters in RPGs so much.
Tifa: "**** you! Wait!"
Cloud: "you *****, I don't care about the planet. I just want my money from my *****."

I never named characters outside of their actual name or nicknamed pokemon. Don't know why but I am still picky about it. I still name Link Link :P
Am I the only one who doesn't abuse the naming feature? If the character already has a name I always just leave it alone and if I'm making a custom character like Dragon Age I come up with an appropriate sounding name.snowman6251
Well I have one rule, in games where I can make the lead character it's own name it's always JASON
It has to be in all caps so it always sounds like they're yelling my name
For the rest of my team like Dragon Quest I make sure they're women, I give them skimpy outfits if possible, and I give them hilarious names.

the main character i rename to Shref if its a guy. the rest i leave alone typicallyEpic masterpiece had an epic year. Not as many posts as last year but who cares; cant waitto see the new thread.
Also, very excited for the PS Store to update; I can finally try out Mass Effect 2! This demo is actually serving its purpose; it will actually help me determine if I'm going to buy the game.
I also never rename characters in games and I also name link, Link.

 So far, only a few of the ones that I've gotten seem really bad, though the majority of the ones I've gotten were from Delfino Plaza and Bianco Hills. But yeah, the blue coins are the part of the game I'm dreading the most, especially since some of them are only in certain episodes. Though in the end, I think it will be worth it, if only if I can say that I beat every 3D Mario 100% (until they release a new Mario game on a next-gen console).PS3 owners are lucky - Even though they won't get Mass Effect 1, they'll get Mass Effect 2 on the brand new engine as well as a 15 minute interactive comic that lets you make choices from the first game. Then at the end of the year, everyone gets the third installment. You guys get two Mass Effect games in one year.HaziqonfireFor sure. EA/BioWare are doing a nice job in enticing people to check this game out. I have some fun stuff to look forward too. I think I will for sure get dragon age origins with any christmas money I get, hopefully I enjoy the mass effect 2 demo enough to want to buy it or ask for it for my January 26 bday, and I also may get MLB11 even though originally I said I would wait to get MLB12. Those possible 3 games will keep me busy for a long time. Plus, if Last Story comes out for Wii or any new Tales game comes out, I'll be in over my head! And i haven't even mentioned 3DS possibilities if I get that eventually! I do love this gen!
