Why release a peripheral and not support it?
Zelda is using M+
Wow! One whole game?! Now thats what I call supporting the Wii's greatest peripheral.
Nintendo has been making a profit since Wii came out and game like Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Zelda, Mario Galaxy 1, and Mario Bros have sold an insane amount. Each one of these games has sold over 5 million. A few have reach over 20 million. I don't think these games still need to cost $50 seeing as they have been out for years.
But there still selling, its called making money
You're really missing the point of this thread aren't you? He dislikes that Nintendo never lowers their prices. Does that bother you?

They do on games that slow in sales. Punchout isn't still full price, nor is mario party 8. People need to learn how the economy works, if something is still in demand at a certain price, it IS going to be sold at that price until demand wanes.
Alot of people don't seem to understand the point of this thread. gamenerd15 dislikes how Nintendo games rarely drop in price, this isn't even open for debate.

It is considering that Nintendo is able to always rotate their own titles in place of the ones that aren't selling, in which they just remove from the shelves completely. Think from the business perspective. It's for profit purposes

I meant new IPs that are not geared toward a mass audience, akin to Zelda, Metroid, and Kid Icarus.
No disrespect to the Wii _ line.
Friend codes NEED to go. Now, ahora!.
The Online is mediocre, but at least its free.
Also, motion controllers are okay, but the current nunchuck design is HORRID. Uncomfortable and like with most games, it requred you to be standing.
You need batteries for the controllers.......WTH Nintendo. They should have made them USB rechargable like the PS3's :?
Also, the Wii is nothing compared to the gaming gian Gamecubde was. At least in the Gamecube era we had amazing, innovative and fun-for-everyone-any-age games like Lugi's Mansion and Super Mario Sunshine, Starfox Adventre, 2 Zelda games, unbeliavablly-drop dead amazing Resident Evil games, Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes, etc.
Now everything is ala motion controllers and casual stuff.
The 3DS is the pinacle of what the Wii should have had since day one. Games wise.
Resident Evil, Kid Icarus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Street Figher.....THAT is the Nintendo I wanted to see again this generation.
The Wii is ok. It has definetly gotten amazing games like Brawl, and Mario Galaxy 2, Donkey Kong, etc. But definetly not Gamecube ok. And thats not counting the VAS AMMOUNTS of masses and masses of multiplatform games the Wii has losted and failed to bring to their console.
Furthermore, they need to implement Blu-ray for the next gen. They need to bring it back as well next gen. they have been nothing but dispointment after the disapointment.
I hope we don't get a Wii 2 at all. I love the idea of Motion sensing, but if they really want to bring a Wii to every house possible, they need to carter to all audiences, not just one.

Luigi's Mansion was not that good. It is not that horrid, but I wouldn't say it was amazing. The GC is an underrated system, but the Wii has just as many great games. GC did not have Punchout, an Excite racing game, a proper Donkey Kong or proper Kirby game, You can get all the Metroid Prime games on the Wii and another Metroid game as well. The GC lost out on multiplats over time because it did not sell well. The Wii has games like Sonic Colors, Monster Hunter 3, Sin and Punishment 2, Red Steel 2, Muramasa, the Demon blade, and Goldeneye. The GC didn't really have a shooter that defined besides the multiplat timesplitters. The Wii still lacks Star Fox and F-zero. If Nintendo makes new iterations of either or both of those franchises on Wii, then it will have surpassed the GC.

Really, so you are telling Me that Twilight Princess is still selling as much as it was when it first came out? I am pretty sure that Mario Kart isn't still topping th charts like it was. Smash bros too huh? All these games are selling just as much now as when they came out? These games must have waned in demand some if Mario Kart has sold 30 million, this means almost 40% of all wii owners have the game. If Mario Kart was still in huge demand like it was when it first came out, it would have such significantly more by now. Zelda, Smash Bros, Maio Kart, and Galaxy 1 have dropped demand. I shouldn't have to pay $50 or even $40 for any of those titles.

Umm, mario kart is still selling, Twilight Princess is the ONLY Zelda on the system, do you really expect it to go down in price? People like to ignore the lesser selling Nintendo titles that are already discounted (Metroid Prime: Corruption was 19.99 at gamestop yesterday.) and instead focus on the titles that are still selling and complain about the prices.

But Mario Kart and Zelda still selling as it was when it first came out? Every game is still selling, but I doubt that Mario and Zelda are still selling like they were when they first came out. I am not asking the games to be $10 or something. Maybe $30. If you think Metroid Prime Corruption is a deal at $20, then I don't know what to say. How is Metroid a lesser known title?
Sure. Also, they rarely come out with decent new series'. The only recent new series' they've made recently I can think of are fitness games and whatnot. There's also things like Captain Rainbow and Disaster: Day of Crisis, but whenever there's actually a decent series made, I guess they don't think anyone would want to see it other then their own nation. What I dislike:
.Their online infrastructure. Friend codes suck.
. Not localising certain games that japan gets (Mother 3 etc.). Who really knows if LS or XB will be coming to us.
. Not making new games in certain franchises for years and years. You know, StarFox, F-Zero, etc.

Of course they arent selling as well when they first came out, but people ARE buying them in large enough quantities that it does not warrant a price drop, what about that don't people understand? Supply/Demand. Yes, metroid is a deal at 20, I dont see how you figure it isn't for one of the best titles on the platform. Go back and read, I never once said Metroid is a lesser known title.

How would you know that Mario Kart ect. are still selling in large enough quanitities to not drop the price? Just because Nintendo hasn't dropped the price doesn't really mean anything. They could be keeping at $50 just because it is their own game. It is funny how you make assumptions but you don't bring numbers to back anything up. If 40% of Wii gamers own a certain, there is no way it still selling enough to warrant the $50 2 to 4 years afterwards. $20 is bad price for a three year old game which has been eclipsed by the trilogy collection. Knowing that just the 3rd sells for a quarter or more than what the trilogy collection costs is ridiculous. Especially since the 3rd game by itself has been discontinued.
I know I already said this, but I feel like saying it again. Nintendo never drops the prices for their first party games when they came out 6 years ago. I walked into Vintage play the other day and looked at their GC games, only to see a few of those games still costing over $25 like Mario Sunshine, which has been out far longer than some of the newer games on the shelves that cost less. I know its made by a third party company, but I finally ran into Ikaruga on the shelves, a game that came out a while ago too. Also a game I've been wanting to get And the price is still OVER $30 bucks! Even Madworld. a newer Wii game, has dropped to $19.99....
I hate the fact it's region locked, i moved countries and had to buy a new wii. I would like there to be even just a small price drop on some of the older mario games.
pretty much covers it, plus their pig headed stubborness in refusing to go with new ideas because they deem it unlikely to take off like console internet play and high definition which has left the wii behind in certain areasWhat I dislike:

I disagree with your statements, but hey, that's your opinion. I'll respect it.
I want whoever came up with the ideas of freind codes to forcefully be dragtged out of Nintendos hedquarters, kicked repeadedlty till he begs for mercy, be fired, and never get another job at a gamecompany ever again (I held myself back there :D)
The online is the only thingthat i hate.
The fact that they continue to release new system with dated hardware. The DS was dated when release, the Wii was dated when released, and now the 3DS will also be using dated hardware. They try to cover up the fact that they use such old hardware by putting other things in it. It was the touch screen for the DS, the motion controller for the Wii, and now 3D for the 3DS, all to cover up that they are essentially selling you dated hardware for a premium price. $250 for the 3DS? No thank you. Now I love my Wii and my DS, but it is something I know is happening. SF_KiLLaMaN
how is it dated? ... the wii for example was never meant to be a graphical powe house but uses (what was at the time) state of the art motion control, the DS was also never meant to be a power house instead nintendo opted for touch screen tech which was not as common as it is now and certainly new for consoles. As for the 3DS just because it uses the same main control method as the current DS youre just writing it off as "outdated". The 3D technology it uses (whether gimmick or not) is pretty advanced and nintendo seem to have decided that this time a graphical power house would be better ...
There is more to a game console these days than graphics, its a shame some people are still stuck in the last generation way of thinking. If thats not convincing enough then think of it like this, if nintendos tech is so out of date why are the other two big companies tripping over themselves to rip it off?
i dislike the fact that they didn't release an hd console when the should have. They refused to be on par with their direct competitors system specs wise and left gamers in the dust with their casual approach. Of-course they have made up for it now with nice 1st party games but they are late..What I dislike:

I dislike how NoA won't localize Fatal Frame 4, Trace Memory, Disaster Day of Crisis, Xenoblade, or Last Story.meetroid8
Disaster Day of Crisis may have copyright issues - plotline & scenes is very similar/same as the "The Rock" movie Sean Connery & Nicholas Cage...mostlikely will get sued if release in US
things i hate about nintendo:
-keep some franchises away of their actual consoles (earthbound and f-zero)
-is very exclusive on the games it made and on the games that are played on their consoles
-a REALLY BAD internet connection (mario kart was amazing on wi-fi why they don´t keep that connection)
-it´s actually focusing on the casual people and forgeting their hardcore public

I agree, but my main problem is prices.
The Wii came out 4 years ago, and since then it only dropped $50 in price. Compare any successful console, and compare the competition and you can see the Wii should be cheaper by now.
The FOUR YEAR OLD Wii launch games like Zelda are still $50....the prices are what I don't like the most.
This pricing even falls to DS games...games like NEW SUPER MARIO for DS are older than the Wii, almost 5 years old, and still full price.
Lastly, Where the heck are $20 Ninitendo Greatest Hits?
Online is secondary, but you mentioned that already. I would like to see that improved greatly.
they should really upgrade their technology. it will help with more 3rd party support, possibly get more good games. it will help with the online features as well, whcih is good for a lot of people. it also gives it a good competive edge on the market along with MS and Sony.
EDIT: fogot to mention advantages like putting in an HDD and using buleray discs or something, which will allow for bigger better games.
no i dont want nintendo to be exactly like the xbox or PS, they should stay innovative and "different:, but i think using new tech would make their systems better and fix all the problems we keep whining about, kinda like the ones you mentioned tc :)
1. Their online.
2. Not localizing games.
3. Launch "window" crap.
4. Behind in graphics. I love the Wii, but I'd kill for a Luigi's Mansion sequel that looked like this.

5. They sold Rare. You may say that Rare sucked after Conker, but I loved Star Fox Adventures.
