Lately I haven't been to impressed with Nintendos attempts to attract the hard core gamer. And it may just be me but the last few Nintendo games that have been released seemed a bit more child orientated and simplified (more aimed towards the casual gamer). And with last years "big announcement" at E3 being Wii fit im really not sure if Nintendo is the right company for me anymore.

So unless they really blow MS out of the water this year I may be saying goodbye to the big N

So is it just me or do others feel the same way?

I also feel Nintendo is going down hill with some of its gamers. One of those gamers is me!

Just because E3 is only a press event now dose not mean they won't be showcasing and announcing games.

I don't expect much from Nintendo anymore. They pretty much stopped apealing to me. Their 3rd party line up is looking good, so I guess I'll have a few more Wii games to look forward to. As for Nintendo, I don't really care what they announce. Mainly because, as you mentioned, a lot of their games got a little over simplified so I'd expect their latest installations of their franchises to suffer from the same problem. That or they'll just end up having a dumb gimmick, like the Wii wheel.

Yep... i feel the same way. With the lack of 3rd Party support compared to the PS3 and Sony I feel Nintendo is really falling. They are not attracting the hardcore the Nintendo fans. If Nintendo doesn't announce something that will appeal to the hardcore gamers...

sigh....

pro_gamer12345

It wouldn't be surprising at all if there was nothing that appealed to the hardcore gamers. The Wii was intended for casual gamers, and they've been releasing a lot of games for the casual fans, and they're going to continue that route.

Well im hoping that if the do announce a new Zelda it will be somewhat of a different formula than the last 4 3D Zelda games...hell even all the boss's in those games are similar.

However I am very excited to get a better look at Madworld

Yes that is why Nintendo is doing bad to the hardcore gamers out there that supported the WII. They need to release games for the casual and the hardcore. If they are just releasing games for the casuals what do they expect the hardcore gamers to do?

Well the sad fact is, the majority of money in the gaming market is made from the casuals. And what company doesn't like money?

Uh huh

And what's the worst case scenario? You buy another system?

How is that a problem?

Do you also make threads that say "This week's sandwiches have a lot riding on them, if I don't like them I may buy another kind of bread"

People buy things all the time, sometimes even from home

Why is that a big deal?

Maybe not every one is willing to pay $400 to play video games.

If Nintendo dose not impress me this E3 than that's probably what going to happen. I thought that would make enough sense without having to explain

$400 is alot of money correct?

This E3 will determine if I pay $400 dollars or not...ok.

Therefor "There is ALOT riding on this years E3".

Not really. You could just sell your Wii and games on eBay, seeing as you don't care much for the system, and use that money to buy another console.

It would be more accurate to say "Nintendo has a lot riding on E3 this year", as it's more about them losing customers than you spending more money.

You're saying "oh casual is bad" and all that, well only casuals think that spending 400 dollars on gaming is a lot of money.

400 dollars isn't a lot of money to a gamer. Gaming is expensive, with multiple games coming out weekly that go between 19-59 dollars a pop. A gamer knows that they're going to spend a lot of money.

So why are you giving mixed messages? You say that casual users are bad yet you're using their complaint.

^ that would be the case but I would never sell a console in the middle of its gen. You never know when a developer can surprise you a come out with an amazing game. RE4 is a good example.

Problem is, Nintendo consoles are more known for one thing: 1st-party software. Where else can you get Mario, Link, Metroid, Donkey Kong, Kirby, Star Fox, Pikmin, Animal Crossing, and so on?

But if you're having a problem with the way that 1st-party games are being made, why are you sticking to it? Right now, they're going in a different direction, and if it's not to your fitting, you should probably look somewhere else (of course, wait until after E3).

[QUOTE="nintendogamer6"]^ that would be the case but I would never sell a console in the middle of its gen. You never know when a developer can surprise you a come out with an amazing game. RE4 is a good example.nintendogamer6

A little of subject but have u heard of madworld yet?

Oh yea! Im really hoping they will show it of at E3

Sorry about that other quote, oh and when I went to track u, it said you didn't have a profile.

Getting to the point where Samus and Link no longer cut it. Need a little more than some Mario to keep up when you've got games like Bioschock, Mass Effect and GTA IV and countless others on the 360. So yes I'm with you. I do have a Wii but this E3 could be make or break. If I don't see something promising it might become trade bait for a PS3.

Nintendo-wise, there isn't a lot riding on it for me. I know Nintendo is going to have a great show and have sweet new games on display. For me, though, E3 may help me decide whether to spend my hard-earned dollars on a PS3 or 360. I'm having trouble deciding so I'm waiting for the show to see if that helps.

Well that game is mult-plat so unless the Wii-mote really changes the game play for the better, it won't really be much of a deciding factor
