[QUOTE="WreckEm711"]

[QUOTE="Nintendo_Ownes7"]Sony said they suspended the development of the PS4 and Microsoft resently stated that they are on track for a 2015 release of their next console.

Nintendo_Ownes7

The first part yes, the second part no unless you have a link.

The 2nd Part I just looked and it isn't true. Other sites stated that it was 2015 but they later updated and said it was Bogus.

haha ok cool, cause i was like "Dang, if true, the successor of Nintendo's unannounced console should be out about the same time :P"

Could the 3DS be used as a controller? Ono speculates that Street Fighter IV would have some connectivity with a new Home console and being portable at the same time.

http://gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=154340

If so, could we see a huge connectivity to see eShop from the 3DS being at the same time on Project Cafe? Maybe that's why the eShop is not avaible right now on 3DS.

It would be awesome to see Nintendo compete with a new console that's technically more advanced than the rest, that hasn't happened since the Super Famicom (albeit briefly). The fact is the Wii has served it's purpose - it's expanded the audience for Nintendo, now it's time for Nintendo to hit all those new gamers with HD AAA core software, while also allowing users to be able to enjoy multi-platform games on their Nintendo console too.

E3 should be incredible, I expect Nintendo will reveal the real hook of this console, which will certainly have F all to do with raw power, but instead innovation which improves the videogame experience in their eyes. I expect it may have something to do with light & sound.

Sounds interesting. I think it's a given one way or another that the 3DS will have connectivity with the "Wii2".

It could be NGP/PS3 connectivity. The only portable Super Street Fighter IV is the 3DS game. But I'll say it's a rumor to be considered for Project Cafe.

However, the eShop cross-platform is my speculation.

So you think they are going to abandon their current marketing strategy, which caused them to dominate the games industry and return to their old strategy, which almost killed the company?

Thats absolutely and completely false. They sold EVERY gamecube at a profit, and even if they had taken a loss, they were printing money with the DS...

and to the one sayin if they go back to the core market , who said they aint going for boith seriously its still gonna have motio ncontrols ,. and be wii bc and gc bv most likely and with vc , how is that abandoning any one , in fact i remember iwata saying they wanted more gamers and iguess this is how their gonna do it talk to big name 3rd party stuidos come out with a hd wii ,with better then 360 graphics making it easier ot port those game over , and or hte new games, and still have wii games like wii sports and such , dont you know that would kick serious tail , if nintendo aimed at both markets by doing this 1-release it cheap -250-300 its hd have it include dvd or bluray player 2 - on par or better then 360 visuals is enough 3 -wii like controls with optional traditional controllers being sold like wii classic controller for third party core offerings i gues you guys never thought of this before after all wii does have some of this such as re and driver so a gta game is possible for wii 2

So... in other words, now it's time for Nintendo to put out a $600 console that no one in their expanded audience would even think about buying, and for Nintendo to get back into third place? :P

(As an aside, could you please not make your font white? In the light GameSpot theme that makes your post quite literally white-on-white, which is a little hard to read.)

I've tried switching to the dark theme but GameSpot refuses to let the setting stick, so I've resigned to my fate.

GTA5 wouldn't be so surprising, if the new console has similar hardware like the competition. Rockstar also released Bully, Manhunt 2 and that Tabletennis game in the Wiis early life.

I bring you a link to a sw topic about the GTA rumor for the Wii 2 (click here)I'll admit I didnt click on the link in that topic, but it seems like Rockstar does indeed have a dev kit for the yet to be revealed Wii 2 and will be making GTA 5 ready for the Wii 2's launch.

More rumors :

Retro Studio is coming with something on Cafe and it's a title that everyone wants them to do (Star Fox, F-Zero?) : http://paulgalenetwork.com/home/2011/04/18/retro-studios-working-on-a-project-everyone-wants-us-to-do-on-wii-2/

To boost this rumor, Retro is proceding to hire some people : http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/26104.

Others rumors:

  • Square Enix, Capcom, Sega, Konami, Activision, Rockstar/Take Two, Electronic Arts, Namcoand Ubisoft all have development kits.
  • They each have at least one game in development for the Wii 2.
  • Expect games to be coming to this system that you would never expect on a Nintendo console.
  • Nintendois kissing third party ****s with this console.
  • The new Nintendo controller sounds more ridiculous on paper. When you actually see the thing, it makes a lot more sense from a design standard.
  • Expect Nintendo to roll out the red carpet for third parties so their games don't get overshadowed. Nintendo has been preaching to third parties that third parties won't get screwed this time around, so if you're expecting a ton of amazing first party games at launch…well…think again. Nintendo wants a launch that creates confidence in third parties again so expect very few first party games at launch similar to the 3DS.
  • Star Fox is coming. I can't say when. Very good chance that it WONT be at E3. I am hearing Star Fox is coming for the new Nintendo system, but it is very early in development.
  • Nintendo solvedevery storage issue a third party could possibly have with the new console. I don't know if it's a harddrive or a different, cheaper way to store data.
  • Nintendo revamping their WiiWare and virtual consoleservices. I don't think it will be called WiiWare anymore.
  • Almost positive that we'll be seeing Pikmin in some shape or form.
  • A first person shooter that people love will be ported to the 3DS. I can't say what game, but it's popular among FPS gamers.
  • Expect a crapload of 3DS love at this E3. The show will be wayyy more 3DS than Wii 2 (Project Cafe). 3DS stuff will be at least 60 percent of the E3 pre-show.
  • Don't listen to anyone who says new Nintendo console will launch by end of 2011. They are idiots. This holiday season is all about the 3DS and Nintendo's E3 show will focus on that.
  • Don't expect many games to be shown at E3 for new Nintendo console, but expect all of the key features to be revealed.
  • Nintendo is thinking about launching Zelda: Skyward Sword around the same time as Wii 2 since Wii 2 is backwards compatible with Wii 1 games. They want to follow the same strategy when they launched Pokemon Black/White when 3DS was coming out.
  • I am 90 percent sure you will not see a Zelda: Skyward Sword port to the Wii 2. It will remain a Wii 1 game.
  • Nintendo approached Hideo Kojima about the new Nintendo console. Nintendo and Hideo Kojimahave a good relationship with each other.
  • A Resident Evil game is in development for the new Nintendo system. I don't know if Capcom is developing an RE spinoff or something part of the "main" Resident Evil series.
  • Retrostudios started working on a Wii 2 game. It is NOT Metroid. Retro is done with Metroid.

I pasted the actual picture in the post, and at the very bottom is a link.

Both seem to be working for me. I'll see if I can upload it to imageshack to get a better post going.

I think the images looks pretty fake lol

The ones with the controller and the 'HD touch screen' looks like a still from a course on Mario Kart Wii, anyone know the course im thinking of? The controller kinda looks like GC Controller + Wii Classic Controller...?

Nice find though, wonder if Nintendo will say anything on Tuesday or not?

It would be awkward to play current Wii games that need the IR pointer with such a controller. Unless of course the WiiMote and WiiMotion+ are equally compatible. In any case, I don't expect too big of a change on this front.

I don't think the controllers will be like that, but based on the style, it looks like a DS or 3DS. IF that were the case and it actually did come like this, I expect the 3DS could be used as a controller for this "project cafe".

I believe that it is very likely that the controller could have a screen in it, and that the consoles design will look awesome. But something tells me those pics are fake, but then again they could just be concepts of the protypes.

More new rumors from IGN:

-Pricing between $350 to $400.
-Could be released this year between mid-October and early November.
-Additionally, IGN has learned that the system will be based on a revamped version of AMD's R700 GPU architecture, not AMD's Fusion technology as previously believed, which will, as previously reported, out perform the PlayStation 3's NVIDIA 7800GTX-based processor. Like the Xbox 360, the system's CPU will be a custom-built triple-core IBM PowerPC chipset, but the clocking speeds will be faster. The system will support 1080p output with the potential for stereoscopic 3D as well, though it has not been determined whether that will be a staple feature.
-Console design comparable to that of the original Xbox 360 and the system is likely to resemble a modernized version of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES).
-Possible name : Nintendo Stream.

I love new console rumours. Sounds like this is going to be a more 'mainstream' console, but with the appeal of the Wii also. I wouldn't read too much into the 'power' of the console, because raw power doesn't translate into better looking and performing games. The actual graphics hardware/software technology of 2011 will give better results than what was possible on similar 'power' when the PS3 and 360 were developed. I just want to see what this console will offer that will convince people to jump from what is available right now; bring on E3.

Controllers rumors :

More rumor news coming from Kotaku:

- more sources confirm a touchscreen, two analog sticks and a camera for the controller
- screen will measure 6.2 inches
- controller will also include eight buttons
- controller is being positioned as a replacement for the Wiimote
- console will support Wiimote/Nunchuk
- new games may be built around Wiimote/Nunchuk, or the Project Cafe controller, or both
- two players may be able to use different control options, one on Wiimote/Nunchuk and one on Project Cafe controller
- controller will receive data wirelessly from the console
- uses for the screen/streaming could be putting the player's inventory or map on the controller screen, and allow gamers to combine it with the controller's camera to snap photos that could be imported into a game
- controller screen may be used for a separate experience altogether

Found a 'grainy colour image' of the console here:

the text is a little hard to read though

Here is another mockup from 01Net.

01Net Mockup.

The display on the controller is not high definition, but instead at a resolution in the range of 800 by 500 pixels.

They re-iterate a June 2012 time-frame for release, but say by that point the design of the controller could change.

The website is unable to confirm the final name of the console, but they refer to Stream, which is the rumored name as "a plausible and clever choice." They then elaborate on the possible streaming functionality of Nintendo's next system:

The console will be able to stream wirelessly streaming multiple types of streams (different media, games) to the knobs.

I personally don't like this mock up even if other think it is the most accurate.

Edit* here is the link I found the image at.
