I heard on G4 that Microsoft has paid rare alot of cash and they are not going to put this game on VC so thanks alot Microsoft.SSBFan12
Thats excellent. Ninty shafted us on Goldeneye and not sharing any other their NES/SNES games on XBLA and PSN. What goes around comes around.

That was a rumor that wasn't true
Neither one can release it.

\Me too...although my 360 is probably in TX getting fixed cause of the RRoD. I think RARE has declined in their quality since the buyout though....that's a shame.

Wii60 FTW! If you want to play all the games available, go multiplatform. That's the way it's always been, that's the way it'll always be.

They're not that bad, but not as good as the N64 days, and yeah, it's good to be a Wii360 owner, I'm one of them as well, I'll be picking up both Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie on XBLA eventually.[QUOTE="dazzzilla"]All im happy about is that they couldnt take DK with them :PSSBFan12Well DK is really for Nintendo. No, it was originally made by Nintendo. Rare sold the character models and rights to characters in franchises that Nintendo originally made, like Donkey Kong and Star Fox (which is why Diddy and Krystal show up even though they were in Rare-made games), while Nintendo relinquished all rights to characters and scenarios in games that were original Rare franchises, like Killer Instinct and Banjo.

We might not see Banjo Kazooie on Wiiware because of Microsoft!!!
Of course, Microsoft owns Rare so why would people think that They would let it go on VC I would like BK on Live Arcade better than VC
I peronally like the Xbox way better, dont get me wrong I like my Wii it just doesnt many good games like the N64 had... Boy do i miss those good old times

Where it gets weird is how characters like Banjo and Conker didn't appear in the DS remake of Diddy Kong racing, but other characters like Timber, Tiptup, etc. are considered to be property of Nintendo (or at least I assume, since they are in the game).

I would say too
We might not see Goldeneye on xbla because of Nintendo!!!
ya but you know what,
they cant have thier goldeneye so its fair ,
and im welling to bet nintendo will get activisions permission as well as free radicals permission to redo goldeneye,
remember even though rare made goldeneye for the n64 ,, , they sold the bond license away , hence why ea was allowed to use the goldeneye name
and the team behind goldeneye left rare lol, went to free radical , which has timesplitters 4 coming to wii
so why are people saying goldeneye cant happen , lol i dont get it , rare sold all the bond licensing off , they cant do either so what can they do ,
activision is the holder of any future 007 titles as well as past titles, in the bond franchise,
if rare was gonna sue over goldeneye they would have already when ea released goldeneye rogue agent ,

Ummm that was a rumor, neither nintendo, rare or microsoft own the licence to the jame bond games. Just think about it for a moment......

I never understand his posts eitherwhats not to understand? rare doesnt own the licence to the james bond games so they can not release goldeneye without having to no doubt pay activision to do so since they do own the licence to make bond games.

That I understand. Everything else, norare doesnt own the licence to the james bond games so they can not release goldeneye without having to no doubt pay activision to do so since they do own the licence to make bond games.

False
Rare still owns the rights to Goldeneye
The license wasn't transferred correctly when it left Rare. Rare owns all the rights to the game they made.
Nintendo can't do one single thing about that. They're helpless as a newborn baby when it comes to anything with Goldeneye.
Someone not doing the correct paperwork let Rare destroy any hope of Nintenod getting that game.
Yeah, Banjo Kazzoi may have been on a N64 system and is being revived, but the franchise always belonged to rare.
wiifan001
Except Microsoft now owns the franchise.

Why do I have to be so specific and why do people have to be so critical around here??
Rare is like a 2nd party to Microsoft. It still belongs to Rare even though Microsoft now owns the company Rare. MS doesn't directly own the Banjo-Kazooi franchise in a 1st party way.

Rare is 1st party, and Microsoft 100% owns Banjo(and Rare).
