I put other as I believe that it would probably need to do all of those things to get a 10...but even then it may not.
I thought TP was amazing...
Nonetheless, I will list what I believe Zelda Wii will need.
1.) Full voice acting. But keep Link silent. It worked fabulously in Metroid Prime 3.
2.) Orchestrated music. Not one midi sound.
3.) A very well thought out story that fully develops all the characters involved and doesn't follow the necessary turn of events (although all 3d zelda's ahve been pretty solid). It doesn't necessarily have to be dark but I wouldn't mind it (and for those of you acting like Zelda was never dark, ALttp/Majora's Mask/ Windwaker/ TP, all say hello. But hopefully darker than those if it were to be a dark story.
4.) Some really well done cutscenes. I know this may be a dumb recommendation to some, but some fully fleshed out scenes would be really great. I will say this, I do not want Metal Gear Solid 1000. I hate playing Metal Gear because every 2 steps i trigger a cutscene. But some more than the typical Zelda would be a nice step up.
5.) 100% Wiimotion+ use. Some actual 1 v. 1 sword fights would be epic.
6.) A really good art s.t.y.l.e. with stellar presentation/graphics. Staying in line with the TP art s.t.y.l.e but bumping up the graphics. Push the little engine that could. It should honestly surpass Mario Galaxy tenfold, in every way, shape and form.
7.) More setpieces. More camera angles. No, I don't want God of War 1000. Nor do i want button timed events. But some great set piece moments would be great. aka. More on horse field battles, or boat battles, 1 v. 1 duels infront of a sunset or something. You guys get what i'm saying.
8.) OPTIONS: Maybe give us a difficulty option. Give a casual option and a Zelda pro option with maybe a master quest thrown in there. Have the ability to turn wii motion+ on or off maybe? In order for the "casuals" to not get tired swinging, let them button mash if they choose.
9.) Take true advantage of the new save/video walkthrough system.
10.) Main quest, no sidequests should take minimum 40+ hours.
11.)Sidequests should add between 20-30 hours more gameplay.
12.) Not always dungeon crawling, or if there is, mess with the formula. Maybe do a couple of dungeons then all of a sudden a few set piece moments or something. Just messing with the pace will feel fresh in itself.
Feel free to add or disagree with this list.
[QUOTE="nini200"]*throws TP review on nini's head*All it has to do to get a 10 is be released and the Zelda Fans will Rejoice as if it's the only game they know. Gamespot will give it a 10 because it's the only Nintendo game they know besides Mario.

Honestly TP didn't count due to the fact of it being a GC port with Wii controls. Zelda Wii will be Motion Plus and with awesome 3D graphics and a most interesting storyline (as far as the Master Sword is concerned at least). I for one am not really into Zelda but I know what will happen when it's released especially after people's (even here) speculation and hype, even by GS themselves.

One of my favorite things about the Zelda games is when you first enter a new town. The excitement of it all is awesome. Like you're experiencing something new. In TP the first time you enter towns you're a stupid wolf and the towns are empty and the color was distorted. They can start by NOT doing that. NoHoGamerI actually liked that, it let you see the towns in two different lights(no pun intended) unlike say in Ocarina of Time where it just had the day cycle and the night cycle in Twilight Princess the towns sort of had a feeling of evolution by doing that. Thats one I felt the Zelda games always needed, the world needs to evolve as the game progress' instead of just staying static through the whole adventure. They touched on it in OoT with the time skip but it was mostly just a personnel move instead of the world evolving, they stepped it up in Twilight Princess with the Twilight and then on top of that things happened, new shops opening, people moving and changing etc. however I think they could expand on it more, make a world a living breathing part of the adventure, have people telling stories of how Link saved thier town, have new quest open up that are brought about because you did a quest someplace else, like say you rescue a village from like some bandits or something so another village on the other side of Hyrule would hear about it and hire you to do something else. The world of Hyrule needs some more life breathed into it, though that is more of a western development tactic, I wouldn't mind seeing Zelda adopt it.
I honestly don't know what to say about this besides, it needs to be epic and fresh feeling just like Phantom Hourglass felt.

i dont think we'll have much chance to hype if nintendo will only talk about it with less than a year for it's release :P i played TP on the GC, so instead of feeling like a rushed port, it felt like the ultimate zelda masterpiece  (of course wind waker is still better, but TP is a close second :P).All of the above as well as more/better sidequests as well as a good artstyle. I didn't like the TP artstyle so i'm hoping this will be better. Also I like the idea of a living, breathing Hyrulewith its own personality kind of like people how personify NYC if you catch my drift. Also it would be cool if they could show more culture in the different species in the Zelda universe, as it seems every game after OoT has been a step back in that regard. To add to that it would be neat if you ran into one of the rock guys (drawing a blank sorry)in a human town or somthing and see how different he acts, maybe like a mix of human/rock guys culture or somthing.
Reinvent the series I guess and make it feel fresh and new but still make it feel like a Zelda game.

something simple like "movement" with the stylus defnitely felt fresh to me. It made attacking simple, it made the use of weapons easy, and the game also let you make notes on your maps.
This helps out everyone as awhole, not just casual gamers.
The only thing I didn't care for was the difficulty again, but I think that's something we'll just have to deal with.

What was fresh about Phantom Hourglass? Moving with the stylus? it felt quite fresh. but the "going back to the ocean temple" was kinda annoying. every boss had a really unique way of defeating, and every dungeon had a nice trick involving the DS's unique features. not to mention that part where you needed to put the DS on sleep mode... just epic :P[QUOTE="sonic_spark"]Basically, you're just describing a run of the mill action game on 360/PS3. You misunderstood me. Dungeons = good. But going from dungeon to dungeon needs to be broken up. Don't get me wrong, i want 15+ dungeons, dungeons = Zelda. But i'm saying, to keep it fresh without harming what makes Zelda special.
Second of all, i don't want a PS3/360 repeat here. But something like midi, even the most bias fanboys (one of which i believe i am) agree that after what was done with Mario Galaxy, the prospect of a fully orchestrated soundtrack seems like a natural evolution for the franchise.
Voice acting. If Metroid had it, and it was good, then imagine you getting in a battle with Ganon and he's got this epic deafening voice challenging you.
And better cutscenes? I don't want a movie (like i said). I really liked the thought that was in the the TP cutscenes, the natural evolution of that would be great.
Otherwise, I don't see how i was "sacreligious"? In fact, I think that the points i made would be almost no brainers in terms of a natural evolution of the franchise. Correct me if i'm wrong.
I was a little disapointed with not being able to do certain actions in TP that I thought would add challenge and variety to the game. In situations where link's arms aren't being used, he should be able to use his bow, such as when running or riding the spinner. I always thought that the boss to the destert region in TP would be sooooo much better if we had to shoot certain parts of him, then spin at him, then slash him when he goes down. They need to just flesh out the items so they have multiple purposes, and add crazy combinations such as iron boots + spinner = magnetic spinner, or being able to use one hook/claw shot with the sword or another one handed item like the megaton hammer. Puzzle complexity could be amaizing, like having to hook/claw shot to a point, stick to the wall with the iron boots, shoot a target to open a door with the bow, and then glide down to safety with a magic leaf or parachute item.
Aside from that, I want it to have dificulty settings because the puzzles are always fun and chalenging, but the combat has been stale for many games now.
Harder difficulty. Make an option for different difficulty settings. Add harder/more challenging puzzels depending on difficulty in dungeons and outside of them. With each setting, make bosses or specific enemies have more abilities/different stratagies. (Sort've like Hard Modes for Ulduar in World of Warcraft, for those who know what I am talking about.)
Bigger landscape. Not that I think TP was small, but a bigger landscape is more epic to me (Oblivion for example) Or make it more explorable with secret/hidden areas that are difficult to find.
Well balanced/designed Motion Plus control scheme. I think sword and shield is made for motion plus. I can see sword strikes needing to be somewhat precise while shield in left hand doesn't need to be moved to many places.
Don't make weapons/items from the dungeon obsolete after that dungeon and then maybe used in the last. Incorperate them in every/majority of the dungeons. Then add secret parts of the dungeons/areas accessible after you have gotten them for more/better items and integrate that into the storyline or something.
I liked the mask collecting concept in Majora's Mask. I'd like to see something similar return. No more bug collecting please.
Like I've said in above statements, secret things to find. Areas, items, ect. That's part of what makes some games awesome, hidden things to find. Make most about easy/medium difficulty to find or get, then make some hard and maybe like one or two items really hard to obtain or areas to find. Some might find this a silly idea but I love exploring, and it'd bring some replayability to the game.
Voice acting? Mainly for everyone but Link (Unless they had an option to turn it off, because I'd imagine some people would be unhappy with any voice they give him.) I guess more of an interactive feel is what I'm looking for.
Let's not forget, zombies and shotguns! :o Nah I'm just kidding, could you imagine that in Zelda though?
If they pull that off it would get a 50, and win more than game of the year. It would recieve major scientific awards.Well, considering that Ocarina of Time got a 10 for being the first 3D Zelda, it logically follows that the next Zelda should be in 4D to get another 10. :P
GabuEx
I can't see the next Zelda game gettinga 10 maybe a 9.5 but not a 10. If it had to the game would have to have all of those things mentioned while still feeling like your typical Zelda game.

Contriving a voice for a character like Ganon will be crazy-hard. If done badly, many would prefer no voice-work at all. Think of the Castlevania:SOTN. How Dracula's voice acting created a game of fear and violence into something hilariously corny.

Give the NPCs a personality ... like in Majoras Mask.
Make it more depressing and dark ... like Majoras Mask.
Remove Ganon / Triforce for once ... like in Majoras Mask.
: (
Dungeons that require most of your inventory to pass/complete.
A more actioney feel (I had a dream once that Zelda had a Ninja Gaiden or Devil May Cry Gameplay) this is probably not as important.
More exploration.
No Wolf mode... also no fetching light balls before/after dungeons.
Awesome story with a bit of a more adult feel (The fans that grew up this game aren't kids anymore, stop treating us like them! Especially like in Tp with the insanely easy boss fights and extra insanely easy enemies, did anyone actually die in battle in that game?).
An atmosphere of some kind (like a light comedy feel, or a dark tone... TP kinda was dark, but it wasn't exactly gritty).
Take it back to exploratory roots!

dungeons: agreed.
more action: and more challenge too.
more exploration: i say more side dungeons. minidungeon FTW!
no wolf and no light balls (actually, seeds): i actually liked the seeds and the wolf part, but that was something from TP only, i doubt we'll see it again.
"Awesome story with a bit of a more adult feel (The fans that grew up this game aren't kids anymore, stop treating us like them! Especially like in Tp with the insanely easy boss fights and extra insanely easy enemies, did anyone actually die in battle in that game?)." i actually committed suicide in the ice dungeon :P i put the cannonball and the bomb inside the cannon, and before it exploded, i put link's head in front of it. one hit kill :P not to mention constant drownings because i wanted to see if i managed to go all the way down kakariko's fountain with the iron boots and back to the top before link ran out of oxygen
"atmosphere": we're having our doses of fun and WW silliness in the DS, and the concept art is incredibly similar to TP's, so i'd say they already decided it'll be a "dark" game.
"gannon": i think it's just one N, and i'd rather see vaati than ganondorf AGAIN.
and something i'm adding: more use for the items other than puzzle solving... and stuff to use them on OUTSIDE the dungeons. and a weakr bow (1hit kill WTF?)
and even more sidequests.
