I hate that everyone keeps calling it a current-gen consolebonesawisready5
Whose everyone? Anyway, Bayonetta 2 is an interesting pickup and the price and date is what I expected. Didn't expect the multiple SKU thing to be true though, its a new one for Nintendo.

Can someone explain to me how a Console OS can take up 1GB of RAM? The PS3/360 OS' use about 30MB. Surely even if they take into account the controller stream; can't nintendo get it down to 512MB?

I wish Amazon would hurry up and list the damn thing for preorder already. I want to reserve the Deluxe edition as quickly as possible.

I must say I was really impressed with what I saw from the Wii U today. Really looking forward to the games and utilizing Wii TVii.

On the PS3/360 you can only do one thing at a time.

Remember, guys never set up yourself high for expectations. I remember being so excited for the 3DS but was really disappointed by it (still love it though). I'm probably going to wait a few months before getting this.

I really want to get one at launch, but I might end up holding off until around April/May. I'm unsure at the moment, I still have time to decide.

$350 is too steep. "Then get the other bu-" NO! It must the be the deluxe edition. Bayonetta 2 exclusive to Wii U Holy Crap! It's that kind of 3rd party support that shows Nintendo means freekin business. Monster Hunter Ultimate is also exciting; I played over 500 hours in Monster Hunter 3 and I do want to play more of this franchise. NintendoLand being bundled with the Wii U is a good move. Nintendo needs that free game to showcase.

Super excited for the Wii U! I think the price is right on and the potential for the system is there. Sony and MS are making a mistake by atleast not tempting people to wait with an announcement of their consoles.

If it had 32GB EDRAM it would be far more expensive and much, much bigger. Obviously you meant 32MB EDRAM.

Yeah, it was about 1-1:30 for me. The clerk said he and his co-workers are frustrated because they have to wait until the end of business day to pre-order theirs. That sucks! What's the point of working at a game store if you can't have perks!

I cracked, put 200 down on a deluxe black Wii U :) My GS said they'd already had 20+ preorders since the conference, I'm so excited to be apart of the launch excitement! A buddy of mine pre-ordered one too, so we're going to go to launch!

I was going to wait for Amazon, but I put in a pre-order at GS for a Deluxe system. #8 in line apparently. I'll switch to Amazon though if the opportunity presents itself.

That's a lot better than I was expecting. Unfortunately I just spent the money I was saving up for a Wii U on a GPU for my PC. I'll be waiting until next year to get one. Looks great though.

Few additions as in...

  • The 4 weapon classes that were not available in Tri: Bow, Gun Lance, Hunting Horn, and Dual Swords.
  • Over twice the amount of monsters compared to Tri. Tri had a total of 35 monsters, Ultimate has a total of 72. This means that there are many more armor sets and weapons.
  • Many monsters have new attacks, especially in G Rank. G Rank is the highest difficulty in MH games and you unlock it after completing High Rank. It was another feature that was excluded from Tri.
  • New areas, such as the Mountain Stream from Portable 3rd.
  • A second companion for offline.
  • Dynamic shadows. Minor, but a plus.
  • Several G-Level armor have new designs and skills.

Yep.

I think it's worth it, but I may be bias since I'm obsessed with MH. :P

Also, Monster Hunter 4 won't be localized until much later. At least we have more MH to play as we wait.

I would buy it again for the resolution increase alone :P Monster Hunter Tri had such beautiful vistas and detailed monsters, it begged for a clearer picture. Have they said anything about updating textures or anything?

I think I might just go to gamestop tomorow to pre-order it...though, It might be better for me to wait intill Target has their pre-orders ready so that I can get a 10% discount on it, as my brother works at Target.

Well, I guess that's the official death of the wiimote. No publisher is going to ever allow support it for any real use since it's not in the box. The wiimote is full of un-tapped potential and it's going to stay like that forever now.

WreckEm711

Black Ops 2 has full wiimote-nunchuck compatibility :) Online multiplayer with IR massacre at 1080p 60fps? GODLY.

As much as I hate what Activision has done with COD, that looks fun.

Can someone explain to me how a Console OS can take up 1GB of RAM? The PS3/360 OS' use about 30MB. Surely even if they take into account the controller stream; can't nintendo get it down to 512MB?DeX2010
I guess if it's streaming 2 Gamepads, it has stuff in the background (browser, Miiverse, etc.) it could take up a lot of processing power, but I'm with you. I can't see it taking up that much for any reason based off of what we know now.

It doesn't have a bluray drive, I don't see either Nintendo or MS adding one of those to their console, at most I see MS allowing for an add on.

On the Wii, we got a remake of Okami. We got Mega Man 9 and Mega Man 10. Monster Hunter 3 is my 2nd most played game on the Wii of all time. Tatusnoko vs Capcom has been brought to the U.S with online and new characters, and is the Wii's best fighting game. I really like Capcom's contributions to the Wii

[QUOTE="wiifan001"]Hold on, Hold on! This is Monster Hunter THREE Ultimate. We've already got Monster Hunter 3 on the Wii. So we're looking at an HD remake of Monster Hunter 3, with a few additions?ANIMEguy10034

I didn't hear about any of this until now. Wow, those are very nice additions :P I think it would benefit Capcom if they removed the "3" in the title >.>

I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that this is just TriG with cross platform play (3DS version) and the Wii U version is the same thing with additional online and I would assume enhanced HD graphics (ala the PS3 version of the game).

Reggie on making money off Wii U price, Mario overload, free services, free-to-play and much more

The following comes from Reggie Fils-Aime...

- Nintendo believes in making money on hardware
- won't comment on how much they're making on each Wii U, but not selling at a loss
- Nintendo likes to pack in as much content into the best price possible
- this is why Nintendo offers services like online without having to pay for them
- Nintendo doesn't believe they're overdoing Mario titles
- Reggie says each entry is unique, different and new
- they don't want to 'kill the golden goose' by putting out too many Mario games
- third parties will discuss their release dates for Wii U titles
- Nintendo confident they can get consumers to jump in on Wii U this holiday
- GamePads aren't being sold separately yet because Nintendo needs to make sure they have enough GamePads to put in each retail bundle. They are worrying about that first.
- Wii U supports Full priced games, smaller digital content, free-to-play, consumable content, subscription services
- Reggie worries all the time, but focuses on "making sure that we're as prepared as humanly possible to deliver on what is, again, a groundbreaking Nintendo innovation."

To be expected it Capcom! ...hence why I've already boycott them.

there's plenty of reasons to hate Capcom. But sadly, this isn't one of them.
