This game sounds so awesome, thanks for the blog. I'll be picking this up next week, can't wait!

Lostwinds. That game is a breath of fresh air, it's really awesome. X-RemnantHahaha yeah fresh air indeed.:P
I just beat FFCC: My Life as a King. It took me 196 in game days (they do go by rather quick, though with some effort, you can lengthen them). Overall, it probably took me somewhere within 20 hours to complete.
Someone asked what do you do. It has been called the FF meets Sim City. That is a fair reference. You are a king in an empty kingdom, you must develop the kingdom (houses, parks, shops, inns, training areas, etc) and each day you can set out a number of behests (only one at first per day). A behest is when you tell your adventurers what you need done (whether to get some item for the kingdom, or to just level up your adventurers). It should be noted, you - as the king - are not allowed to participate in battle so you cannot see any of the outside of the kingdom action. However, you do extremely detailed reports on what your adventurers did, if they completed the task, leveled up, and even more detailed - how much dmg from an enemy per turn did that dish out and take in return.
I bought all of the add-ons. Doing so, I reallyrecommendbuying the 800pt add-on that allows the extra dungeons and the three (3) other races to move into your kingdom. It is a nice touch.
The game overall can get repetitive. But there is a story within the building craze. As you progress the story you enter a new chapter. It can get aggravating at the middle of the game as the days seem to fly by, but you can increase the days through keeping your citizens happy enough and making sure they have a good family connection at home - this allows them to keep their houses lights on longer at night, which then allows you to stay up longer per day.
Overall, first play-through Ireceivedan A ranking. There is an S ranking, and it is averaged off of three categories. Once completed, you can then create a new game from that finish file and start with new rewards.
I know there has been a lot of mystery around this game, and many are apprehensive to purchase it, because of this I decided to go into some detail about the game while keeping the story vague to not spoil anything for anyone. Hope this helps.

wow, wish I had the time to beat games like that in such short a time. I just bought it tonight, I'm about 30 minutes in, and so far it seems alright. It looks like it could do with a little more polish. It looks to have a fair amount of strategy based creation (keeping up with funds, managing happiness)
FFCC if you at all like city simms, rpgs, or video games in general.
So far (I'm on day 60) its as addictive as civilization.
Ok so I couldn't wait until next week to get My Life as a King.... and it is awesome if you are into simulation type games. Really fun and addictive, I kept wanting to play just one more day (the days go by pretty fast). Definately worth the $15, even without the download content this game is fun. There is really nothing on it like Wii (well SimCity on the VC sort of), I hope more of these type of games show up.
Defend your castle!
Any one who likes a good game has to get this one its got grate 4way co-op and it's jump in jump out co-op and it is really addictive. Some people mite find it repetitive and it gets crazy intense. There is no real story to the game. The main menu is pretty basic all it has is new game continue and credits. Your curser is a bred clip and they removed the blood(if that is good or bad I will leave that to you to decide). Its still lots of fun so if you don't have it get it!
So far i've managed to get Pop, Defend Your Castle, FFCC, and Lost Winds. (no i'm not a millionarie :) )
I've posted some first impressions of them on my Gamespot Blog, so you can check there if you want. But the one i've been playing more =right now is Pop. Is just FUN. Simple yet fun.
And i've Played Defend Your Castle for about... 3 hours. And the game really sucks you in, but after SOME time you'll be kinda bored of just throwing those villagers to the skies.
I haven't played FFCC a lot so i can't give my opinion about it.
Lost Winds is pretty cool, even though i'm lost and don't know where to go. It's a great game.
I'll fully review them later becaus i'm just too lazy to do it right now :P
Wii Ware Fever
i think a lot of us have it, buying games just because they came out, i think some of u guys bought games and you dont even like them, so i am going to take the higher road... What do you guys think?
NEED MAJOR HELP! i dunt know whether i should get FFCC or Lost Winds, also i'm trying to stick to games that are rather long. Or should I just wait for dr. mario?Matthew_han
like I said above.. I qoute myself:
I guess it all come to which genre you prefer, I can not stand the type of my life as a king, is like a sim type as far as I can see with some increase stats and such, but you do not get to battle/see the battle you send your guadrsto...
Lostwind is a platafomer, defenetely a short one. But imo, is the ONLY thing bad about it.. the game is fun and have some challenge into it....
This would be a really nice time.. I played about 1:30h
Also suiko a couple of post above made a excellent "what to expect above"
Hope taht helps...

same
Very much so.
And by the way, GameSpot gave LostWinds a 5.5 and claimed that the music was awefull and the controls broken..erhem??
The users rate it 8.9 and GS 5.5 seems to me like there is a serious bias somewhere...or maybe tasteless reviewers...
Ah well, Enjoy it. It is superb.
What is Wii Ware? And how do you get it??? Tell more please..FunkyHeadHunterGo to the Wii shop channel and it should be there, between Vritual Console and Channels. If you can't see it, try to update your Wii. Wiiware is for new downloable games.

They gave My Life as a King a 5.0 and I am loving that game even without any extra content purchased yet. So whatever.
shas anyone even played blackjack because on the Wii it says it isnt even a popular title
oh and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WiiWare_games has a list of WiiWare games and it says Dr.Mario is coming monday
Nintendo didn't make the game, the people at Square Enix did. Blame them. >_>I'm not sure about Dr. Mario, sorry man.
I was excited about Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, but once I read the review, I immediately changed my mind. There is no fighting?!?!?!!? That completely ruins the Final Fantasy name. Good job, Nintendo!

It's still a really fun game...
I' thinking of getting My Life As a King, but I'm afraid I'll get bored (i've heard it's very repetitive), what do you guys think?bball_freak_2
I love it, I spent over 30 hours on the version with DLC
If you like games like Harvest Moon then it's worth a play, with nothing added it should be able 15 hours but you miss out on three races.
If you do get download content get it fast since you can only have 16 adventurers so if you have 16 guys and gals already the extra races just go walk around the kingdom.
If you expect any kind of PRG stuff going on just be aware it has none.
I cant believe nobody is buying lost winds :( If you look at the popular games section, it shows it below ff and dyc. Just goes to show what ppl knows about great games these days.

Both those games are awesome, actually. Crystal Chronicles is good enough to be a $50 Wii game and DYC can get really fun, and it 's only $5.
are the two games that came out today any goodmusicman748I won't say they are bad, but Star Soldier R turned me off because it is limited to either 2 minute or 5 minute time trials aiming for high scores, and there is nothing else to it. If it had more depth I would most likely recommend it, but other than that and an online leader board I can't say I highly recommend it.
Not sure about Critter Round-Up though, it looks interesting, but the price seems a little high for what it looks like to me.
I'll just throw this out there....
Star Soldier R was apparently created for a Japanese competition. They went crazy over it, so Hudson decided to make it a WiiWare game and offer the rest of the world a chance to compete as well with online leaderboards.
That doesn't justify the fact that it's pretty shallow, but it at least explains the reasoning behind it. It's not like Hudson just decided to create a two-minute WiiWare game for the hell of it. It wasn't originally planned for WiiWare at all, as far as I understand. I can't find the episode of On the Spot where the Hudson rep explains this though, so I'm going by memory. If I'm wrong, someone please correct me.

It was on the Hudson Caravan 2007 tour, actually using the Wii console to play. The one comment this article got ended up being the truth. Can you imagine if this was on a disc?
And I would also like to know about Toki Tori. It just looks so..1996. Is it the good part of the year or the part that nobody talks about anymore?
