i knew about that, but he doesnt say it because he respects Royce, the whole D12-Royce thing was stupid to begin with, i want more Bad Meets Evil.

still a subliminal diss, something you said em never used to do...

not a diss, he stops himself, he was about to say the name (not subliminal) and catches himself, it was more of a "im gonna sit this one out" than a diss

do you even know what subliminal means, it's a diss directed at someone, but the name isn't attached. the diss is still present, the person on the recieving end is just not mentioned. He wasn't cathing himself, just sending a jab towards Royce, emcee's do it all the time. One of the better aspects of the Nas and Jay diss is the subliminals that lead up to it.

i know what a subliminal is, i took from that he almost entered the beef but stayed out, D-12 has stated in interviews that Em didnt want any part of that beef

people state lots of things in interviews, fact is, Em said in the song that he was trying to figure out how to battle his onw clone (Royce), if Em wanted no parts of the beef, why would he spend time trying to figure out how to battle his own Royce

he didnt battle royce...that Royyyy... is the closest thing to beefing with him, hell How Come was asking Royce why they werent cool.

He said in the song he was trying to figure out how to battle his own clone, he was refering to Royce there. People said that Em and Royce sounded alike. Even Royce said this on a track "And since I was down with slim, that a sound like him" and actually How Come that was about proof, Em and Proof weren't friends for a while when Em first blew up. That's why you saw Royce more then Proof and D12. Rocye and Eminem didn't have the relationship that the song presents, they were introduced in the late 90's (around 97).

uh Royce was never signed to Shady...that line refers Eminem blowing up

We were so young,
So full of life and vivrance,
Side by side wherever you was ridin', I went,
So close or most us some Bonnie and Clyde ****
When Ronnie died you was right by my side,
With a shoulder to cry on and a tissue to wipe my eyes,
And a bucket to catch every tear I cried inside it,
You even had the same type of childhood I did,
Sometimes I just wanna know why,
Is it that you sur-came to yours,
And mine I survived it,
You ran the streets I nine to fived it,
We grew up, grew apart this time went by us,
Then I blew up to both yours and mine surprises,
Now I feel the vibe I just cant describe it,
Much as your pride tries to hide it,
You're cold your touch is just like ice,
And your eyes is the look of resentment,
I can sense it and I don't like it

If the verse is about Rocye, why does it talk about Ronnie who died YEARS before Royce and Eminem met...

I copied the lyrics from another site :P Em is talking about the same person in the song, there is nothing that indicates a switch, not too mention the video shows a dude with dreads, something Proof was know to have. The same cannot be said for Royce.

I hope his next album is good, I've said it numerous times, but I see no indication of it being good because of the music he has recently released. Hell I hope all rap albums are good, but hoping and reality are two different things.

no its definitely about Royce

How come we dont even talk no more
And you dont even call no more
We dont barely keep in touch at all
And I dont even feel the same love when we hug no more
And I heard it through the grape vine we even beefin' now
After all the years we been down
Aint no way no how, this **** can't be true
We family aint a damn thing changed, unless it's you!

why would Em say he doesnt talk to proof anymore, also that line i quoted from Proof further proves it. The song is blatantly about Royce.

I think he might be talking about Royce because in the song hes telling somone to call him. Like they haven't talked in a long time. And i think he was on good terms with proof when he made this song correct me if im wrong. But thats my theory.

i knew about that, but he doesnt say it because he respects Royce, the whole D12-Royce thing was stupid to begin with, i want more Bad Meets Evil.

still a subliminal diss, something you said em never used to do...

not a diss, he stops himself, he was about to say the name (not subliminal) and catches himself, it was more of a "im gonna sit this one out" than a diss

do you even know what subliminal means, it's a diss directed at someone, but the name isn't attached. the diss is still present, the person on the recieving end is just not mentioned.

Rocye and Eminem didn't have the relationship that the song presents, they were introduced in the late 90's (around 97).

nah How Come was more about Royce, Proof was even better friends with Royce than Em was "the fools i use to rap with all expect magic, like my fingers get to snappin and poof it just happens" refers to getting Royce signed to Shady.

uh Royce was never signed to Shady...that line refers Eminem blowing up

If the verse is about Rocye, why does it talk about Ronnie who died YEARS before Royce and Eminem met...

the first part is proof, i agree, but the second part is definitely royce, "your eyes is (not was) the look of resentment" also i didnt say Royce got signed to Shady, but he tried to. Its "you succame to yours"

no you are right, Em never had beef with Proof, they were best friends, Em even blew D12 up with him, so Royce felt left out, then the D-12 fiasco and Em never got to make peace with Royce

Proof's verse was about royce, and the chorus was general, but nothing in Em's verse matches the relationship him and Rocye had...not to mention it goes with the little tiff that cause Em and Proof to go apart when Em first blew up. Em and Proof were best friends, but when Em blows up, Royce is the face we see and is Em's hypeman, a role Proof used to fill before that point.

Actually when he blew up he brought Royce with him to aftermath. That I'm sure of. If you ever see Beef 2 (a hip-hop rivilry documentary) it details this beef.

but that is changed after the first album, the song had a riff about Proof at the beginning but in general it was about Royce, now that that is settled we are still absolutely nowhere, we will finish this argument when King Mathers drops.

The main thing is Ronnie, Em's half bro or cousin (i forget which) that died in 91, Em and Royce didn't meet unitl around 97, how exactly did Em cry on Royce's shoulder when they didn't meet until 6 years later...that makes no sense...

If the verse is about Rocye, why does it talk about Ronnie who died YEARS before Royce and Eminem met...

the first part is proof, i agree, but the second part is definitely royce, "your eyes is (not was) the look of resentment" also i didnt say Royce got signed to Shady, but he tried to. Its "you succame to yours"

I copied the lyrics from another site :P Em is talking about the same person in the song, there is nothing that indicates a switch, not too mention the video shows a dude with dreads, something Proof was know to have. The same cannot be said for Royce.

I think he might be talking about Royce because in the song hes telling somone to call him. Like they haven't talked in a long time. And i think he was on good terms with proof when he made this song correct me if im wrong. But thats my theory.

no you are right, Em never had beef with Proof, they were best friends, Em even blew D12 up with him, so Royce felt left out, then the D-12 fiasco and Em never got to make peace with Royce

That took place in 2002, Em first record came out in 1998...D12 was not on SSLP, and no one saw D12 until after Royce and Em fell out.

Em was still cool with Royce, even after the ghostwriting for Dre thing leacked, it wasnt until the first Anger Management until the beef started

Em never returned Royce's calls about signing to Shady and he even gave away a song the two did together to other artist (Renegade) as early as 2001. The fall out happened way before the beef went public...

i knew about that, but he doesnt say it because he respects Royce, the whole D12-Royce thing was stupid to begin with, i want more Bad Meets Evil.

still a subliminal diss, something you said em never used to do...

not a diss, he stops himself, he was about to say the name (not subliminal) and catches himself, it was more of a "im gonna sit this one out" than a diss

do you even know what subliminal means, it's a diss directed at someone, but the name isn't attached. the diss is still present, the person on the recieving end is just not mentioned.

Rocye and Eminem didn't have the relationship that the song presents, they were introduced in the late 90's (around 97).

nah How Come was more about Royce, Proof was even better friends with Royce than Em was "the fools i use to rap with all expect magic, like my fingers get to snappin and poof it just happens" refers to getting Royce signed to Shady.

uh Royce was never signed to Shady...that line refers Eminem blowing up

We were so young,

The main thing is Ronnie, Em's half bro or cousin (i forget which) that died in 91, Em and Royce didn't meet unitl around 97, how exactly did Em cry on Royce's shoulder when they didn't meet until 6 years later...that makes no sense...fat_rob
i know, that referred to proof, but the rest of the verse coincides with the whole Royce thing, its not impossible that the verse was about two different people, it just seemed like one, other than the Ronnie thing, the verse fits Royce more than Proof, i mean Proof's verse is about Royce and so is the chorus. And i think Ronnie was his brother.

i know, that referred to proof, but the rest of the verse coincides with the whole Royce thing, its not impossible that the verse was about two different people, it just seemed like one, other than the Ronnie thing, the verse fits Royce more than Proof, i mean Proof's verse is about Royce and so is the chorus. Royce and Em didn't have that type of relationship, Em and Proof were life long friends, Royce and Em were not. Royce and Em meet after both incredibly close to being signed, the Bonnie and Clyde dynamic doesn't match. Em and Proof did have a brief fall out that Royce helped them squash, but the fall out is completely evident in the fact that Eminem's best friend and cohort, was absent during Em's blow up. There is nothing to inidicates that Em changes focus in the verse. It would be about tow people, but no signal is given. The only reason people believe it's royce is cause that fall out is more know then the one with proof.

no it doesn't lol...the next line refers to the past line about having the same type of childhood. So before that line Em is talking about proof, then after that line (in a line that refers back to a line about proof) he is refering to Royce. Not too mention that Em and Royce were signed at nearly the same time, so how exactly did Royce run the streets when Eminem 9 to 5'd it, when both were going all out for the rap thing. Proof was know for being in the streets of Detroit and Em always worked dead end jobs.

Royce succame to the streets because he never got signed to a major, he still had the hustle mentality, he grew to resent Em especially after the beef, but neither attacked the other out of respect, and Em doesnt like the fact that Royce wont man up and talk with him, thats why he says "call me" at the end of the song. Proof and Em didnt grow apart, at first they did, but by MMLP they were together again, Royce started to blow up with Em and then disappeared from the picture.

Royce signed with aftermath the same time eminem did. Em brought royces demo to dre and got sigend. When the thing leaked out that em sat dre down in the both like a student(relesed by royces maneger) dre told royce to tell his maneger not to talk so much. Royce diden't like that. That is when royce got sigened to koch recoreds and relesed his album. Witch got good reviwes but diden't have enough popularity to make it know well. Thats the story as i know it.

See the verse doesn't even match the beef

Em was the one who was cold to Royce, Royce only dissed Em after Em never returned his calls about signing to Shady Records. Why would Royce resent Em, yet reach out to him as late as 2002? Em was the one who gave away a song the two of them did together. Why would Royce hate Eminem and resent him for giving him his only shot at being relevant? Em iniated the beef with Royce by not talking to dude, in the song, Em talks about the other person starting the beef. Em's verse is not about Royce, ish just doesn't fit.

Roycesigned with aftermath the same time eminem did. Em brought royces demo to dre and got sigend. When the thing leaked out that em sat dre down in the both like a student(relesed by royces maneger) dre told royce to tell his maneger not to talk so much. That is when royce got sigened to koch recoreds and relesed his album. Witch got good reviwes but diden't have enough popularity to make it know well. Thats the story as i know it.elcamino72
Royce never signed with aftermath, that was the reason the beef happend, Royce was signed with Tommy Boy, moved to Columbia, and created his own. He was NEVER on aftermath/shady.

See the verse doesn't even match the beef

nah, Em put him on the anger managment mixtape before the D-12 beef, which was in 01 or 02 (i think) so they still talked but were a little cold to each other

yeah, he worked with them for sure, but never got signed (cause of the ghost writing thing like you said). He got angry and said that anger management thing then the whole thing blew up.

the anger management thing was waaay after cause 2001 came out in '99 (stupid Game) and Royce meant that line in jest, but D12 took it as a diss, which caused beef which Em stayed out of, leading to no talking between him and Royce
