You know what, I really believe that Pac is only ranked higher than Biggie because he got shot a few times, lived, and still talked trash. Other than that, he is not better than Big, nor does he merit any more street credibility(for what it's worth) than him.

[QUOTE="HaSheeSh_basic"]lmfao, amazing how my top 5 rappers don't match up with that list even one bit! 1- Pharoahe Monch 2- Vakill 3- Ice Cube 4- Sean Price 5- The GZA :|

lmfao, the mtv list is pure comedy. Jay-Z isn't even top 20 material. Dude = Most overrated rapper ever.
Lakersman2000

None of those 5 have an album as good as Reasonable Doubt OR The Blueprint...

Pharoahe is pimp though, but hes no jay...how the hell can you even mention vakil yet?
ice cube deserves an honourable mention cuz he had dope albums...still not RD or BP...
Sean Price is wicked too...but hes still no jay
GZA doens't even have the best wu solo album...yet alone being top 5. No one in the WU deserves top 5 status...they are better as a GROUP...not individually...take allt he guest WU spots out of their albums and it would be worse.

Pharoahe Monch has atleast 2 classics under is belt, he is the master of immaculate multi-syllable flows...and top notch lyricism...he is hands down thee greatest MC ever. Vakill is the best battle rapper in the planet...have you ever heard The Darkest Cloud? I think not...too busy under jigga's nut sacks are we? Ice Cube is the greatest gangsta rapper ever. Death Certificate > RD + BP GZA has Liquid Swords. The greatest solo Wu album ever. Wanna know why? Not because I said so...and certainly not because you said so either. But because it is WIDELY considered the best solo wu album, most of the ppl that copped all classic wu albums will say that Liquid Swords is the best. Yeah, I agree that Sean Price isn't really top 10 material...it's just a preference of mine...dude's entertaining as f***.

the only thing pharoah has mastered is , boredom. dude is the most boring rapper . stop listening to rap already . you have the worst list ive ever seen. none of those dudes could hold jiggas jock strap .

LOL Hash did remind me, I think Ice Cube is my #5. I agree, greatest gangsta rapper ever (in the original sense, at least), though I don't know about DC being better than BOTH RD & BP.

Jay making number 1 is pretty damn big. Everyone is usually stuck on Pac or BIG. Not that bad of a list. Though I would def disagree. I wouldn't put Pac in my top 10 or BIG in my top 5.

Let me just get in on this whole DMX - Top 5 thing. I'm probably his biggest fan here but even I can admit he's fallen off hard with his last 3 albums. There's no way he can be considered for top 5, when alot more people have had more of an impact and are just better lyricists straight up. The main reason DMX got famous was because of his back round. Followed by his style and flow. He was never that good of a lyricist. That being said, he's still one of MY top 5 :P!

P monch just doesent sound good imo, i can read his lyrics and be like yeah these are ill but he doesent deliver them well, and Sean price, oh lord, i dont care how good this guy is hes a fake, u wana know why?

Well in a lot of his tracks hes always talking about how gangsta rappas are the fake ones in the game and that if he saw them on the street hed probally wreck them cause they are all lieng about their lifes, well in Northern VA, Sean Price was at a meeting with some convention manager, so that he could make an appearence at some covention in richmond, any way, young jeezy had a meeting in a building down the way, jeezys leaving sees price starts chasing the kid, Price runs in to a mcdonalds, and hides in the bathroom :| His body gaurds stand outside and wont let jeezy in jeezy knocks one of them in the face and his ppl start scrapin with prices body gaurds, Price runs out in the commotion and escapes in his limo, leaving his body gaurds there. And how do i know?...i live in northern VA, my friend works at mcdonalds and has a video of jeezy gettin snuffed by one of prices body gaurds...and ppl have been talking about his little scared a$$ ditchin across the street quick as ish.

Price is fake...he talks ish then when it comes down to it is scared to back it up...i dont care if hes good, hes a little fake chump and cant even support his beliefs hes a fake mc, its that simple.

Are you sure you're even thinking of the right Sean Price because dude doesn't even roll with bodyguards (unlike Jeezy), and he doesn't have a limo :| Nice story though

And Monch has crazy delivery... what are you talking about. His delivery is one of his trademarks...

I know he doesn't have bodyguards or a limo because he is too poor to even afford them and he has no use for them. He's the brokest rapper you know...

Interview with Sean Price

AllHipHop.com: What’s in your CD player right now?
Sean Price: Young Jeezy.

.....

AllHipHop.com: Who do you think will be the person to look out for in the New Year?
Sean Price: No cocky ****, but look out for me. I don’t really like too many cats out there. It ain’t because they talk about drugs or guns, because we all do. Papoose and Young Jeezy are nice.

But go ahead and upload the video:roll: Explain to me how I can google search for "Young Jeezy" and "Sean Price" and "Virginia" and get nothing that matches your story? If like you said, everyone in VA and DC knows about this, then it would definitely be up on the net by now...

Why would Jeezy start chasing Price, and and even better question is does Jeezy even know who Sean Price is...an incident like that would mos def have been on the internet because ish like that always ends up on the internet in rumor mill sections of hip-hop websites. Every little ish rappers do end up on the internet, so an incident like that involving Jeezy would mos def be there...

why i think this list is garbace is cuz they themselves admitt that "he might be more skilled lyriclly" crap. isn't that thebiggest factor? ok i concede that the top 3 guys had real big successes and social impacts...but if you look at how society decides things (as in look who is currently on top of the hiphop charts) you leave it to a bunch of people that dont pay attention to lyrical skills necessarily. i think mic skills plays da biggest part, and success and social impact should play secondarily.

about you talking about the greatest...some of the greatest players in any sport don't necessarily have the success...and that doesn't mean they aren't as great a player cuz they didn't win chamipionships...they juss didn't make it there. people like dan marino , elgin baylor, karl malone...those guys are some of the greatest that didn't quite have the success...so i still think success comes secondary

all these guys belong in the top 15...but only rakim could be even considered in the top 5...where tf is krs1?heres why i don't think these guys are top 5....

nas- why i don't consider him in the top 5 is cuz he had 2 good albums  throughout his career....i don't know why people forgot about the crap of an album nastradamus....i still think his claim to fame was illmatic. off course he had some really good songs, but its always in beetween some garbage. i got him around top 15 for that

biggy- 2 albums....with the second being mediocre imo. people are quick to elevate people people on limited body of work for one emcee, and then give longevity for the other....so whats the standard. okay he was one of the nicest in his time...but the golden age has already passed by the time he came around, or at least the tale end of it (matter of opinion) he didn't do anything to innovate the industry...his social impact revolved around negativity so i don't know how much merit you can give him for that. nice lyrically but you juss needed to hear more. i would put him top ten...like number 7.

2pac- has some of the deepest and most sincere records...BUT if we are going on that...he also has to be one of the biggest hypocrites in hiphop...brenda had a baby, i get around, keep yo head up...t6hen gets charged for beating (or sexually assaulting, forgot which) a girl. wtf is that? he is also the weakest lyrically of the 5. i didn't know charisma  had anything to do with mic skills cuz he charmed his way into this list. man i think his interviews are actually better than some of the messages in his albums...cuz he shows a lot of intelligence during interviews...his messages in songs hit home...but i know it could have been more profound. i have him in number 8 or 6...depends what mood i'm in

jiga- the nicest out right now. freestyles whole songs and albums...but comparing his lyrics to rakim...he is mediocre. i will not question his success here but he really broke the bank with club bangers. other than his debut album...or maybe even up til 97, all of the hits he ever made were club bangers. club bangers doesn't always equal mic skills.  thas why i put him smack dab on 15.

if we were going conventional top 5...i would see names like krs1, rakim, melly mel, kool me dee, big daddy kane and the like...cuz lyrically these guys willl wipe a lot of whats being done now. may not be club bangers or commercial hits...but these guys are what evolutionized hiphop...all the top haven't necessarily done so.

the most talented players arent always the best . talent means nothing alot of the the times. using big words doesnt either . most of u guys dont see the big picture and dont understand what overrall means .. rakim wasnt even that deep .

u must have hearing problems if u think nas only released 2 good albums, and that pacs messages werent very noticable in his albums...it was pretty clear wat his vision was and what points he wanted to get across, pac is the best of all time, yah jigga can do it all, but so what, look at the world we live in ppl, the rap game needs to stop focusing on entertaining and start doing something real, club bangers dont do nething for ne1, besides help them get some girls and enjoy them selves, pacs songs are influencing and inspiring ppl to take action and change the F***** up world we live in, i dont think any one can honestly say theyd rather have a song like shoulder lean out instead of a song like keep ya head up out...and dont go saying "oh ppl would obviously want keep ya head up because, blah blab blah blah..." lets just say the 2 were at the same level in all aspects but both kept their meaning. And if u can say ud rather have a club banger out, ure a fool, in every definition of the word, the game needs to change, artists need to start reachin ppls hearts instead of their wallets...
