Perhaps it started off thanks to some teens/friends who were drunk and/or decided to have some more fun and start running/bumping into each other whilst MCR were playing and it got worse..
wow its amazing how ignorant people here are. Seriously, I'm no big fan of mcr, but firstly, just because you don't like them doesn't mean other people don't, they're famous for a reason ;) secondly, if you ever gave them a chance before comforming to the hate crowd and listened to any of their older stuff, its fast and energetic enough to mosh to.

They're popular because they make catchy music and 'look cool'? Half of the popular bands contain crappy musicians. As long as the music is catchy and upbeat, they'll be popular. Why do you think metal is so hated?
