11 Y.O. boy tazered as 'last resort!'

News articleSo at a Elementary School, an 11year old boy who was caught physically assaulting a young girl, was tazered (twice) because he didn't adhere to the officers orders. First tazer was to break the fight, and the second tazer when the boy got back up to go after the girl again.The two mothers had both a pro & con of the situation, and I'm for the pro of this issue. If a student is out of control, the safest method to subdue a young boy without any additional physical means would be to use a taser. I'm sure if it was your child who was getting physically assaulted, you would want the best treatment to resolve it.it's harmless to the kids, just puts them through a adrenaline rush afterwards.What are your thoughts?

I have no problems with that...all though I would think a cop would be able to subdue an 11 year old without a taser >_>Darth-Caedus

If an older boy is beating up a young girl, he should be under a daily shock treatment anyways.

Unless it was the fat cop from the other thread I don't see why a police officer wouldn't be able to subdue an eleven year old. The kid did get back up though to go after the girl again so he probably needed the shocks.

I don't think it's right to use a taser on anyone who is not armed themselves. A police officer should be able to easily take down just about any unarmed assailent. They are trained in such things are they not? I would certainly think they could take an eleven year old down safely without a taser and without injury to the kid or anyone else recieving further injury. People have died because of the use of tasers. If used improperly, if the person using them slips and it tasers the wrong area or touches the person it can cause serious injury or death. Why risk this?
