I think he's been a horriblepresident so far.

He's the wrong person and was elected to lead this country at the wrong time.

Given what he had to work with--the disarray from mistakes left behind by a person who had no business being in office, especially for 2 terms--I would say that progress will come slowly, and that any errors and setbacks must be expected, and may not necessarily come as the fault of Obama. I think that he is doing a fine job.sinistra45

It's tough to judge him after less than 2 years. Especially after Bush's administration wrecked things for the prior 8. It's much harder to fix things than it is to screw them up.

Hes not good. Not the worst though. I wish he wasn't so set on that healthcare bill.

Though, he gets so much less hate for similar things to what Bush did. Its just sad.

I think his presidency is best summed up as, "meh".

Healthcare reform and financial reform are great. Don't ask, don't tell is also on its way out. The world loves us again. The oil spill wasn't his fault, but he did extract billions from BP to use in the clean-up. The stimulus was a major failure. Not nearly enough money was spent to have an impact. I'd also mark him down for immigration, but I don't care in the least who is coming here. I'd give him a C+/B-. It would be an A- if the economy wasn't in the crapper. wstfld

I think he's been allright thus far. I do think he will lose a lot of fellow Democrat seats this November. How he will negotiate with a larger Republican presence in either or both houses I think will shape his chances when the time comes for re-election time.

the healthcare bill won't really start to effect people for at least a couple of years (if i remember correctly).

I was by no means under any delusion by all his promises, i measured him by his history, his life living outside of the US and being a kid raised by a white mother, an Indonesian step father, and white grandparents. I saw him as a person of someone i would typically agree with more often then not.

Mind you i didn't have anything really against McCain either, i can respect both sides of the political debate and i do think they both have merits. and regardless of whatever my conservative or liberal friends tell me, i still say that despite myself being - what would typically be labeled as liberal - If i thought either Republican/Democrat had a 100% fool proof everyone is happy platform we wouldn't have these debates nor a democracy for that matter.

Thus far he's, for the most part, done what he campaigned on, so it would seem that what he's doing is, in fact, in accordance to the majority of people's opinion.
