[QUOTE="BAHAHAHAHAHA"][QUOTE="Grodus5"]I think it ultimately shows what the new generation of Muslims are like or are learning to be like under the influences of liberialism in Western Countries.Grodus5
Of course it bloody doesn't. How can you possibly take the rare case of a Christian converting to Islam as a sample of the average young Muslim?

Because maybe, I don't know... there were other people in the room at his speech agreeing with him?

Shock as Muslims are wildly congratulatory to a convert who criticises his former religion?

[QUOTE="osiris667"][QUOTE="BAHAHAHAHAHA"][QUOTE="osiris667"] dude, all you're doing is pulling quotes, which btw would take hours to break down for you to understand, especially the "misogyny" verse. I'm no scholar to be able to give you perfect conclusions, but google is you're friend. That first verse is about adultery, which btw needs 4 witnesses, single man's witness is not sufficient(nothing to do with male or female) The second one is about homosexuality not Homophobia which is a more cultural issue. You're ignoring the last bit of the verse. The "misogyny" verse, bear in mind that Islam is perfect when it comes to justice, not even the slightest doubt is to be accepted. So in case a woman, forgets, there's another woman there. Again, not because a man or two cannot witness an event well. The Qu'ran does not claim a woman's testimony is half of that of a man's in any other case. Anyways, don't expect any mind blowing conclusions from me, google is your friend. And i don't mean wikipedia.

What an awful response. Firstly, how can you deny that gender has anything to do with a verse that implies that more women are needed to constitute a reliable testimony? Secondly, homophobia is discrimination, fear of hatred of homosexuals, and therefore this verse has EVERYTHING to do with it - and don't give me that 'cultural issue' crap. The only cultural issue is that - my culture is tolerant of homosexuals, and yours is bigoted and hateful towards them. My cultural is superior. Regardless, this all stems from religion, in that the root cause of Muslim homophobia is the Quran itself. It is a religious issue, and it is one that demonstrates how the Quran simply codifies the troglodytic, hateful prejudices of the time. God's word my ass.

The fact that not anywhere else is it mentioned? nor in the biography of the prophet, nor in the Qu'ran? Secondly, homophobia IS a cultural issue, it's not a natural thing, not one Abrahamic religion condone it. There's a difference between being involved in a homosexual act, and having homosexual feelings.

Oh I quite agree that there's a difference, but neither is immoral, and anyone who says otherwise is ignorant, stupid or some combination of the two. Also, piss off with the 'not natural' rubbish. Do you squat down and crap on the ground, as is natural? Do you never wear clothes, as is natural? Do you have sex before marriage, as is natural? No? Then stop being a hypocrite by condemning homosexuals on the grounds that what they do is 'not natural'.

[QUOTE="BAHAHAHAHAHA"][QUOTE="majoras_wrath"] Shall I pull out some nasty violent sections from the bible? Perhaps the section about bears ripping apart disrespectful children would do. I realize you're an atheist, as am I, but lets not stigmatize one religion, rather, criticize them all equally. Like you said, most western muslims ignore the nasty bits, same goes for jews and christians.

You're quite right to point out that the Bible is frequently just as unpleasant - but as I've said previously in this thread, the Quran is altogether more dangerous because it is considered by all Muslims to be the word of God - therefore while a Christian who's not a total idiot can ignore the bits of the Bible that demand the stoning of those who work on the Sabbath on the grounds that it's not the word of God, a Muslim cannot reasonably oppose a single word of the Quran. I see no reason to criticise all religions equally when they are not all equally insidious.

Why are you generalizing again? Not "all" muslims believe it is the word of god. It's a question of theory vs. practice.

Rubbish. Utter rubbish. Every Muslim believes that the Quran is the word of God as conveyed via Muhammad. This is an absolutely core aspect of Islam. For ****'s sake.

Wow im seeing a large lack of debating skills and false knowledge being thrown around. However im glad to see that the overall populas has seen through this blatant propaganda conjured up to cause fear and hate. Fact is Muslims have been around for HUNDREDS OF YEARS living alongside CHRISTIANS, JEWS in peace, so why all of a sudden are we on a crusade now? surely we would have done so a whole lot earlier?

The Bible is the core of all Christianity and I'm a Christian, yet I disagree with a ton of stuff the Bible says. Why are you generalizing again? Not "all" muslims believe it is the word of god. It's a question of theory vs. practice.

Edit: Glitch Spot. I'm a Christian. The Bible is the core of all Christianity. Yet I disagree with a vast majority of what the Bible has to say.

It isn't natural, no matter what you think or say, homosexuality isn't a normal thing, it's not a gene, and isn't genetically determined, otherwise it would have been a different matter.

Bloody hell. Can you read? Can you think? Then congratulations! You were fully equipped to understand my point: that you, for condemning homosexuality as unnatural, are a hypocrite. You crap in a toilet, which is unnatural, and you wear clothes, which is unnatural, and you use cars, which is unnatural. You do unnatural things every day, and if you had the slightest bit of sense you'd realise that THERE IS NOTHING NECESSARILY WRONG WITH THE UNNATURAL. Thank you. The end, you lose, run way with your tail between your legs.

Your comparing TRIVIAL acts to that of PROCREATION, a man and a man cannot Procreate neither a woman and a woman thus its unnatural

omg, crapping in a toilet, wearing clothes, using cars, all are aquired skills(simple), doesnt need a **** gene to be able to do them. homosexuality on the other hand, is a completely different thing, it's even against the most simple job of life form which is to pro create.

How isit possible to be a jew when you dont beleive the religion itself? surely youd be better suited to calling yourself an athiest as the option youve opted for is impossible?

Yes - they have in common the fact that they're both unnatural.

I wouldn't worry about it. When I went to college, the amount of diversity, acceptance, and open-mindedness was mind-blowing. I'm sure you'll be fine.

The end, you lose, run way with your tail between your legs.BAHAHAHAHAHA

Your comparing TRIVIAL acts to that of PROCREATION, a man and a man cannot Procreate neither a woman and a woman thus its unnatural

****ing hell. Are all Muslims as stupid are you? I certainly hope not. IT DOES NOT MATTER WHETHER HOMOSEXUALITY IS UNNATURAL BECAUSE BEING UNNATURAL IS NOT NECESSARILY A BAD THING.

Since we're going off topic:

[QUOTE="majoras_wrath"][QUOTE="mattbbpl"]This reminds me of the time we saw our Jewish friend eating bacon on her sandwich at a party.

"I thought you were Jewish," one of us said. "Did you convert?"

"I'm Jewish, but I'm not a super-Jew," she replied

I live in a very jewish area at the moment, and am jewish myself albeit atheist (and know many others who believe the same). So I'm not looking forward to going to college, telling people I'm Jewish, and getting weird stares when I tell them I don't believe in god and eat ham and cheese.

How isit possible to be a jew when you dont beleive the religion itself? surely youd be better suited to calling yourself an athiest as the option youve opted for is impossible?

Judaism is an ethnoreligion, so I can never stop being "ethnically" jewish. Also, I am very much culturally jewish, going as far as celebrating Passover. (Although more for the cool myth then anything).

I wouldn't worry about it. When I went to college, the amount of diversity, acceptance, and open-mindedness was mind-blowing. I'm sure you'll be fine.

Yeah I know, I was being partially facetious. :)

Then again, I'm going to college in a city with almost no jews...and considering the reactions I've gotten before (as in, :O YOU'RE JEWISH? THAT'S AWESOME!!!1)...it may be interesting.

Do you know about a little thing called the crusades?

This thread was no good to begin with, and then it just got worse. I've noticed two things lately. We've got a fairly sizable number of muslims on this site, and a fairly sizable number of people who think it is ok to troll them. Read the religious guidelines on for this board.
