everyone has the right to pursuit happiness, am i right? No, you aren't. There are limits as to what a person can do in order to pursue happiness. Some people are happy when they are brutally murdering a person. Obviously, dating a 15 year old isn't quite on par with murdering somebody, but its still wrong. There are limits in place as to how far you can go to achieve happiness.[QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"][QUOTE="Dante2710"]whatever people wanna do with their lives its none of my business...and if they make each other happy *shrugs* let them be Dante2710

Who said the girl wouldn't be happy. I get what you're saying, but you sound like you think he's forcing a relationship on the girl.

He said everyone is entitled to the pursuit of happiness....I responded with the correct answer. Why are you arguing that?
Second....their are laws in place for a reason. She is a minor and not legally able to consent.

If sex = prison, there should not be a romantic relationship of any sort.

I'm not arguing with that, I'm merely asking why you think the girl would be forced, and wouldn't be happy with a 19 year old. Plus, I know she can't consent. I never said it was right, just asked a question about your line of thought.
Inherently, yes. Legally, no.
You two should wait quite a while before you get romantic. But just being a couple and building a strong relationship at your ages is harmless and will only make things easier once you get serious later on. Heck,I personally wouldn't even advise most couples under 20, legal or not, to engage in sexual activity. I may seem like a prude, but it really is better to wait a little while when you're both more mature. Sex is serious business. :P Honestly though, it is, especially for you straight folks, because all the protection in the world still can result in a pregnancy. Then what? If she desires to keep the child for whatever reason and you don't... etc and so forth. Sex is romanticized to death in modern society, it really isn't something to be taken lightly. Yes, it can be fun, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be treated with respect.

Let's look at some activities some individuals may consider "happy"....murder, torture, sexual assualt, theft, grand theft auto, assualt and battery, child abuse, scams, the list goes on.....so...are you saying these activities should be pursued?

I actually just asked why a 15 year old and a 19 year old couldn't be together, excluding the fact it's against the law. How is this harmful?
For the 15 year old it would most likely be momentary happiness at it's best, later it will only be regrets.I actually just asked why a 15 year old and a 19 year old couldn't be together, excluding the fact it's against the law. How is this harmful?

What will her friends and family think, what exactly does 15 and 19 year olds have in common, what could they talk about.
Not to mention the 19 year old must be a total loser to go after a 15 year old chick. What...can't attract anybody your own age? The 15 year old girl needs to focus on things like school and becomming an adult. She doesn't need a 19 year old loser complicating her life, being a teenager is complicated enough.

That depends on the individual. Plus, as long as the 19 year old didn't abduct the 15 year old, or become obsessed, the 15 year old can leave the relationship. I don't see why there would be regret, the times have changed to where 12 and 11 year olds are sexually active (look at thebirth controlthing in Maine). I can see how there would be regret with someone younger than 15 who is less mature, but a mature 15 year old can easily live with the choice of being in a relationship with a 19 year old.

No..you took exception my comment that you can't pursue happiness at another's expense...as for this scenerio...she is not emotionally mature enough for a relationship with an adult most likely...which is why those laws exist.
its a little weird... the difference between a 19y/o and a 15y/o is much much bigger that a 19y/o and 23y/o
but, i don't think theres anything necessarily wrong with it

True...there is something wrong with an adult trolling the high schools for girlfriends.

When did I say look? And I don't condone the relationship between and 19 and 15 year olds. It just depends on the individuals in the situation.

No it doesn't....the 15 year olds always think they are old enough...and there is something wrong with an adult who has to date children.

No, it does not depend on the individuals. No adult should be romantically involved with someone who just recently finished junior high.

Here's a question: A HS senior dates a HS freshmnan and it's okay to pretty much everyone. One year later he's 19, she's 15. Are they supposed to break up right away (even though they probably will, you never know)?

An 18 year old senior should NOT be dating a 14 year old freshman.:|
