Whats wrong with just spending time and having compassion for someone? I say as long as there is no sexual contact going on, then nothing wrong with it. 16 is the lowest any state goes for AOC so in that respect it would be illegal.

I was in a simmilar situation, but the girl was older then 15, and she was of age, but much younger then me, 4 years, but I see nothing wrong with it as long as no sex is involved, the law cant tell you who you can and cant have feelings for

But aren't those laws an arbitrary imaginary line? If that line was changed you'd have to change your view if you're taking the law inhand with what is right and wrong (two things which I believe should not be confused). How about we set the line 5 years higher? Maybe 10? (for every argument you can come up with about their being a general age of responsibility I can give you exceptions of younger responsible people and older irresponsible people, so unless you can give me a convincing reason I am going to treat the age limit set at 18 as essentially arbitrary and missing the point).

I really do despise these threads because the answer should be obvious to anyone with an ounce of social knowledge, it's not dependant on things like age so much as it is on the maturity of the couple, the age-gap (in social terms, not numeric;that is if socially the ages actually make any difference, take for instance a 26 year old and a 31 year old, we would consider the social age difference neglible, that may be the case here).

just so you all know, the relation isnt sexual......yet. but i do know she's too young for that anyway so i'm even looking into it in that way. we're just going out for the time being.TheDarthvader
