[QUOTE="DisturbedChild7"] We do need laws, that's correct. However, the question was what if there weren't? If your entire family had sex with 10 year olds would you think that's wrong? No, because you were raised that way. That's why many pedos have a history of sexual abuse in their families. If these laws weren't made it could be like times when it wasn't uncommon to marry at 14 and go off to work. I agree that there should be laws, but you can't deny we think this way because we are raised to think this way. It's like the Amish choosing to stay Amish instead of converting.

You are correct in that there is no denying upbringing plays a major role in how we think. This cannot be used to rationalize the act, though. What was or wasn't acceptable 100 years ago is irrelevant. All that is relevant is what is and isn't acceptable today.
It was acceptable less than 100 years ago, it's more of a recent change. The only time this act is rationalized is when you hear in courts that a deal is made because a guy thought a girl was 18, she wasn't, and he got arrested. He gets punished, but it is rationalized because it's saying that sometimes looks are important. If you went to a bar and had sex with a 16 year old thinking she's 18 or 19 (even though it'd be illegal for her to be there, but overlook that) does that make you a pedophile. Rare instances can indeed rationalize this, but in this threads case, it can't. A conscious, long-term relationship is against the moral standard in society.
Ha, I just read that. It made me chuckle.
