Hey Rawsavon if you spare a moment. I think I may have an answer.
It's basically the enjoyment you get out of giving a middle finger up. Going out silently is like being defeated, if you rebel you do not go out in agreement, you try to make a ripple. This is basically it.
I did a similar thing with the game APB. I was looking forward to the game but after a few weeks playing it I found I seriously disliked many aspects of the game and it's community (especially the community). I started to expose exploits to the game and after deciding I have had enough and no longer wish to spend much more time on it, I went out with a band. I activated a Helios Aimbot hack which allowed me to use a program which automatiaclly tracked players onto my crosshair, meaning all I had to do was press down the left mouse button twice and bang one player dead. I also removed the weapon recoil from the game meaning I could kill at any range with my burst fire rifle.
Although my reason for this may have been slightly different to that of suicide accounts, since my motive was this "your playing an MMO, a game which deserves to be exploited and hacked to every extent, because an MMO should provide defences vs such attacks or exploits, as there is no use relying on a compassion between gamers that doesn't exist".
As for those who post on these topics, I don't know, I really got no idea. I would of thought it was to insult the person as they are going down, but if they side with the person then what the hell? No logic in that at all, but i've seen that sort of thing in real life, such as when England lost the Euro 96 to Germany, the English fans started to trash the streets of London. Well how is that getting back at Germany?
