All of those positions were considered radical and extreme at some point in time (and not just by the British or slave owners). If you're going to ignore what are basic historical facts then there is no point in continuing this conversation. -Sun_Tzu-Not really. Most people in the country didn't have slaves. The north was industrialized. They may have been racist but they didn't depend on slave labor. The population in the south that did was actually minor in comparison to the entire country. As for the Revolution...the people in the US overall did want to break from the UK. The taxes were breaking the people. So I'd say to the British...it was extreme. But not to the the Americans.
And anyway...you have demonstrated my point for me.

Are you even replying to what he said?Saw an article this morning in my local paper (the left-leaning NY Daily News) and thought of this thread.
The headline reads:
The headline is clearly attempts to make it seem as if somehow Mr. Bachmann iswas involved in Medicaid fraud, or that he was somehow the direct recipient of the funds. However, the full story is that Mr. Bachmann runs a mental health facility, and the payments were for patients on Medicaid that used the clinic over a period of years.
If you want to say that Fox leans to the right, that's fine. But don't pretend bias doesn't exist elsewhere.

My parents have even started to stop watching Fox News and they're very right wing. I don't really know how to feel about that. :P The only two people the liked to listen to were Glenn and Bill. Lost faith in the former for claiming to be libertarian while he bashes Ron Paul, lost faith in the latter because he is so stuck up now. Is there a good source of news for conservatives and/or libertarians?Nerkcon
Sticking with Fox, or Fox Business rather, I believe Judge Andrew Napolitano's show Freedom Watch caters to libertarians.

The Daily News
The paper has sunk to NY Post levels.
(Not trying to discredit your post, I'm just stating, and I think you'd agree, how much of a joke that newspaper has become).

Yeah, they are two sides of the same coin. Both as biased. Daily News to the left and Post to the right. Although Newsday (left) takes the cake by far.My parents have even started to stop watching Fox News and they're very right wing. I don't really know how to feel about that. :P The only two people the liked to listen to were Glenn and Bill. Is there a good source of news for conservatives and/or libertarians?NerkconGlenn Beck just points out where some of Ron Paul's positions don't add up... not really "bashing" him. I've never heard Beck declare he was a Libertarian. Even if he is... he can't criticize another Libertarian? As for O'Reilly... I've never been a big fan. I only watch when he has a guest on that I want to see. He talks over people too much, and does come across as quite pompus. OT: I laugh every time I see one of these threads because I know how much most of this community leans to the left. But, they never explain why Fox News is still America's most watched network. Could it be the majority of Americans are more conservative than the liberal media would have us believe? I think so. I also think the conservative side is lazy, and doesn't want to put a good fight against the liberals... that's why it appears as if the liberals are having their way with the country. Don't get me wrong, I believe in a good balance of left and right. But, we've had a government controlled by liberals for the last two years +... things aren't looking very good either. Blame the Bush admin all you want, but two years with complete control is more than enough time to right the ship.
