[QUOTE="Ace6301"] The fact that you see this as a legitimate complaint rather than a joke says more about the quality of Infowars "journalism" than I think I ever could.Ace6301

It's hard to tell with you.  You will call something a joke when you didn't mean it to be one.

General rule of thumb is that everything I say is a joke on some level.

Especially when you're reading it from my level.  :P

How so?  I speak my mind.  There are some things about greedy, powerful people that most people don't grasp, so they call me crazy when I talk about them.  There are other things that just don't add up for me as a possible/probable conspiracy.  This is one of them.

Thanks?  I guess?

hartsickdiscipl

It's an improvement in that you didn't outright agree with Alex Jones. Baby steps.

Alex didn't say that the government did it.  So yeah, I did agree with him.  Perhaps you should take a few baby steps in the direction of paying attention to detail.

? Who mentioned anything about the government? I'm talking about you taking anything that Alex Jones says as gospel.

Did someone say the atom smasher is dangerous, OMG how stupid are people? I won't even comment on Alex Jones because he's a nutjob and doesn't deserve the effort.

[QUOTE="Ace6301"]Infowars should change its banner to something like: "Nothing bad would ever happen if the US government didn't exist" At this point it really would be more consistent for them to claim that the US was sending natural disasters back in time rather than admitting that bad things do in fact happen that are outside of our control. hartsickdiscipl

If you listened to The Alex Jones show on any sort of regular basis, you would know that he constantly states that there are real terrorists and truly natural disasters.

I don't think listening to that moron for an extended period of time would be a productive use of anyone's time.

I was thinking it might correlate with the decline of social conservativism.

People traded in one form of anti-intellectualism/non evidence based ideology, for another.

I was thinking it seemed tied to the rise and adoption of the fervent anti-government crowd in a positive feedback loop.

GOP adopts Tea Party and gives them a microphone, Tea Party following grows which gives a sizable audience for acts like Glenn Beck, which produces a larger audience, which increases Beck's/Tea Party's exposure more, and so forth.

But that's just wild speculation based on first hand observations.

I understand this was a joke, but I've truly never understood how conspiracy people can simultaneously believe that the government has the technology to summon a 1.3 mile wide tornado and yet be held at bay by some personal firearms.

Yes, quite right.  However, the ability to generate tornadoes in specific locations wouldn't guarantee victory over a nation of gun owners.  You're not going to hit them all.  It's a terrible argument that's full of holes.

Bear in mind- I didn't say that I think that the government can specifically manufacture and effectively steer tornadoes at will.  Maybe Alex and I do disagree on that.  Maybe he knows something I don't.  Doesn't really matter right now.  I don't know of any evidence that this is what happened in Oklahoma.

Actually it probably would. Especially when the same nation also puts the most money into its military, has an extensive amount of intelligence agents and has nukes. Being able to summon an F5 tornado on a specific location would pretty much be enough alone as the government would have effectively transcended God at that point. I know for a fact God can't summon Tornados where he wants because Las Vegas still exists.

But we're not talking about nuclear weapons. We're talking about a tornado machine!! That would just blow away all the trees and then the aliens would easily get them.

Could you imagine if they could control stuff like that, the markup on fresh water would be crazy because they could litterally put your entire state into a drought if you didn't pony up the dough.

The most suspect part of the tornado hitting Moore, OK has nothing to do with the storm itself.  It has to do with the mainstream media's immediate switch in coverage away from Obama, Clinton, and Holder committing criminal and treasonous acts so they can treat a tornado like it's Fukushima.  Yes, it's terrible!  People died and the damage is amazing.  But come on.. The Joplin, MO twister that killed over 160 people didn't have this much coverage.

hartsickdiscipl

Don't forget that all this extreme weather helps push the climate change agenda.

weather weapon? So in Alex Jones's world our government is now so badass it can create tornadoes, and control the weather in general?  Doesn't he also claim that the government is incompetent on a regular basis?

Serraph105
Actually the government has experimented with technology to modify the weather.. making in rain in areas of drought etc.

Yes, but to control the weather to the extent of using a tornado to destroy a billion dollars worth of property and kill dozens of people doesn't exist.
