My sister told me of an old friend who was 20-21 (around there) and dated a 15-16 year old (around there). He took her out late. her parents called the cops. He was labeled as a predatator. Then he committed suicide couple months later. Lost his GF, his job, he figured his life was over. Sad story. Death penalty? Not always.

You keep saying you only "talked" with the guy. After reading all your posts, I highly doubt that is what happened. You're implying something completely different here. Why don't you just say you talked to him instead of "talked' to him? Basically you and this officer went to this guy's house, harassed and possibly assaulted him, and with your almost lynch-like mob potentially toting all your guns, kicked him out of your neighborhood. That's what I get out of this story.

Basically what we have here is this macho bravado of a guy saying he is doing the world some good by kicking the guy out of his neighborhood. Agreed, you can't really get more sick or evil than a pedophile.

Pedophiles seem to come from all walks of life and many different types of people, There doesn't appear to be any obvious social or lifestyle circumstances that increase the number of pedophiles so i personally question whether such a stigmatized "Lock them up and throw away the key" view is the best approach to the situation. Sure if they rape a child or abuse a child in any way they should be punished but i think the whole issue has become so stigmatized that anyone who does have pedophilia tendencies will likely keep them bottled up rather then seek help which i find very counter-productive.

I 100% agree with TC. I wouldnt stop at pedophiles either. All murderers, rapists, and Pedobears get the death penalty. no exception.

If the law didn't do anything about it then there is a reason. Ether the man is not prohibited from being in the proximity of a school or no body was able to produce any evidence that he was stalking around an elementary school. Sorry, but resorting to vigilantism doesn't make you a hero. It's nothing more than bullying and a sign of contempt for society and its laws. And no, you did not politely ask him to leave. The fact that you keep saying "talk" speaks volumes. It indicates that you harrassed, ether through force or threat of force, this man into leaving. Of course there should be a punishment aspect to it, and indeed there is. Imprisonment itself is a pretty severe punishment.

Not at all comparable. A 16 year old being attracted and having relations with a 15 year old is not pedophilia. People really need to learn what this term means.
