Again, multiple media have more race and gender swaps than TRoP and are considerably more successful and highly rated. Hell, from the same company at that. That show has some mixed reviews, primarily based off writing and acting. A black elf and dwarf were not the reason for this.

Both of you think that games flop because they cater to the other side, and games are successful because they appeal to your side. Both of you think that the quality of a product doesn't matter, and that pandering can save it from failing.
There's so many reasons not to gender flip this character. And zero reasons to do it.
Others have mistakenly said he's a Fremen, but he's only half Fremen. His father was the imperial planetologist who went native while studying Dune. So Kynes is caught between those two worlds, but his official role in the books is as part of the imperium. It's true the Fremen are mostly egalitarian, but The Imperium is definitely not. There are key moments in the book (really the only times we get to know Kynes) where his behavior would not make sense as a woman, given the patriarchal society of the Landsraad. Like when he accompanies the Duke Leto on the first thopter trip, when we see the worms for the first time. Or when he is invited to the dinner party with the other men and ladies of court. That is a pivotal scene where gender roles are critical to how things play out. His behavior, if he is a woman, doesn't make any sense in that scene.
Above all, it's completely unnecessary. There are more female roles in the source material of the original books then any other Space Saga I can think of. There are egalitarian societies to contrast female roles with patriarchal societies. There's an entire goddamned faction of near immortal female space witches secretly pulling the strings on the imperium.
Maybe more than anything, arbitrarily deciding you want another female character "because" seems like he is missing the point of the books. These characters are caught in plans within plans. They are all pawns. Some of them literally see the future and they still are powerless to change it. Being forced to play the "role" assigned to you, whatever the injustice, is literally the central theme of the entire Dune Saga.
I guess the last thing I'll say, If you think gender doesn't matter in the Dune novels ... I'm not sure what to tell you really.

Because it creates feelings of guilt in the supposedly privileged, for example. If you are constantly confronted with this and have to listen to the accusation that you are a racist or a sexist, then at some point it creates feelings of guilt. And these feelings of guilt then pass into the superego mode and create a permanent bad conscience.
But that does not lead to genuine and healthy empathy with those who are actually affected by discrimination. It is something compulsive, something imposed, rigid, moralizing.
People who fight so aggressively usually have other problems that they simply shift into the political, ideological realm. Everyone has certain narcissistic, depressive and obsessive tendencies, but it all depends on how pronounced these tendencies are.
The dose makes the poison. And for some woke people, this dose is so high that it has a toxic effect. Internally and externally. For these people, their woke struggle is a good excuse to live out their aggression and narcissism on a political level.
We need to address the problem, otherwise a vacuum would be created in which we would no longer be able to be active. A never-ending depressive and negative spiral that leads us to become more and more extreme. We have now reached the point where realities are being denied, for example on the subject of gender.

Suicide Squad blowing chunks wasn't SBI's work. That's literally a lie and internet myth. It was primarily the main development team and publisher screwing up every step of the way with wrong decisions, putting this on SBI lets them off the hook. The bulk of reviews and development process timelines make this clear. The entire game was a disaster from it's conception, too much of it is flawed to blame one or two sentences in journal entries. I was just fact checking you (which has proven quite easy over the years), I still dislike SBI.

SBI were also involved with good projects. Such as God of War, Spider-Man, and Alan Wake 2, and certainly aren't the reasons those were good. My issue with SBI is that they are reported to severely threaten some developers in the narrative process. This is silly and pointless, and can only likely contribute to some harm. While I feel their impact is minor to the overall quality, such actions are highly inappropriate.

There's so many reasons not to gender flip this character. And zero reasons to do it.
Others have mistakenly said he's a Fremen, but he's only half Fremen. His father was the imperial planetologist who went native while studying Dune. So Kynes is caught between those two worlds, but his official role in the books is as part of the imperium. It's true the Fremen are mostly egalitarian, but The Imperium is definitely not. There are key moments in the book (really the only times we get to know Kynes) where his behavior would not make sense as a woman, given the patriarchal society of the Landsraad. Like when he accompanies the Duke Leto on the first thopter trip, when we see the worms for the first time. Or when he is invited to the dinner party with the other men and ladies of court. That is a pivotal scene where gender roles are critical to how things play out. His behavior, if he is a woman, doesn't make any sense in that scene.
Above all, it's completely unnecessary. There are more female roles in the source material of the original books then any other Space Saga I can think of. There are egalitarian societies to contrast female roles with patriarchal societies. There's an entire goddamned faction of near immortal female space witches secretly pulling the strings on the imperium.
Maybe more than anything, arbitrarily deciding you want another female character "because" seems like he is missing the point of the books. These characters are caught in plans within plans. They are all pawns. Some of them literally see the future and they still are powerless to change it. Being forced to play the "role" assigned to you, whatever the injustice, is literally the central theme of the entire Dune Saga.
I guess the last thing I'll say, If you think gender doesn't matter in the Dune novels ... I'm not sure what to tell you really.

I'm literally not far left at all, and I've actually criticized some of them several times. Though the alt-right malding because of diversity is pathetic. Especially since they stop interesting games from being made. No one is going to tackle a Mansa Musa movie/television show or a Shaka Zulu television show, movie, or game, because the anti-woke are boycotting every game with a black character.
