Yeah, people are taking it way too seriously.  He's not even expressly saying he wants Spidey to be gay.  He's just saying it could be an interesting concept.  For some reason people think everything a celebrity said is some carefully orchestrated statement.  Likely this was just a silly conversation he was having.  I'm sure we've all had funny hypothetical convos with our friends about fictional things.

This. I choose to not watch movies that do this crap for no reason but cheap publicity or misguided PR. Make a good superhero movie where the hero is gay, but you didn't have mess with an icon and I'll go watch it without problem. Do this stupid crap and i'm gone. I would be just as mad if they made Northstar straight or Storm a white woman. I guess at the end of the day the only reason it's a deal to me is that they thought it was a big deal enough to mess with it in the first place, and that usually means it's because some group somewhere cried hard enough.

....I had to check to make sure this wasn't an article from th onion. This obviously isn't going to happen ,but if it did I imagine it would alienate a lot of fans of the comics and movies. Its not even the fact that they would change the character into a homosexual that would cause a backlash. It would be such a drastic character change to the character that I don't think fans of the character would be okay with it. 

If they make a different version of the character that would be fine. I don't know why you would do that for one of the established Spider Man characters.Legolas_Katarn

I don't see the big deal. They change up comic book stuff all the time. There was a black spiderman. Oracle can walk in the new 52. Superman was in the USSR in Superman: Red Son.

Making this happen in the sequel to Amazing Spiderman would be stupid, but having it be in a new continuity I would be fine with.

It's stupid. Gay superheroes are fine and Spiderman could be gay in an alternate comic or something, but you just can't change an established character like that when doing something that's supposed to be the "real thing". It would be like making Batman have superpowers or Superman have a crush on Lex.tagyhag

This reminds me of a very weird Youtube video I watched years ago. Spiderman was lying on his back, tied up. He had this this raging big boner pointing towards his stomach and it was very tight against the spidersuit. Then there was that black Spiderman stimulating Spiderman's penis by using an electric toothbrush... I'm fairly sure this video has been removed since then though...

Seriously. Who the fvck wants to watch a superhero movie about a superhero exploring their sexuality. This doesn't even have anything to do with being for or against gay rights or anything like that. It's just a stupid fvcking idea, that would make a terrible movie. Such a movie would also be a flawless example of gay culture being haphazardly jammed into a film, just to push the acceptance agenda, with no regard for the integrity or identity of the film itself. You want a gay superhero? Go make up a new superhero. Don't say you weren't warned though, when the movie is shit because the character focus is more about him being gay than about him being a superhero.

They should do it. It's not a bad thing to change the source material to make it more original. It probably wouldn't help it at the box office though since there's likely homophobic people that would boycott it.
