I was forced all through my life to be someone I can't be because of various things that had happened to me and how I was raised - my parents had very little money, but they did their best to raise me to be respectful, considerate, hard working, understanding, open minded and capable of making my own choices.
I was never happy trying to be who I was forced to be, I was miserable all the time, restricted and never allowed to have my own opinion. Now that I've finally come to accept myself for all I am, I'm happier and I refuse to ever be what others demand me to be just because they think that just because I was hurt deeply when I was a child doesn't mean I'm going to do the same thing.
Better to be yourself than being the person people demand you to be just because they can't see beyond their narrow ideals of life.
