Who really likes to sit down and read for a couple of hours?
*YAWN!*
Who agrees?

No. The anti-intellectualism that's growing in the US (and possibly other countries, I don't know), is disturbing.

Even if you don't believe in religion the Bible is far from pointless. The stories contained in them are some of the earliest forms of literature and have influenced writers tremendously over the years.

I don't think so, Tim.The bible was influential because of its parables and the lessons contained within. Stuff like The Iliad, Epic of Gilgamesh, and Aeneid was way more influential to writers in terms of actual narrative.

Nice 1Books are as pointless as life itself if you feel that way. I enjoy reading and have for as long as I can remember and have never thought it pointless due to the fact that you can learn something, even if it is a novel.
Have you ever actually read a one of these things known as "books"?
Without books or writing, the oldest and most plausible way of passing down knowledge and wisdom through the generations, humanity couldn't get anywhere.
It takes a piece out of me when I hear youth seriously consider the question asked in the topic title.

I didn't learn anything important from Fall of Reach, am I doing it wrong?

May I add, with accuracy. At least much more so than orally.
