If you have a credit card with transaction fee's and membership charges you are using a weird ass credit card. I use a Discover that's free and I earn like $7 a month. Just make sure you pay your god damn balance so you don't get charged with interest.ChojutoCredit cards now adays dont charge interests on every purchase or charge you for being a member annually?
[QUOTE="lo_Pine"]Paying interest on credit is not only morally sound, but it is what expands economies, banks, and businesses. Nibroc420
Uhh, no.
I'll stick to paying $50, for a $50 item.
Have fun spending $55, because you didn't use cash.

[QUOTE="ExoticAnimal"][QUOTE="Nibroc420"]Why would you have to pay the extra $5? :? interest/stupid fees. You only pay interest if you don't completely pay off your credit at the end of the month. I have a credit card and I have never payed interest for anything. Just make sure you can pay your balance instead of the minimum every month.Uhh, no.

This is the card I have. If you click on "Terms and Conditions" (bottom left in blue) and ctrl + f "avoid" you'll find: "How to Avoid Paying Interest on Purchases: Your due date is at least 25 days after the close of each billing period (at least 23 days for billing periods that begin in February). We will not charge you any interest on purchases if you pay your entire balance by the due date each month."
No annual fee, no monthly fee, no transaction fee, 5% cash back on rotating categories, 1% cash back on all other purchases. I've only had it for a few months now, earn about $6 to $8 a month. But I'm a student still living with parents working part time so if you're working full time living on your own your cash back bonus is gonna be bigger.
I can only see credit cards being useful for the building of a credit score and for emergency use. I mean, that's the only reason I will ever touch the things.

lol @ mastercard being debit. MasterCard has debit cards.... Why are you posting here when you've shown us twice that you know nothing about credit/debit cards? And, there are (at least here in Canada) debit cards that work as credit cards anywhere besides Canada. It makes the question "debit or credit" a kick in the crotch if it wasn't already one for retail workers, people don't even know what card they have in their hands anymore.[QUOTE="Nibroc420"][QUOTE="almasdeathchild"]I use debit.and MasterCard at that.no complaints, Though always having cash at hand is a must even with a card.Toxic-Seahorse
Yes, young men and women just graduating from high school will probably get screwed since they lack credit. But getting that credit card and building a good history over a few months could be the difference between a few interest points while looking for your first car.
Only a ripoff if you're an idiot.
Debit and credit >>>>>> cash. Only plebs carry cash around anymore.

I must be a pleb cause I don't have a credit card and I use my debit card to get cash back so I don't have to use my debit card.
Yeah we confirmed you're a pleb long ago.[QUOTE="CHOASXIII"]

As long as you treat a credit card as a convenience, buy only what you can afford, and pay them off every month so you have no interest payments then they are awesome.
If you are some douche who can't do simple math or can't control yourself then credit cards are not for you. However, if you fall in that category you are pretty much guaranteed to fail at life anyway.

You do realize that a debit card is the same as cash right? You cannot use a debit card unless there is money in your account.

Yeah no sh1t Sherlock, you really thought I didn't know that? Seriously? There are no transaction fees on the consumer, and I don't have any kind of membership fee on any of my cards.
Sounds like you don't know much about credit cards, TC.

lol no it doesn't.Debit cards are greater than cash simply because I have to carry less stuff around with me in my wallet and I get Air Miles rewards and other points.
they are not a rip off if you use them properly, I haven't established credit yet but in the long run when I do and I buy something and pay it back within that month and I keep doing that, in the long run when I want to buy a car or a house then having a great credit score helps out because if you have a great score you don't have to put down a down payment. Also some employers look at your credit score to see if your a responsible, so having a crappy score can keep you from getting a job.
lol no it doesn't.[QUOTE="WhiteKnight77"]

Think what you must. I am not gonna argue with ua over it. Just tell everyone how great they are when a retailer charges you a fee for using a debit card for a small transaction (under $10 and I have seen places where that is happening now).
you can get ones without fees. lloveLampBingo. There are plenty of credit cards out there that pay you for using it by the way of money back or points or whatever else.
No you get cash back and air miles and all that good stuff, it's cheaper in the long run. If you pay on time and are responsible there's no reason not to use a credit card. Only situation you don't use a credit card is when you're buying <$30 or you're buying from a small business.
