No, I'm Australian and there is no point (I have no plans on going to Spain.) I'm learning Indonesian however.

Because I don't live in America, and where I live, spanish speaking people are about as rare as it gets. Spanish speaking or Africans.

Spanish will never be one of the world's most important languages. Its got a massive speaking base but unfortunately none of the countries that speak it are major enough to make it worth it, at least for myself.

A couple of decades from now and English will be the language that all people serious about business will HAVE to know how to speak. China and India are getting in on the act, and thats about half the world right there.
